Crazy Rays sold the yard to a nat'l company called LKQ, no way to contact the yard directly anymore. Also, the LKQ call center personnel could not answer any questions I had regarding vehicles, parts etc., but offered that I could just drive to the yard to ask questions. In summary, you can't call them directly and you can't get any answers from the LKQ call center. You just have to hope to get lucky once you arrive on site. read more

To put it mildly without using too much vulgarity this place stinks with a capital SUCK. I was wanting to sell them my 99 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It's old but has only 140K miles and still runs good. They offered me a measly $160 bucks! Someone on Craig's list would probably pay double that. Plus because all I had was a notarized letter from the dealer that I purchased it from. They wanted me to go to the MVA and get a new title which isn't free. Just called a 2nd junk yard on Earl's Rd. Which is offering $10 bucks less but no having to go to the MVA & forking over more hard earned cash. Not to mentionTHE LINES will drive you batty! First time for everything. I saw a commercial on television on Saturday stating that you can get up to $400.00 for any car that you can drive to this destination. I had no idea on what I was going to do with my car. The car was old and had many miles on it and the work that needed to be done was not worth the money when they could not guarantee me that nothing else would go wrong. Don't wear your best clothes here because this is one dirty place. To be expected though because it is just a car lot. I arrived before noon on a Sunday thinking this place won't be crowded. Well, I guess others had the same intentions. The employees were not bad. They helped me and another customer did make me aware not to cancel my car insurance until I have my receipt for turning in the tags. That was good to know because I sure didn't know that information. Well, I it was my turn. License and title please. Yup that's all I needed. They filled out paper work and I went to the counter to receive my cash. What I didn't know is that I was responsible for taking off my own tags. Thank goodness I had a friend with me to do that piece of work. Not a bad experiene. If you need to get rid of a car and it is driveable this is a great place to take it. read more

Pretty solid place for some of easy(and not so easy) fixtures for your vehicle, if you don't mind a bit of leg work. Basically you pick what you want, and pull. Yourself. Don't be afraid, as it's not that hard, and you might get help from the staff. Most of the cars there are American. The nominal cars of Baltimore(Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Caprice, Taurus,Town Car) are in abundance. A solid number of parts from imports as well. Anything exotic and/or English(ex. Cadillac) you're probably out of luck. (At least at this location.) read more

Here w/ my bf getting something for his work van. This is my first junk yard that I've been to but I think it's pretty neat considering. Vehicles are in rows and the rocky aisles are free from obstruction. He found what he needed and a lot of ppl were pulling parts so I'm assuming they did too. FYI Not a good date spot. Lol read more

This is a review of my experience trying to sell my clunker. I was looking to sell a damaged car to a junkyard and a body shop that is familiar with the business recommended Crazy Rays. The person who recommended it told me Ray's would give me the best price. I called them and they told me they could only give me $15 for my car because they had to charge me for towing it. While I do understand that selling a car to a junk yard means taking much less for it than it is worth in parts. However, the fee to tow a car 5 miles (I did check how far away the car was going) could not possibly be the same as what they are going to offer. Other reviews suggest that they would offer $400 for any car you can get to the location. However, I doubt that a five mile tow is worth $385. After this initial call to Ray's, I called back the people who had originally suggest this junk yard. They told me that $15 was not at all reasonable and I shouldn't accept it. They were later able to help me find something better. All that to say, Crazy Ray's is a junk yard so I supposed I should have gone in with lower expectations for their customer service. Nonetheless, it seems ridiculous that a car that is easily worth $500+ in parts would only be purchased for $15 after the towing costs. horrible people to deal with!!! Not dependable at all!!! Had a auto that didn't run and was at a repair shop. they scheduled a pick up and never picked it up. They rescheduled for four days later, they never came, and when I called about it they said " it was never rescheduled". They told me they could set up another appointment (for another day down the road of course!) these people are not dependable, and if I could give them a lower rating I would. Good for picking parts, not so great at having a car picked up. Being told "Ah sometime next week, between 10 and 6" isn't very helpful.

This rating is for Crazy Ray's car buying/pick-up service. I called and got a quote for my old car and made an appointment for pick-up. I waited around all day and no one ever came. I called Crazy Ray's and was told that someone incorrectly scheduled my appointment and there were no drivers available to pick up my car. I spoke to two staff members who were very unapologetic and short with me. For whatever reason, I decided to give them another chance and rescheduled my pick-up for the next day. The staff told me that towing hours were from 7am-5pm, but that my driver would call me in the morning to set up a time to come. At 1pm the next day when I had no heard from the driver, I called Crazy Rays--I was put on hold and hung up on THREE TIMES. When I called back, the line was busy. In total, I had to call 7 times before finally getting to talk to someone at the office. I was told very rudely that not all drivers call in the morning and that towing hours are until 5pm so "I guess you'll just have to wait." I asked to speak to a manager and was told that he was out on paternity leave. Perhaps that's the reason for this terrible experience--I hope this is not how Crazy Ray's always operates. Honestly, after all this, I would have rather just donated my car for $0. Save yourself a headache and do good by donating your old car instead of dealing with Crazy Ray's. read more

The inventory is not up to date on their website. I drove 45 minutes to find the car is not even there any more. What a joke. There are other junk yards that are much more organized and have their crap together. I would try other junk yards or auto part stores before you make the trip to Crazy Rays. Thought this was going to be a great experience and an easy way to junk my car. They offered towing and everything which would have been great if they'd actually came and gotten the car. I scheduled my pick up on for Wednesday (today) to be picked up. The car is not located at my home so I would have to drive to meet him to pick it up (about 30 minutes away). We have one car now so my husband took off work so we could finally take care of the car and get it off our friends lot. The lady on the phone said the tow truck driver would call 30 minutes to an hour prior to pick up. I call today to get an e.t.a and she says between 10-6 o_O that's an 8 hour window! She could not tell me when in that time frame or even put me on hold to ask the tow truck driver. Needless to say I've wasted an entire day waiting for the call, my husband wasted a day off from work, and the car was never picked up. I call at 5 as it's getting close to the end of the 8 hour window and what do ya know...they're closed. To say I'm mad would be an understatement. I am sadly disappointed and now have to figure something else out because I need this car moved today! I would've understood if they would had at least called to reschedule or say they couldn't pick it up today; but to just "stand us up" is unacceptable. read more
