Hung and Thomas are the best servers ever! Every time I come, they greet my party with a smile! They are always attentive and friendly! The food is always amazing! The Rockefeller oysters are probably my favorite, but that Cave Sauce is honestly one of the best seafood boil sauces I've ever tried! They have patio seating as well if you want to enjoy the street view, but the inside is where I typically sit because it's cozier for me. We came for the deluxe bucket, but the price has gone up so much over the years that the old menus posted were wrong. However, the bucket below the deluxe was still very well worth it for three people if you add on an order of garlic noodles. I can not emphasize enough how good the noodles are. They close earlier on Sundays but the staff was great. they let us eat our candy apple which was nice. The crab stays warm through the entire meal and the spices are great. We got the spicy and I would recommend one lower than that if you want to enjoy it without your sinuses being cleared if that isn't your thing. Over all very great food and the place was not too busy which helped the vibes. I think they should be busier though for how good everything was! read more

Shrimp not too flavorful but large in size. *** 4-Clam chowder, New England style. Ive been on a oyster kick as of lately so i was over the top excited when i saw that Crawfish cave was 1. so close and 2. super affordable. They have Monday through Friday happy hour $1 oysters but there is a dozen limit per person, soooOo.. If you're going to eat dozenS this inst the place for you. We got 2 dozen and went in! The oysters are served with cocktail sauce, horse radish and limes. I actually loved their horse radish, it was bitter but the perfect amount for our oysters. The day we visited they had blue devils. There were some inconsistencies with them, some were very meaty and large and the others were on the smaller end. Beyond that they were really really good, I liked them a lot, so much we were back a day later! They also have fresh steamed seafood bags and family style options that you can choose from. Visit: first time, February 2023 I love Boiling Crab but it's fairly out of the way for me so I end up only going once a year. SERVICE was lackluster and inexperienced. There were two individuals working the front of house, which I think was enough considering the traffic in the restaurant. It took awhile for them to bring our beverages, it appeared that something was wrong with the tap. It was confirmed once the drinks arrived and they were not carbonated and not cold (I sent it back) FOOD was inconsistent. The stuff that was good, was tasty. We got 2# shrimp 1# crawfish. We enjoyed the seasoning consistency a little better because it tasted more water-based (versus oil based) compared to BC. The shrimp tasted fresh, I would order it again. Crawfish tasted like it was frozen and cooked and refrozen and cooked, bad and I would not order again. Garlic noodles and tater tots were cooked and seasoned well, would order again! OVERALL IMPRESSION - the nasty crawfish scared me, but the items that were good MIGHT have me give them a second chance in the future, but probably not. read more

3.5/4 Hear me out. I'm a huge fan of boiling crab because it's super saucy and deep in flavor. My tastes buds weren't dancing when I came here and ordered the whole shabang. There honestly wasn't much lemon flavor or garlic. We ended up squeezing a plate full of limes (which we really appreciated that they gave it to us without asking) and that helped a tad bit. Also too, I think there was quite a lot of msg because tmi, but my stomach was struggling and got major food coma. But here are the pros: -cha2o is in the plaza -excellent customer service -lots of parking spaces -truffle fries were on point and super amazing in flavor -shrimp and clams were fresh -potatoes are massive Cons: -sauce is quite bland -they don't allow you to order 1/2 or 1/4 of anything. Decided to stop at Crawfish Cave for a quick snack because I didn't want a full blown meal and because I read great things about them. Was the first guest to arrive so we were seated right away. Our server was really nice, gave us a couple minutes to look over the menu. We ordered French Fries, Dozen Oysters and Fried Chicken Wings. Food was good, price wasn't too bad. Look at that smoke! I love it. We tried almost all crawfish place nearby, so we decided to drive a bit further for the food. I have to say, this place did not disappoint. The sauce was flavorful and had less buttery/oily flavor that you usually taste at Boiling Crab. The Fried Basket was crispy from the outside and moist in the inside. Came here a few weeks ago for my niece's birthday around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. We had a party of 21 people. It wasn't very busy but did pick up later on. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. Workers were very nice. My hubby and I ordered the deluxe bucket special - cave style medium spice which includes 1 lb king crab, 1 lb snow crab, 1 lb shrimp (I got head on), 4 pc andouille sausage, 2 pc corn and potatoes. For our kiddos, fish and chips and chicken tenders with fries. The food came out pretty quickly. We really enjoyed our food. The seafood was fresh and the flavor was on point! Their calamari was really good too. I think my only complaint regarding the food was the rice. It was a little mushy which isn't my preference but maybe others like it that way. My girlfriend and I were craving cajun/creole food and we definitely didn't want to wait in the line for Boiling Crab. We also wanted to try something new so we decided to make the drive out to Fullerton. It was a GREAT decision. Food: The food is generally the same as any other divey cajun seafood restaurant with crawfish, crab legs, etc. However, the food tastes waaay better than Boiling Crab, Kickin' Crab, Submarine Crab combined. The seasoning they put into the seafood mix (which might be orange crab sauce) made the food taste amazing, which I don't normally see. I opted for the mussels with cajun + lemon pepper seasoning and I ended up eating my chowder fries with the sauce for the mussels! It was THAT good. Sheesh. The chowder fries were good too, much better than Slapfish's chowder fries. I personally liked the blend of seasoning with the cheese and the chowder sauce. Good stuff. All of our food was good. My girlfriend got the shrimp head on with the whole shabang kind of sauce (I think they call their's "all-in"). Service: Service was great. No wait time on a Monday around dinner time since I'm guessing that since it's located in downtown Fullerton, the whole street is empty during the week. There were other people there of course, but not enough to make the ambiance really loud. Just good enough to enjoy a meal in peace! The servers were really helpful and friendly and didn't look tired, stressed, or unwilling to help us out with our first visit. The Cajun garlic fries were the highlight of the dinner and I was left craving more. We also ordered the spicy street corn (not pictured) and that sh*t was SPICY. I normally can handle spice quite well but my entire mouth and lips burned up and I had to suck on ice for a good couple of minutes. My friends thought I was being dramatic until I made them each try a bite, and the whole table was near tears. Comparable to the atomic spice. When we asked the waitress what kind of spice it was, she claimed it was cayenne and Tabasco but I don't know... Try if you're feeling ballsy. Service was slow considering how many tables were filled. Of course, I don't think this had anything to do with the waitress but the lack of workers? I'm not sure. Parking is free if you park right in front of the restaurant! If you park anywhere else in the lot, you have to pay for parking via the app. I didn't get the guys name, but he was extremely friendly and answered all the questions we had, which is a plus! I recognize excellent customer service when I see it. We ordered three pounds of crawfish (Cajun style) and three pounds of crawfish (Garlic Butter). I didn't really care for the Cajun style but the garlic butter was amazing! I love crawfish & that garlic butter already has me wanting to go again ASAP! The level was spicy was perfect! I want to say it wasn't really busy because we got there around 1 PM and they close at 2:30 PM to reopen for dinner. And nowwww for the most important part of the review. The most obvious and what the people look for: THE FOOD. The best part were the "ALL IN" garlic noodles with medium spice. By far the most delicious garlic noodles. We got half a dozen fresh oysters, baked garlic Parmesan oysters, one lb of spicy mussels. What made it better was the service. Ate 2lbs of seafood by myself and almost exploded. Girlfriend ate 1lb and was at good level. I think around 1-1.5lb is good per person. We took it for take out. They packed everything for us. table top cover, salt, pepper, limes, ketchup & ranch for our garlic Cajun fries. You do need to ask for the apron thing if you like to use it.
