Went a couple of weeks ago for the first time, for lunch with a friend. It's a renovated space but it's almost too clean and sparse - maybe too much space between tables, or too much white wall. We got appetizers, the I got the hot stone steak and my friend a nigiri combo. The food was good. The hot stone is kind of gimmicky and instead of working on eating and talking, found I had to pay too much attention and keep cooking little bits of steak. We were seated near the front of the place, didn't realize there was a view out the back until after we finished. Service was very polite but even with only a handful of people in the place, used dishes were not picked up quickly. We didn't try any drinks so can't comment. Will definitely go back, but not sure if this would really be a repeat place. For reference, we typically go to Fugakyu Cafe in Sudbury and I don't see this place being preferable. read more

I cannot say enough good things about crazy stone. I don't even have pictures to share because I'm too quick to shove all the food in my mouth. Everything tastes incredible and you can tell it's all fresh. My favorite roll has to be the black Jack roll - it has onion and cilantro which I don't think are super traditional but they make the most incredible roll. I love it. My wife always raves about the salmon avacado roll and the spicy tuna. The money bags are also elite - kind of like a crab Rangoon but with a little spicy kick. Everything here is phenomenal and I will continue coming back regularly. 11/10 read more

I really wanted to like Crazy Stone better. This place has so much on their menu but every time I get sushi it just isn't the best sushi. It hasn't been the best udon noodles, the inside is so nice but I haven't been able to experience dine in because of covid so I'm giving them 4 stars until I can get the full dine in experience! read more

Went to Crazy Stone tonight and it did not disappoint! (even sans Mai Tai...which I really wanted, ha!) The staff were really friendly and the restaurant itself was clean, bright and warm (I hate being cold in a restaurant). We enjoyed the Tuna Tataki (twice!), the gyoza (came to us nice and hot!) and 4 maki rolls. For the first time I actually found a place that literally makes a spicy tuna roll - most places make it mild but this one had a kick to it - it was awesome! The fish was so fresh- the last time I had sushi this good was in Hawaii. We really enjoyed this place and look forward to going back when they get their liquor licence! With all of the 5 star reviews, we chose to try this place. The decor is nice, as it's a new restaurant. However, the service and food were sub-par. There was one waitress, one busboy, and one sushi chef for the entire restaurant. They were unable to keep up with the half filled restaurant. The waitress would go out back for extended periods of time, leading to the conclusion that she too may have been cooking the hot meals? The only beverages they offer is water- weird. I ordered an avocado salad, which arrived with no dressing.... just dry greens topped with sliced avocado. Most of the sushi was just ok- and one order (Amaebi-sweet shrimp) tasted as if it had gone bad. At one point we witnessed the owner yelling at the busboy in Japanese. Always great food and great service. The sushi is fresh and they have a large variety of unique rolls. I love their Chicken Katsu and it's my go-to meal here. It's well done, crispy and delicious. With a name like Crazy Stone, you really have to try the CRAZY STONE on their menu--it's almost like a self-made hibachi with the all the fire and sizzle included. My housemate and I tried out a new sushi house today called the Crazy Stone, near Stephen Anthony's on the other side of Marlboro. (@ 1009 Boston Post Rd E, Rte 20, by the Marlboro-Sudbury line.) The place is relatively new, opening within the past couple months, and everything inside is sparkling new. There is a large table at the back of the dining room that seats 14 around a waterfall and cherry tree feature. The rest of individual tables have leaflets that pop out if you need more space for food (or tea service). Of course, there's also a sushi bar! We started off our meal with beef tataki (lightly seared beef) and two of the house rolls, the Wayside roll for me, which is just the right amount of spicy, and a Magical roll for my housemate, which is a spicy tuna roll topped with smoked eel, shrimp and red tobiko. Both were perfect. Our shared entree was a sushi and sashimi deluxe for two, and you can see much of it in its glory here. The fish is so fresh it just melts in your mouth. It also came with our third house roll, the Mind Eraser roll, which is a spicy crab roll topped with yellowtail and jalapeño. It cost a pretty penny for this entrée, but it was worth every one. They only have two desserts, but we both got the "Hokkaido Cake", which our server described as Japanese cheesecake. That's not exactly right, but it's even better than that. It's a finely layered cake that tastes like heaven. And they serve it with these cute forks. Needless to say, I will be returning! And I wholeheartedly recommend any sushi lovers in the area to give them a try. read more

Ordered through DoorDash for the first time because it had such high reviews. However I am not sure why. The tempura was tasteless and the shrimp were over cooked. I ordered shrimp hibachi and it tasted more like Chinese food. The fried rice was extremely sticky. The food is super delicious and the staff is friendly. They take your temperature prior to sitting you which I think it's a nice gesture during this COVID-19 pandemic. The owner brought over a free plate of edamame. They may be trying to win over first time guests, but it was a nice touch. Decor is clean, though a little kitchy. The waitress did not understand any of the Japanese names for the menu items, and even ordering in english a few things needed to be repeated. Despite the repetitions, we ordered a spicy tuna roll and a shrimp tempura roll appeared. No alcohol license. Without any alcohol, I'll be hard pressed to return and not drive the extra couple of minutes to Fugakyu. read more

My dad and I just tried Crazy Stone for the first time tonight. We are huge sushi fans and get sushi quite often but this was our favorite sushi restaurant thus far. We got squid nigiri, and the salad sampler for appetizers - both delicious with tons of flavor. My dad got mackerel (he orders it at every sushi restaurant we go to) and he said it was the best mackerel he's ever had! We ordered a magic roll, Boston lobster roll, and an eel roll which were all amazing as well. Everything had tons of flavor, prepared very nicely, and the staff was very kind and efficient. Their food is flavorless. Literally their fried rice had no taste and their steakhouse onion soup tasted like water. In addition they had lee Kum kee soy sauce which is already a red flag because that is a Chinese soy sauce brand we already know that this place is not authentic Japanese food. This is my new favorite sushi place hands down. We made a reservation for 5:30 on a Saturday. It wasn't really necessary. They were a bit slow at that time. The restaurant was clean and there's plenty of parking. The waitress suggested an app (forgot the name) and it was the start of a great meal. The seafood soup was large and loaded with seafood. We ordered several different sushi rolls. They were all excellent. Try the Hot Girl roll and the Boston Lobster Roll. It had an entire lobster tail and more in it. I've got nothing bad to say. This is BY FAR the best sushi restaurant in the suburbs of Boston. The fish is extreamly fresh and the creativity as well as variety of the chef's rolls are phenomenal. Four of us ate at Crazy Stone for the first time today (6/26/21). The food was outstanding and the view out the window was wonderful. We enjoyed appetizers: "Money Bags", Agedashi Tofu, and Seaweed Salad. All three were excellent. We visited this time for sushi, and the Coco Roll and Out of this World roll stood out as the stars, although there was a vegetarian single-piece special that was described as the best vegetarian sushi, ever. We also tried the fried rice (vegetable) and it was as good as reviewers said. This is now our go-to sushi spot in the area. Next time, we'll be trying the lava stone cooking for sure. read more
