I LOVE cravings. I come here about 3 times a week- at least- and get coffee, or a grilled Roma (delicious vegetarian option on the menu) or a butter croissant or their delicious, soft, moist sweet bread... anyway, you get the point. I've always had good experiences, and the staff has always been as friendly as time allows them to be. It gets suuuuper busy in there sometimes. But I've worked in the service industry since I was 17, so I understand it gets stressful and you can't always have a big happy smile on your face. So I have the patience of a saint when it comes to people in the service industry. I've never seen them be openly rude to someone, and considering how often I go, I would imagine I'd see something like that at least once. However, if you're looking to be waited on hand and foot, perhaps this is not the place for you; there are fine dining options all around. But if you're looking for tasty beachside food that's pretty healthy depending on what you choose, and reasonably priced considering they probably have a rent to pay, and their ingredients aren't cheap- this is the place for you! Not very pleased with the service at this place. First I ordered a açaí bowl and it took 25 minutes to come out and it was hot and melted, I threw that away and ordered a egg bacon and cheese bagel and when I got it I was eating it until i pulled a long hair out of inside of the egg. I love the ice cream here but I genuinely have never encountered ruder employees. I went twice in this past week and both time I was treated horribly to the point where I had to ask if I did something wrong that upset them. Reasons we like Cravings: convenient to our typical VB hotel (Costa), quick service, wide variety of items. Feel is of an old ice-cream shop/deli...little but cramped if there are more than three people being served. Best for 'grab and go' snacks. Limited inside seating, some patio seating. Went for a bike ride up to Vero and had a breakfast sandwich there. Good food. Decent prices. Yummy coffee. Cravings is convenient if you live on the beach, but the place is always disappointing and most times frustrating. The way the interior is designed is unorganized-for some reason they decided to squish tables and chairs in an already small space, so that if you are standing in line (there is ALWAYS a line) your back is right up against someone trying to eat. I understand Vero Beach restaurants capitalizing on the wealthy clientele, but only if you have the goods to back it up. Their sandwiches are average, and their coffee and milkshakes are some of the worst I've ever had. They haven't taught their young wait staff to make a decent espresso. The one redeeming quality at Cravings is the pastries.. The pistachio nut bread and blueberry muffins are to die for. If you get a lunch sandwich and a beverage you'll be paying around $15 for sub-par food. Take your money to Red Onion down the road. read more

Been a fan of Cravings since I worked across the street st Costa d'Este. They make great ice cream and sandwiches. The line can get a little long around lunchtime and the service is a little impersonal but still good. The have seating outside and inside. Always go for the coconut ice cream! This little eclectic spot was really some where I wanted to love. The ice cream was good, but not worth the $16 we paid for 2 cones. I may be a little spoiled because I had the pleasure of growing up with Valpo Velvet, which is home made, velvety deliciousness that you can watch them make. Overall, I'd compare the ice cream here to a Baskin Robbins, but at a higher price tag. The food was really not worth it in my opinion. Honestly, we could have made the sandwiches at home, and saved the $20. Ask the locals, and eat somewhere else before eating here. Everyone recommended The Citrus Grill, and The Lemon Tree (I think that's what it was called), and they were right down the street. We asked after we ate. I think what really got me was the general attitude of the staff there that day. I think the manager (or I'm assuming it was the manager) must have been having a bad day. She kept yelling across the tiny place to the other workers. And, her demeanor was rude and unpleasant. I can't imagine working for someone like that. There was a lady in training who was helping us, and she was really sweet, but I can't imagine getting yelled at across the room feels like, especially if it happens all day long. I guess go for the ice cream if you're craving something more BR and not DQ, but walk around, don't stick around to listen to the unpleasantness. My family owns a condo about a 20 minute beach walk from Cravings, and me and my father do daily morning walks to cravings whenever we're in town. It's so refreshing to walk down the beach and up across that nice, green park, just to sit down and enjoy some fresh baked treats! I usually get the ham and cheese croissant, which is just to die for. That, along with a coffee or an Indian River orange juice in the little plastic bottles, and it's a perfect breakfast. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here, from the pastries to the funny novelty candies to the ice cream. The patio is a great place to enjoy the food, listen to the waves, and lap up the beautiful Florida warmth. I love Cravings! read more

I have read the reviews and I think most of the single stars comments are laughable. This place is a hole in the wall and a great find. A little expensive but a great treat for a beach day. This is one of the few dog friendly places in Vero Beach and very comfortable. My wife loves the Kevin, a smoothie and energy drink, as well as the green goddess. Take it from a native that the staff may be rude to the overbearing and often know-it-all visitors from the north, but the staff has always been pleasant when I have stopped in. Tons of sweets to try and the downfalls are the confusing "lines" that form to order and a little expensive but normal for the neighborhood. read more

First things first, the food here is simply divine. No matter what you get whether it be a wrap, sandwich, ice cream or a croissant, it is all delicious. Unfortunately the delicious food is outweighed by the poor customer service from the staff, which ultimately kills the vibes of the restaurant and brought the rating from a five star to a three. From yelling at the customers and each other to varying the amount of food in each size and simply giving attitude when attitude is not needed towards their paying customers and on one occasion in particular they made us stand outside in the hot sun. I would not have gone inside form the looks outside. I thought it was a coffee shop or bakery. As it turns out they serve everything. More coffee drinks than Starbucks, a bakery, an ice cream shop, and diner. I love Cuban sandwiches. I've had Publix, many from various places in Miami and Tampa and theirs was hands down the best I've ever had. Went because I was "craving" a fresh fruit smoothie. I ordered a dairy-free strawberry, but it tasted like straight up orange juice. I had to ask them to rename it with more strawberries & to add sugar. They did, but it still wasn't worth the $5. I've had much better smoothies from chain such as Tropical Smoothie. We walked into Cravings for come ice cream. I ordered the cookies and cream - which was perfectly creamy and delicious. My husband ordered the red velvet. And OMG, I FINALLY like red velvet! Great ice cream and snick snacks! The perfect ending (or middle or start) to a day of shopping on the beach. It's very tight quarters however so I couldn't imagine eating a meal here, but a quick snack on the patio/sidewalk is great!
