    Fried catfish and shrimp basket.
    Rigo S.

My wife and I stopped in for some good fried shrimp and catfish and were not disappointed. We shared a single meal which was plenty for the two of us before going out for Sunday Funday. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Kickin' Kajun always delivers a good meal.

The only reason this place gets only 3 stars is because of the chairs. Let me explain, I am a big guy and have bad knees. I don't like sitting in cheap metal folding chairs, but I keep going back for the crawfish here. To be fair I haven't had anything else on the menu so I can't speak to the BBQ or anything else but the crawfish are big, flavorful and prices are about the best around

This place has huge crawfish and its BYOB! The service was good and so was the crawfish. I will definitely be back. Just FYI- A piece of corn will cost you $1.50 but the price for the crawfish is unbeatable! I had 5 pound for $19.95

Gross old soft crawfish and rotten potatoes given to you in an old dirty cooler. Don't waste your money, go anywhere else.

Working in the area so I decided to go with a local place , Google maps said it was BBQ and the reviews were for the most part good. Looks dingy from the outside but that's the area, nice outdoor area if it was sunny and warm, it's 44 right now and to me that's patio weather but not in Texas for locals. Had the crawfish burger, brisket patty with crawfish and fixings on top dang talk about a mouthful and great flavor and taste. The potatoes for the side were the little red round taters with crawfish seasoning on top and smashed up. Really a great meal, only one server working but my tea was always full and he was real quick and attentive and there were four full tables, it was a late lunch around 1:30... I will be back

Appetizers tailpipe brisket stuffed egg roll very good
    John S.

Stopped in for a quick bite after work and so happy found you on Yelp. The tailpipe appetizer was an egg roll skin stuffed with brisket and jalapeño was good but the main dish was the star. Decided on a two meat bbq dinner glad I did couldn't finish all that in one meal. Large serving of well seasoned brisket that was like meat butter . Sausage , made in house , had that perfect snap of skin and delicious. Side items were stellar! Green beans , real green beans not that mushy canned bs served everywhere but honest fresh green beans smothered in bacon . Great place

This place is horrible. Tried to tell the owners about their bad service and they blocked my wife. Left a review from my Facebook page and they instead tried to argue. Save your money. The owners sit in front of the tv and order like they are customers. The service is slow. And they will short you on seafood. You order 5lbs and they will give you 3. Order snow crab and they won't give you full clusters.

First of all let me say Wooooooooowwwwwww! You know I can tell you if you are looking for some good juicy, hot and tasty crawfish. You need to check this place out. It's super good. Just the right amount of spicy ness. You can bring your own beer, really good spot. I can't wait to bring my fiancé here. We just moved in the area, it's perfect. Customer service was amazing, didn't get the ladies name but she was very attentive on making sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. Food came out really quickly, and it was fresh. Alright alright I'll stop, I'm just so happy I found a crawfish spot, we had one in corpus and since we moved I was unsure of were to go, and a girl here loves crawfish.

The crawfish are awesome! The spicy are just as explained which is spicy. But the flavor is amazing and whoever is the cook he gets the flavor through the crawfish perfectly. I would recommend them especially if they stick to keeping the crawfish coming out fresh. Awesome place

This place is really good first time here.

Beef brisket burgers really good the only thing you're missing brother it's a seasoning like Friday's restaurant you can put your own seasoning on top of it that will really help out.

Train wreck. Bad crawfish, sat outside in a parking lot, more like a party for the workers than a restaurant.

I'd heard such good things about this place from locals, particularly someone at a church nearby…read morewhere we were visiting, so we were excited to swing by and check out one of the supposed best places in La Porte. Unfortunately, our experience was a complete miss. Parking here is awkward. There's not a proper lot, more of a driveway with grass nearby and people seem to haphazardly park with the idea that they'll be getting out in an exact order where they can just drive forward, over a curb, and exit. For those of us in smaller cars, that isn't really an option. The interior is well decorated to give an upscale feel. On a Saturday evening, they had a singer in a sequin dress and a beautiful voice that made it sound like you were listening to the kind of songs you'd hear on Sunny 99.1 or on Delilah's request show, but live. Right off the bat, we had issues with the drink orders. Items were missing, they were serving tea to people who ordered soda, sweet tea to people who ordered unsweet, etc. The worst was a drink from the bar that came out incorrectly THREE times. After the third time, the waiter offered to comp her something else. My friend took the waiter's offer and ordered a soft drink, but the bartender brought out the drink a fourth time anyway. When she got the bill, the soft drink was charged and the fourth take on the alcoholic beverage, which she never drank, was "comped" after she'd already told them she didn't want it anymore. The waiter dared defend what happened, which I felt was in poor taste since HE was the one who offered to get her something else at no charge. The entrees took forever to come out. We don't know what happened, but we were waiting almost an hour for the food. I was ready to get the hell out of there, and had it just been my wife and me, we probably would have. Unfortunately, we were in a bigger group and we all had long drives home, so we didn't want to be rude. The food was completely forgettable. I don't know of anyone who had anything good to say about what they got. My pork belly was decently seasoned and cooked through, but not quite well enough cooked to give the kind of sizzle and texture that made it worthwhile. The portions were also so small that I wasn't satisfied. My wife ordered the fish and chips. Instead of a whitefish or catfish, they served her fried salmon. The flavor and texture was... subpar... at best, and hardly the kind of thing you'd expect when ordering Fish & Chips in the south. Rather than wait another 30 minutes for a replacement entree, and probably get it wrong given how they were handling the drink orders, she powered it down and we mutually decided that we'd never bother to stop by this place ever again.

My family and I were in Galveston and decided we want to grab lunch before heading back to town. I…read moreremembered the name Pier 6 from two different group of friends so thought I should look it up and see where it was on the map. Luckily, it was somewhat on the way back so we decided to give it a try. Rolling through San Leon made us question if we were going to the right place. It didn't feel lively and definitely was not giving 'Coastal Chic', like how Pier 6 has been described. Upon arrival, it was a totally different vibe and 'Coastal Chic' is a fitting description for the place. We were seated right away and they offered a high chair for our little one. We started out with fresh oysters and a flight of margaritas. If you're an oyster fan, it's worth getting the oysters. Super fresh. The flight presentation was so beautiful. My husband and I had fun trying the different margaritas. The blue one was coconut flavored. It reminded me of a piña colada but with tequila. We were surprised that we liked this one. The pink one was watermelon flavored. We could taste the smokiness of the mezcal in it. This was a nice, not sweet drink. The white one was their classic take on margarita. We thought this one was too sweet for our taste buds. The orange one was mango and I think chamoy. This reminded me of the Mexican candy Lucas - sweet and tangy. All drinks were finished. LOL Now to the main dishes. My husband had the Mahi Mahi and said the fish was fresh and had a good amount of seasoning on it. The risotto and mushroom was a solid pairing with it. He cleared the dish. I had the tomato salad and clam chowder. Their tomato salad was so good. It was light and refreshing. I love that there were dill and capers too. Their clam chowder is definitely different compared to others I've had. The soup was more like a light creamy broth. The clam is served whole. Oyster crackers were also in it vs served on the side. Even though it was different, I didn't mind it and killed everything. Service was as expected for the time of day. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would make the trip to the San Leon area again. A few notes: Pier 6 does have a kids menu and there's changing table in the restroom, along with some diapers. This place is in between Kemah and Galveston. It's about 15 minutes drive from Kemah and 25-30 minutes drive from Galveston.

Well I realize I completely forgot to write a review for Pier 6 when we came to visit in November…read more2025. Pier 6 menu changes from time to time. We had ordered: * Thai salad : 1/5 nothing Thai about this salad and it was terrible. * 2 dozen raw oysters: 4/5 decent good for Nov. * seafood gumbo: 1/5 we had the gumbo here before and it was decent but this time it was not the same and tasted like burnt roux which should never be served. * burger with a gravy sauce: 1/5 The brown sauce was pour around the burger and the burger was placed in the center. The burger bun was soggy and the worst burger we ever had. It was the strangest burger because we couldn't pick it up to eat it since it was soggy from the pour of the brown sauce. This burger was $25+ which was uneatable. The beef patty was unseasoned and dry. Fast forward March 2026, after the last dining experience we almost didn't want to come back. Only reason was for the oysters. We were happy to see the items that we really enjoyed was back on the menu! *Only fried shrimp $24.99: 5/5 comes with coleslaw, stellar jalapeño hush puppies which is the best I've had!, and fries. The shrimp is fresh and good size! Nothing beats a texas gulf shrimp! *Tide to fried $28.99- 4/5 comes with fried tx gulf shrimp, fried oysters, and fried red snapper, Cole slaw, hush puppies, and fries. The fired oysters were so good!!!! Like wow and well seasoned! So fresh! The shrimp is perfect! Red snapper super disappointed because it was super fishy. I do not recommend the fried red snapper. Next time definitely get the only shrimp or only oysters combo and pass on the tide to fried which included the fried snapper. *3 dozen oysters - $14.99 per dozen: 5/5 the oysters in March a plump and juicy! So much better than Nov (early season) oysters. The oysters Unfortunately had shells from shucking the oysters so when eating them I bite into shell and thought I almost cracked a tooth. Quality of the oysters great 5/5. The shucking and handle of the oysters 1/5. No guest should eat shuck raw oysters bite on shell. That's a law suit waiting to happen and I hope this establishment does better because we love their freshness of their oysters. *Ocean water $6 happy hour : 5/5 reminds me of sonic ocean water except spiked lol *Watermelon slush $6 happy hour: 1/5 it was so strong and I felt the smokiness was too much. Love the ocean water more because it hides the alcohol and easy to drink. Service was meh. The place was packed at 5pm on a Friday. Not sure why our entrees and drinks came out before our appetizers which I felt was inappropriate. We had to flag down our waiter a few times for items. He did check in with us once after we got our food and took our first bites. Do I recommend Pier 6? Based on this recent visit I am glad I didn't write them off and yes. The food was great minus the oyster cleanliness. Definitely a favorite place for oysters and the best fried shrimp/oyster plate the area and Galveston even. Only negative is the blasting of the music. It's so loud we can not hear our conversation and will induce you a guarantee headache. It does not matter if you sit inside or outside.. it's the same noise level which is concert loud. The videos killer outside and so beautiful but I feel the blaring of music takes away from the charm of this place. If you are into rowdy loud places this is for you. Other than that, maybe distract one self by ordering happy hour drinks so it helps with the intense loud music.
