Conner and the team in the service department really helped me when seemingly nobody else could. I had purchased a fat tire e bike online unknowingly with woefully underpowered brakes for a bike of its size. I had been having to have my brakes adjusted every 2 weeks at various locations that offer bike service on the west side of Madison. The various service departments (3) all told me that my brakes were inadequate but were unable to offer a solution. 2 of them did suggest Crazy Lenny's. They were right about that. Conner found me the perfect cable actuated hydraulic brakes. I already feel a lot safer and they should require a lot less maintenance. Kim in sales helped me schedule to have my bike picked up from a nearby bike shop in the Crazy Lenny's van. I had already arranged to have my brakes fixed; however, I got a flat near another bike shop. I had pushed my bike to the nearby bike shop. The other bike shop has a strict policy of not working on ebike brands that they do not carry and refused to fix my tire. Crazy Lenny's had my bike picked up and ready with brand new brakes installed and the flat fixed within 2 days. It probably would have been sooner if there wasn't a winter storm. I can't thank them enough! It feels like I have a brand new bike. I am pretty sure it rolls smoother than it ever has and certainly stops better. THANK YOU! read more

They are terrible. Buck up and buy a TREK with a lifetime warranty. Spent over $5,000 at Lenny's four years ago. My battery died. They want me to come pick up my bike, send out the battery to someone else and have it rebuilt. They will charge me 30% more if they handle the send out. I drive a couple hours to get to their location. They are rude. They obviously buy sub-standard brands, but their prices sure don't reflect that! For $1,000 a year I could have rented a bike for the times I wanted to ride. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT POOR SERVICE, SUB-STANDARD GOODS, AND SNOTTY ATTITUDES. I have nothing but outstanding comments for Crazy Lennys. I am 5Ft 1 and this was the fourth shop I went to to find a bike. Steve the owner took me right to the Magnum Pathfinder. It fit me like a glove. I rode it around the trails in the area and knew this was the bike for me. My husband purchased a bike at the same time. Long story but I think it reflects Crazy Lenny's. I purchased an BH e-motion from Crazy Lenny's in Winter Garden, FL (We stay there in the winter but reside in NC.) He had opened up a branch there to capitalize on the demographic of retired bike riding folks that are aging. The young man that ran the store was nice, but difficult to reach when we had a question. It would take multiple attempts to get questions answered and the bike repaired. Last winter, we learned the Winter Garden, FL store changed its name and then went out of business. We also learned that BH had made the decision to withdrawal sales from USA. Since I purchased it from Crazy Lenny's I called the Madison, WI, to tell them the e-bike was surging, would take off on it own and we needed it repaired. I was basically told by the young man on the phone we were out of luck. So, I have a $2000+ e-bike that I cannot ride without fear of death. Thank you for your lack of support Crazy Lenny. Bad vibes, awful service. Try elsewhere. The salesman, Steve, was borderline insulting, argumentative over even just banter, curt when asked legit questions, just generally unpleasant to talk to. The opposite of helpful. There had been an ad running publicly about a sale, but when asked if anything was on sale, he said, no we don't run sales. Later we point-blank asked about the ad and he admitted there was one bike on sale. Because we were interested in sub-$2k bikes, we were treated like the store didn't need our business and we were annoying them. He kept saying "we can't even get bikes now," in such a dismissive tone that it sounded like, their supply problem meant we should just go home and stop bothering them. Aventon has bikes in stock ready to go out the door. Other shops have Aventon bikes in stock. If Lenny's believes they can't even get bikes in, they're just not paying attention. Aventon is a major brand with huge buzz; they could be selling $1900 bikes instead of vibing people who are trying legitimately to buy. So, because it's close to home i went to Erik's, and got great service... they have much better brands/bikes (i was told by Lenny's that Aventon only sells online. Wrong, i now own a beautiful Aventon bike i test-drove then bought from Erik's), and everybody at Erik's was SUper nice, answering questions with enthusiasm. They were actually excited for us and our purchase. Don't waste your time at Lenny's, unless you want to feel lousy about making a multi-thousand dollar purchase... do some research and then go talk to Erik's. I don't try to give negative Yelp reviews. I usually open Yelp to give positive reviews. But we got such a bad vibe at Lenny's, and such a good vibe elsewhere, i thought it fair to encourage people to go anywhere else. read more

From the name Crazy Lenny's you would think this to be a zany place. Quite the opposite . You will find a large showroom with well displayed bikes. I was impressed that they had 150 bikes on the showroom floor. I tried hard to find a store or stores in Chicago that came even close and if they had a bike for sale they'd try to sell it to you no matter what and make you wait 2 months for it to be delivered . So I drove the 2 hours up to Madison Wi and to Crazy Lenny's where I met Chuck one of their sales people. What a great experience. No hustle no hassle professional salesman. He had me ride 5 bikes and with great knowledge explained everything to me. I bought a Magnum Ui6. He even helped with great care to load the bike into the back of my sedan. Dealing with this bicycle store was NOT a very pleasant experience! In the first place, when I went to purchase my e-bike, I gave the salesman, Steve, $300 in cash and told him to put the remainder of the cost on my VISA card. When I got home, however, I discovered that there was NO sales receipt in the box with the charger. Red flag. So I went back to Crazy Lenny's the next day to ask Steve for a sales receipt. He stated that he had emailed me the receipt. However there was NO EMAIL from either Steve or from Crazy Lenny's in my mail client. He lied! Steve printed a receipt for me in the store and upon inspection I discovered that there was NO RECORD of the $300 in cash that I gave him! He had charged the total cost of the e-bike to my VISA card and apparently pocketed the cash! When I confronted Steve on this he asked that I show him my VISA bill to prove that I was charged the entire amount! I replied that the store's own sales receipt, that he just gave me, showed the cost that my VISA was charged! It was crazy, all right. If I hadn't filed a dispute for the charge with my bank they probably would have gotten away with the rip off! To add insult to injury, right out of the gate the gears did not shift properly on my new e-bike. They were slipping all over the place, and shifting from gear 7 to gear 8 did not do anything at all. So I took the e-bike into Crazy Lenny's repair shop to have it fixed. Another bad move! I had one broken spoke on the rear wheel that I wanted them to replace as well. I was told by Connor, who checked in my e-bike, that the repairs would take "3 days." Well "3 days" turned into nearly 2 weeks before I got a call from Crazy Lenny's service department. I was told that I had "like, about 5" broken spokes, and that they "recommended" that I re-spoke the entire wheel to the tune of $175! WTF?! I told them in no uncertain terms to JUST REPLACE the spokes that were broken and NOT to re-spoke the entire wheel. At this point I am more than just a little annoyed with this place. I swear there was only one broken spoke when I brought the e-bike in, and after my experience with their cracker jack salesman Steve, I did not trust these jokers at all! I was convinced they were trying to pad the bill with unnecessary repairs. After about a week of waiting finally I got my bike back from their repair shop. They charged me nearly a hundred dollars to replace 8 spokes! To add insult to injury, the very next time that I took the bike out for a ride I noticed a clicking sound. Upon inspection I discovered that the back wheel still had a loose spoke! WTF! Rather than return to Crazy Lenny's I decided to cut my losses and take my business elsewhere. We rally enjoyed our experience with the staff at Crazy Lenny's E-Bikes. We have considered a new set of bikes for some time and after visiting the store and with the help of salesperson Noele (Sorry if I spelled her name wrong) w were able to find a bike that fit our needs. There was no pressure sales going on at all. We were provided excellent information about the different bikes available. Pricing was very reasonable, we received our boke in a week and the pick up was flawless. We have 4 different staff members work with us to better understand the equipment we purchased. I bought an ebike on Aug 22, 2021. It broke on Oct 19 while riding on a bike trail. It made a clunking sound - the chain derailleur had bent and broke two of the spokes. The trail was smooth and I was just peddling along. I took it into Lenny's service department and they said it was not covered under warranty. I talked to a salesperson about it and they said they'd talk to the manager. I never heard anything back. When I picked it up a week later, they said it wasn't covered and I would have to pay the repair bill. They said the derailleur was okay when I bought it, so it wouldn't be covered under warranty. The service rep rude and didn't care very poor customer service. I've been riding bikes for many years and I've never had this happen with any of my bikes. When you buy an expensive ebike and it breaks a few weeks later, you expect them to stand behind it. I won't be back again. read more

They advertised an ebike online for $2599 saying it was on sale BUT you could get a LOWER price by contacting them. They state they "can't legally advertise their lowest prices." I contacted them on this particular ebike and they came back with a price of $2999! Four hundred dollars HIGHER than the price listed online. The representative "Steve" just said it was because there is a shortage of ebikes. Then he LOL'd when I said it was false advertising. I'm guessing he's a millennial and that is why he has no manners or concept of common decency. Unfortunately I have always told my son that Lenny was a smart businessman. The prices are competitive. The bike is good. Customer service is disappointing. When we picked up our bikes, we had to ask for the salesman to review its operation. We asked if there were online videos or manuals and he said he didn't know. (really ? that's how well he knows the product?) So we have spent over $2,000 with this company and have no written warranties or instructions. When the salesman was done with his minimal explanation, he turned around and walked away-- didn't even help us out the door. I hope their service department does better. read more

Don't buy the "American Rider" , Is one of their lower end models at $1400. The control box malfunctioned/broke after 3 months of moderate writing. Fortunately parts are warranted for a year but not labor. I was told "this is what happens with electronics." I recommend staying away from this bike. read more

I stopped there to look for an E bike for my wife's birthday two weeks ago and Chuck did a great job of helping me find the exact bike that had all the features and functionality that my wife wanted and was in our price range. Plus he threw in a few extras, like a larger, more cushioned seat. My wife loves it and we've already taken several trips around Lake Geneva (26 miles). I had visited several other E bike dealers in my area before driving to Madison to check out Crazy Lenny's and it was well worth the drive. Another thing I appreciated was after I bought the bike Chuck went entirely through everything I needed to know to use the bike properly and took a great deal of time to make sure I knew all the ins and outs of using an E-bike. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good bike at a good price with great customer service. read more

Disappointing is being polite. Ordered from this companies website, and then fought for a month before getting a refund. They oversold the product I purchased due to poor inventory management, (their web managers excuse not my opinion). Communication was not existent never responding to email attempts to get an update. Finally filed a request for refund from PayPal that was ignored until I finally got a person on the phone and asked for a refund again. Lots of blame for systems and lack of staff, which if your not prepared for nationwide customers you should not advertise and promote at a nationwide level I would not trust them to order from them again read more

UPDATE: Just over 3 weeks in the repair shop and I'm told my repair cost involves replacing the motor at a cost of 60% of my original bike cost. E-bikes are somewhat new on the scene in the US and therefore, not readily available at local shops though that is starting to change. I was referred to Crazy Lenny's from a member on Reddit and purchased an expensive bike, after a couple false starts with this shop. It finally arrived in a box that had the serial and SKU blacked out with dirt on the tires, mileage on the odometer and even paint missing on the headtube (covered by a shop sticker, as if I wouldn't notice it). I can only surmise that they sent me a demo model. Much back/forth with the owner to arrive at an amicable resolution ended with him cursing and "have your lawyer send me a letter!" and being hung up on. Classy. With guidance from my credit card issuer, I sent the bike back ($190 out of pocket) with an expectation of a refund. I got a partial refund, minus a hefty restock fee (for sending a used back in used condition....uggh). We're now one step away from arbitration over the balance. Do yourself a favor. Avoid this shop, buy local (now that these ebikes are more common) or through vendors who aren't afraid to correspond over email. Its hard to hold someone accountable when it comes down to a he said/she said situation. read more

For the past several weeks, I've been looking everywhere for a particular Haibike model. Everywhere I called was sold out and couldn't say when or if they'd get any more in stock since Haibike seems to be in the middle of transitioning to their 2019 models. Then someone recommended Crazy Lenny's to me. They actually didn't have the particular model I wanted in stock either, but the store manager offered me an amazing deal on the next model up, which I happily accepted. They shipped out the bike a couple days later, and it arrived yesterday in perfect condition (after a little reassembly). I'm very happy with my purchase. read more

I bought my ebike, Atom X Lynx 6 27.5 +Pro from here on April 27, 2020 and had it delivered to my house in SF, CA on May 5, 2020. I thought I was getting a good deal on my bike till something went wrong with my bike and it will NOT TURN ON or WORK. The monitor will turn on for a couple of seconds and then turn off. After that, it will not turn back on!! I tried texting the salesperson (Cindy) about my problem and she doesn't respond back. I had 9 other friends that bought an ebike from Crazy Lenny's Bike and dealt with the same person. We all noticed that she would ONLY respond back to your text if you were asking to BUY or interested on another ebike!! The customer service is really bad!!! I am stuck with a $3,350 ebike that is not working. This is supposed to be a Family Owned business. This is how you treat your customers? I tried calling the store and it goes straight to voicemail!! I tried emailing the Service Dept. And other Departments that's listed on their web site. I did not get any emails back. Lenny, if you're reading this. You are the owner. Please talk to your sales reps and treat people that spent their hard earned cash in your store like you would if they were your family. I am really disappointed with your store and gives me a bitter taste buying online from another state. I cannot bring my bike there in Wisconsin. This bike is supposed to be under warranty! Ebikes are a blast; However, there are a few technical considerations. If you have a shop with knowledgeable and helpful people, you are in a much better situation. Lenny and his staff are EXTREMELY knowledgeable and also very active in the ebike community. As a matter of fact, Lenny and several other members of the shop take part regularly in the ebike forum, sharing their knowledge. The ebike forums are where others recommended Lenny's shop to me - and who best to listen to, than the ebike veteran owners?! This is a big part of what convinced me to go with Lenny's - their great reputation amongst the community. I first purchased the eflow Nitro for fun, and then a month later I purchased the Stromer ST1 for commute purposes. Lenny's shop offered me MUCH better prices than other shops, which helped me to get in the game. Ebikes are definitely worth their price, but the amounts can be daunting to someone who is completely new to ebikes. Thanks to Lenny's, I was able to get started much more easily, both in terms of finances and also in terms of dealing with the technical side of the bikes. read more

I bought two BH Easy Motion bikes four years ago. One year ago a motor failed, and they sent me a new one, under warranty. Now, this new motor has failed again. I called Lennie's to ask about getting it fixed. The first person I talked to said to just buy a new bike ($2500). BH has a five year warranty on the motor, the bike is only four years old, and the motor is only one year old. So I followed up with an email to Lennie to ask how I could get it replaced, and he called back, was immediately, aggressively contentious, and said he wasn't going to buy me a new motor, and he denied that BH has a five year warranty on the motor. The BH manual says it does have a five year warranty. So he said to call the BH USA distributor and ask them to fix it. What a horrible way to treat a customer. And what lousy customer service. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Came in after driving an hour to store. Had researched Rambo. I own 2 Strommers and was interested in Rambo for trail riding. Cost was no issue. I asked to test ride and was told by black bearded employee that we only allow test riders for serious buyer. Will buy online. Also will buy ebike for my daughter elsewhere. Bought a BH bike here a few years ago. The Lenny's people are great but the BH EMotion bikes are junk. Worked great for first year and I rode it over 2000 miles. Here is a warning to potential buyers of American Rider line of ebikes developed by Crazy Lenny's. The battery of the bike is underneath the bike rack and is difficult if not impossible to insert. Also the battery I was given did not show the level of charge unless I pressed the button on the battery, and the lights were very faint. When I test drove the ebike, they had installed the battery for me. At checkout, they took the bike in back to install a cupholder. When they brought it back, they gave me a different battery than the one I test drove with ( I knew because it had scratches). I asked if I could try to put it in to test it, but they rushed me out of the store and they loaded the bike in my car. When I arrived home, the cable was slightly damaged from the trunk. I tried to get the battery seated but did not have luck. My son got it seated but there was no power even with the key in different positions. I returned the ebike only to find out it was under warranty, but there was a 20% restocking fee. They did offer to sell me a bike for $500 dollars more. Be very careful. After researching e-bikes I decided on Pedego. Internet led me to Crazy Lenny's. I called and spoke with Gary who said he had a bike that fit my requirements and sent me a picture of it in which he described the bike as having 189 miles and a very light scratch in which he sent a photo of. We agreed on a price for the bike with shipping. Gary said he would send me confirmation of the sale by Monday. Our sale and confirmation happened on Friday. After not receiving confirmation by Monday, I called the store and asked for Gary. I was told by a male that Gary was gone for the week and to explain my deal and he would see if he approved. I explained that Gary had told me about the communication, and that Gary said the bike would ship on Monday and I would receive it by Thursday. The person who answered the phone said I don't know why Gary would have told you that, you will never get this bike by then. I then asked to speak to the owner, I was told I am Lenny the owner. I let him know that I was disappointed that Gary had told me something that wasn't true. He got angry, swore at me and said he was going to cancel the order and hung up on me. Well I did receive the bike that Thursday. It had 100 plus more miles than pictured, the damage was extensive on the bike not just a light scratch but deep gouges. I was told by Gary in an email to return the bike for a refund. Well I got my check today, and it is $190 short for the shipping. Be Very Careful This Could Be YOU. read more

Stopped by this past weekend to look at. Sales woman started talking with, quickly asking how much I was looking to spend. Yea, not ready to spend the ~$3k ballpark it seems ebikes take, more looking to see what I was getting into. After hearing my current range, all bikes way too small from my size (over 6 feet) and several passive aggressive remarks about MY blockers. Lady, sometimes sales takes more than 1 talk or trip. You pushing me into a bike I do not fit does not help at all. That's called working for the sale, not the customer. When I save a bit more money up, I will go somewhere else and anyone that goes there should be prepared for this type of sales. read more
