A cute storefront located at a convenient location, with its own parking lot and plenty of seating. They have a larger set up, meaning they can fit a lot of people inside of their establishment and they even advertised that they host parties! They have outdoor benches and when I stopped in, there were festive autumn decor outside and gave it a nice touch. So for the service and ice cream itself- service is good, ran by younger staff who try to move the line quick with making the orders. Soft serve moves fastest, shakes and banana splits take more time, makes sense. Their ice cream is under the brand Thomas Sweets and I have had that brand before in New Brunswick years ago and they are good, but a little too sweet on some flavors in my opinion. They have the usual flavors one can find in a shop ( I.e chocolate, vanilla, coffee, cookies n cream, mint chocolate chip) and they do have a sign that will list what's available that day. Always solid ice cream with a variety of options, kids cups and toppings. They used to be cash only but now they take cards which is great. I love that it's just a block from the park and just a great way to spend a summer afternoon here. I am really dying to try their ice cream cakes but I think they are a little pricey but they look delicious. It's always teenage kids working here and they're always friendly and do a great job. The shop follows its "Crazee" theme, calling menu items "manic" and "bipolar," plus the door's tagline: "institute for fine ice cream and nuts." We ate dinner nearby and since my girlfriend loves ice cream, ended up here on a Monday night. We had never been despite being in Red Bank for years. It was pretty quiet and we got some basic stuff but we enjoyed it. The girls working there were attentive and quick. My girlfriend got a cup of the hard vanilla ice cream w peanut butter pieces in it (I forget the name) and I went with soft serve vanilla with chocolate sprinkles. Honestly this ice cream flat out sucked. It tasted artificial, and wasn't creamy at all. I tried three flavors and none of them were good. I had the moose tracks, chocolate peanut butter, and the peanut butter swirl. One I had topped with hot fudge, and the other peanut butter. Even the peanut butter swirls in the ice cream didn't blend well, and it flat out tasted bad. There are much better ice cream places to go to. Wow worst customer service ever! Served a cone with one scoop hanging off the side about to fall off. Asked if they could redo and pack on right. They acted like I asked for the keys to the register! Said no they couldn't. Sourly looking manager came out and we went round and round over a $5 cone. Did they not make a million dollars this summer??!! This business, formerly owned by a local uber rich bi-polar man, markets certain specialties (Manic Mixins, Bi-Polar Ice) after psychiatric conditions which is kind of funny in an ignorant sort of way. Also, they use Thomas Sweet ice cream which tastes to me like it is partially made with sickly sweet corn syrup. Therefore the added ingredients within the ice cream get completely lost. This is not to say some won't enjoy this place as it is within strolling distance of a nice local playground/park alongside the beautiful Navesink River and offers its own parking lot and a plentitude of outdoor benches. You'll probably be able to find some serviceable treat here that does the trick but true ice cream lovers beware. For my money - especially if I am already in a car - I go the extra mile and a half to Gracie and the Dudes across from the beach in Sea Bright where the owner/manager uses fresh natural ingredients and where the distinctive chocolate ice cream is made in two gallon batches from divine cacao beans bought from a secret source often the very morning I show up to eat some = so good. Or if in the mood for mass produced goodies I go across the Oceanic Bridge into Middletown and get a Blizzard at Dairy Queen by Whole Foods. read more

The past 4 times we have gone in about 25-30 minutes before closing, the waffle bowl machines are turned off and the kiddie staff won't make new ones or turn the machines on because then they'd have to clean it again which might make them stay past closing time. We get the Elvis and Moostrax all season when available and we are Rumson residents and I am sick and tired of going in then waiting in line and then being told after waiting they won't make anymore. Tip: Make extras and if you don't sell them bag them up and sell the pieces the next day. Tonight we just got back and they had no plain large waffle cones either. Love this place. We stop here every weekend on our way home from the shore. Even if it's packed, it's still never a long wait. They have a lot of employees. I had a guy make my cone this last sunday and it seriously could've been photographed. Their portions are generous and they all know what they're doing behind the counter. I wish they had black raspberry more often, but they've had it the past two weeks so fingers are crossed for more times this summer. I have found that sometimes the ice cream isn't as cold as it could be- ie, melts too quick, but I feel like that is a common issue with every single ice cream place I've been to down there and in Bergen County! And it's not always. This past weekend it was perfection. And the taste is worth five stars. Black raspberry with chocolate sprinkles is my thing- not easy to find either! Very few places have black raspberry. They're open pretty late in the summer and have decent parking. They also have a lot of outside seating, which is key. No outside seating for ice cream and kids is the kiss of death- and why I don't frequent a place everyone seems to rave about that's near where I live! read more

Waited in a crazy line only to be told that their coffee machine wasn't working, even though their menu board includes coffee as a beverage they serve. Maybe put up a sign? "Coffee machine broken"? How hard could that be? Iffy service too, because I only got a weak "sorry" after I pointed out the line. Perhaps I'm expecting too much to think that it would make sense to offer a coffee ice cream drink instead? Seemed kind of obvious to me, but maybe they're just too overwhelmed to think that way. Love this place. Tucked away in residential Rumson, this little spot offers a variety of ice creams and cones. It's cash only, which I guess you could call "charm"? Crazee's is the best! I'm not sure why there'd be any negative reviews of this place--the ice cream is absolutely on par with my other favorite Jersey ice cream shops like Sundaes and Hoffman's.
