This place is a sleeper. We were walking around Red Bank looking for some yummy dessert and stumbled upon this cute place. We were first attracted to the interior which resembled that of a summer day on a pier, a nice change from the cold November night. We walked in and found a wide variety of flavors most of which were unique. We decided we had to try it and haven't looked back since. My favorite flavors are the superman, strawberry donut, and cookie monster. They have a bunch of other unique flavors that feature great texture (strawberry donut has chunks of donut in there) which adds an extra layer of complexity to this ice cream place. They also have delicious waffle bowls and load you up until it's overfilling. All in all its a great ice cream place and my favorite in Red Bank. I thought that was rather odd for a hot summer night, but I was happy I didn't have to wait in a long line. There was one girl working & she was very friendly. I've been back every week to try new flavors and haven't been disappointed yet! I especially recommend the Superman and lemon bar. It's like a sherbet creamsicle that's surprisingly smooth and less tart than expected. I also think the strawberry donut is very special in that it does taste like what it states itself as. It doesn't have an artificial strawberry candy flavor. Lastly the cinnamon twirl is quite spicy enough to provide that autumnal kick without overpowering the other flavors. I'm giving this business a two star rather than a one because we walked out! I was watching food network with my daughter and we saw this ice cream place, we actually watched the story behind it in Long Branch NJ. So the homemade waffle cones in different flavors as well and fancy ice cream, looked fantastic to pass up! My daughter and hubby are complete Ice cream monsters. We waited outside until the place somewhat cleared out. Social distancing isn't enforced. The second thing that turned me off was the man behind the register not wearing a mask properly! That seemed to be the theme. Groups of kids kept walking in and out mask less and it's very small and tight. I will not return to this location. read more

Wow this place smells delicious from the moment you walk in!! They have many varieties of flavors from ice cream to different types of waffle cones. My bf for the rich and famous with the rainbow waffle cone. The ice cream was delicious and he really enjoyed the cone. I got the birthday and Cookie Monster on a chocolate waffle cone. I thought my waffle cone tasted better ! Both flavors were really delicious and highly recommend the Cookie Monster flavor. Only cons is that for some reason that flavor melted at warp speed and I had blue everywhere (had to walk back in for napkins which they don't give with out asking). Also, the cones do sit out and aren't covered, which I wish they would do especially during covid. Both cones came to $15, which I thought was fair for the amount and taste of the ice cream. went to this place for the first time ever a few nights ago with friends. Ordered the waffle sundae. Waffle was beyond stale like it was sitting there for long time. It was tough and chewy. Had I known they did that, i would have never ordered that. I thought it was going to be made fresh. that was a huge disappointment. Ice cream was OK...I've had better. The owner was standing there starring at us as we sat at the tables and tried to have our ice creams. We were a group of 5 and hadn't paid yet but that was because it was only 1 young girl working and him and nobody at the register at the time. So happy I stumbled upon this place! Upon entering, you're hit with the most wonderful aroma, and you know it's gonna be a good time. I have a true allergy to dairy, so when I saw vegan options advertised by their storefront, I couldn't resist. This was about a month and a half ago, and I've been here 4 times since! (And I live in New York, haha). For those with allergies (or for vegan or lactose intolerant individuals), this place is a godsend, with a sizable selection of non-dairy flavors. I've personally tried chocolate, mint chip, and orange vanilla; and classic chocolate is the winner for me. They have a larger number of regular ice cream flavors, which was perfect for my boyfriend, who thinks vegan ice cream must be inferior (and I'm unable to try both to confirm, lol) to regular ice cream. They also have some awesome cone options, from colorful tie-dye looking ones to chocolate dipped ones. Very bright and inviting interior-great for photos. And everyone I've encountered here has been friendly and helpful! Cash only, so bear that in mind. There's an atm just inside the entrance, but of course it's best to bring cash from home/your bank to avoid fees. Highly recommend this place. Sad to say the waffles were the worst part! I ordered the brownie waffle topped with chocolate peanut butter, vanilla with cookie dough and brownies, and Cinnabon ice cream. I asked for it to be topped with Reese's cups, but the man behind behind the counter said he was was out of them because he used them to make a cake. I thought that was weird to be out of Reese's cups since on the Coney Waffles instagram page shows tons of pictures with them used for crazy shakes and topped on most of the ice creams with waffles. The brownie waffle was so disappointing! It was not hot or fresh made. It was an imitation pre made artificial waffle! I'll never order a waffle here again! If I would of known that I would of just ordered my ice cream in a cup! The ice cream isn't home made it comes from Pennsylvania. Some of the flavors are still really good and some not so much. The Cinnabon flavor ice cream was DELICIOUS, and I'd definitely come back for that flavor! Went to the new Location in Red Bank. After a long anticipation! Upon arrival we find out it's cash only, ok no problem they have an ATM on site.... 4 dollar withdrawal fee seems a bit much! We move on to ordering, with high hopes of having a churro waffle after seeing them posted to coney waffle's Red Bank Instagram page. We find out the Red Bank location does not have churro waffles, ok then why are you advertising it on red bank Instagram? Next we order only to be told numerous times toppings are extra. Went there tonight and really couldn't be more disappointed :( I've literally wanted to try this places for years! I follow hem on Facebook and Instagram and am always drooling over the pictures of huge shakes and cones that look so fun and delicious. I went with my husband and 3 kids and was hardly greeted by a miserable guy behind the counter. I told him we had never been there before and didn't know what it was all about or how to order, he just stared at me visibly annoyed. The menu is hardly a menu and doesn't explain anything. When I asked for an explanation of something he talked to the sign that just stated the name of what it was and explained it with his back to me where I couldn't hear him. The ice cream itself was nothing more than ok. It is cash only and they have an ATM machine but best to come with cash. We arrived mid afternoon so the place was empty giving us time to chose from the endless ice cream options. The young lady working there was very accommodating explaining the flavors and giving samples to try. We opted for the waffle which gave us three scopes of ice cream. It is a great way to try different ice creams. The waffle was easy to hold and no problem with it dripping down your hand like regular cones. With the amazing pictures I've seen on their website and reviews from other locations, our choice was very boring but tasted delicious. Only negative is parking which can be difficult in Red Bank. We found a spot across the street and ate our ice cream inside. They have chairs and we were told the tables are in but still being put together.
