I started going to dean automotive repair about ten years ago. My family has a lot of vehicles so…read morewe have given them lots of business over the years. Over that time we developed a trust for their work but in the past 2 years their work has taken a dive. A month or so ago my wife and I took our SUV in for an MD inspection and a repair for the washer fluid system. The repairs needed to pass the inspection were very expensive but understandable. Their explanation for them however, was very rude and condescending. The mechanics at Dean went ahead with the repairs including the washer system. For our particular vehicle the washer fluid system parts are no longer made so they told us that they would need to special order parts that would actually fit and that they would be expensive. Ok, that would have been fine if that's what they actually did, but they didn't. They took a washer fluid reservoir from a newer model of our SUV and jammed it in to fit. In doing so the reservoir ended up pushing the front bumper price down so far that the washer reservoir stuck out the bottom and looked like a diaper was stuck in our bumper. We were also billed for brand new parts when we received used parts. It does not end there. The mechanic gave us the vehicle back with the headlight bulb not plugged back into place, so it then melted wires connected to the cooling fans and popped the bulb. We informed the owner all of this and asked why no one even called to ask if it was ok to use used parts. All we received was an, "I don't know." And a, "He was supposed to call." We brought our vehicle back to have them fix the foul ups. They put all old stuff back in place in even less working order (the washer system worked with some technique but was returned completely broken). The wires were not replaced, just simply wrapped in electrical tape. And the pop rivets were put in so horribly that when trying to open the the washer fluid reservoir i end up slicing my thumb.

Even though he couldn't help me with the transmission he recommended a great guy how could and let my car stay on his property for a week so his friend at the other shop could get back from vacation. I have had great experiences so far with this shop. No repairs on the weekend though. I asked about it and he said his staff has little kids and they wanted to spend time with them. I can't be upset about that. It's worth taking the time to go to his shop.

They recommended Tim Murphy's as a place to get my car fixed so that's who I called up. Dealing with them was very easy. They sent out a tow truck to get my car and handled everything with my insurance company. I can't really comment on cost since I don't know much about the price of collision repairs but everything was within what insurance expected to pay. The repair took a few days longer than expected but was understandable since COVID has been slowing down the delivery of parts. As far as I can tell the quality of the repair work was good. We'll see how it holds up long-term but so far it feels just like it did before the accident. Visually the car looks good as well, in fact the exterior is in better shape than before it was hit.

Nevertheless I drove up in here and oh my gosh! The best! I waited until after I got in the lobby to look at their Yelp reviews. That can be scary, I found an awful review on another Yelp page and a wonderful review by a credible Yelper on this 1. She was absolutely right! To even share the body work that I thought I was coming in for is ridiculous. It's something very mynute but it's also something that another place was gonna charge me $600 for. This place told me all I needed was a screw, performed the work and didn't charge me a thing. I'm never going to say what I would have been willing to pay for a piece of mind but I am very very very very appreciative of what they did for me and I am a true believer and paying things forward. As a matter of fact I proudly already paid in advance but I'm very thankful that they were very honest with me and did the work in less than 7 minutes. What more can you ask for?
