Countryside Citrus is a five generation harvester of Indian River Citrus, orange and grapefruit. They grow, harvest, and ship Indian River Ruby Red grapefruit, white grapefruit, oranges, honeybell tangelos, and tangerines. You can visit their farm or this beachside location next to their El Cid Taqueria. My friend Rachel M. had been to this location for orange soft serve that looked delicious. I was in the area so I made a point to stop by. The location is very small but it gets the job done. On one side you can get tacos and on the other ice cream. You can also order citrus or purchase fresh juice and local honey and grown and made in Florida food items. The young lady who helped me was so sweet and friendly. I ordered the orange slushie topped with the orange soft serve. A small was around $6 and was the embodiment of the Sunshine State. The slushie was made with orange juice without additional sugar so it was tart. As the ice cream melted in something magical happened and it was orange creamsicle perfection. A lot of people get the vanilla mixed in to achieve even more of this flavor. I would love to visit the Countryside Citrus farm in Vero where they have festivals, sunflower picking, and sell produce and other treats. The citrus industry is dying out in Florida. I have been looking for a family run farm to order Honeybells from for years with little success on finding one with high quality fruit. My Honeybells arrived 10 days ago and they are perfect. Flavor and Juice is spectacular. Visually they are also unblemished. These are the best I've had in a long time. I've tried so many farms. Let me also tell you about their customer service. My ruby red grapefruit arrived today in the frozen tundra of the Midwest. When they arrived they were frozen solid. They were only on my front door step for about 2 minutes before I pulled them inside...so it must have been in transit (I can only imagine how cold the delivery trucks are in the back). So I called customer service and they were so friendly and responsive and are sending a replacement package. I was already sold on the farm from the high quality Honeybells shipment....this is now my go to for citrus! read more

So wonderfully refreshing. We were strolling through Ocean Drive in Vero Beach where it is a Main Touristy side checking shops out, and I knew this was one of the places I wanted to stop. It shares a space with El Sid Taqueria, a taco shop also owned by them. I honestly thought this spot would be bigger, but they also have their farm location in Vero Beach. Hopefully I can get there today to get Sunflowers. Here, They have their ice cream, pies, orange juice, slushes, soft serve. I ordered their creamsicle soft serve - orange and vanilla, and my hubby had their horchata soft serve. They were both tasty and I definitely preferred my fresh citrus flavor while his, for me, was a lot of cinnamon. Countryside Citrus is located in the heart of Ocean Drive, a few businesses away from Mulligans and Ocean Grille. My partner and I went to Countryside during the Coronavirus outbreak and they had their operation setup outside and had all customers spaced out properly. They had some of their menu options on chalkboards outside, but I wanted one of their fresh frozen orange juice slushes after seeing them on Yelp. I asked one of their employees about their slush and ice cream options and she was very friendly and listed off what they had available. At the time, you could choose from size small or large, and all slush or slush/ice cream mix. My partner ordered a size small slushie and I ordered a size small mix ($4.50 each). They delivered up both very quick and were both very tasty! He combination treat reminded me of the orange/vanilla ice cream (Creamsickle) popsicle I used to eat as a kid. I would say it's a must try! I really wanted to get the yogurt/orange slush combination after seeing it on Yelp, but was told they didn't have it available. Not sure if it just wasn't available with the limited Coronavirus operation or if they just aren't making it anymore. But either way, the operation and the food quality was amazing! read more

We visited the Countryside Citrus & El Sid Taqueria on the boardwalk at Vero Beach. The line was out the door, so expect a 10-15 minute wait to order if coming during peak times or a nice beach day. I got the orange slush with vanilla ice cream, which was sensational. The slush was super citrusy and tart, which was a perfect compliment to the creamy vanilla soft serve. We also tried chips and queso and the chicken and cheese tamales from the taqueria. You can order from both Countryside Citrus and El Sid at the same counter, which is convenient. The tamales were delicious, flavorful, and very filling. The chips came out piping hot, and the queso was topped with salsa and cilantro which was a delicious addition. The prices were reasonable, especially for a relatively touristy area. There is outdoor seating in front, as well as additional seating in the back. The coffee slushie is literally the best frozen coffee drink I've ever had. It is smooth, sweet, and creamy and best of all it does not separate into ice chunks as you drink it. The consistency remains the same sip after sip! I am NOT a sweet coffee person, but this one is worth it for a treat. I highly recommend it for any one! I ordered grapefruit from them for the second time because the first shipment was very good. It did not arrive within the timeframe promised. Each day thereafter Fedex said it was going to be delivered but it wasn't. Today (4 days late) Fedex claimed it was delivered but that was a barefaced lie. I was right here waiting. No one came. Nothing was delivered. I emailed Countryside each day complaining about this situation and never got an answer. This is frustrating and Countryside isn't trying to fix it. I mail-ordered citrus_ one tray "Scarlet red navels and grapefruit." Cost $40, $54 including shipping. After hearing nothing for just over a week I called. I was told the shipment was due to arrive that day. It didn't. I called the next day and was told it had only shipped the day before. No big deal if the fruit was worth waiting for. It wasn't--by a longshot. 9 tiny and mostly green navel oranges (one was spoiled) 5 small grapefruits. I ate one grapefruit. It was extremely bitter, no better than the ones I buy in the supermarket. Deducting the spoiled orange, my cost came out to be $4.15 per piece of fruit! One of the worst investments I've ever made. A mistake not to be repeated. read more

Just got my box of navel oranges and grapefruit and it is disappointing! The navel oranges have dry areas and the ruby red grapefruit are just ok. Nothing special. I've gotten better grapefruit & oranges at the grocery store. Don't bother. Find some place else. ***UPDATE : Immediately got a response from Countryside, they explained that I probably get an early picking and they have set me up to get a replacement shipment at peak of season. She also spoke of t andhe impact of all the rain affecting the flavor of the early fruit as well. I have updated from 1 to 3 stars & look forward to the new shipment in a few weeks. YES! I have no idea why I waited so long to check this place out! I loveddddd my experience here. My family and I wanted to show my future mother in law around my little beach town but it was so hot so we were trying to find anything to make it a little more bearable. Well Countryside Citrus was exactly what we were looking for. It is located right by the beach and among the cute beach shops in Vero. The store front is really small but it makes you feel like you're experiencing a secret treasure. Once you wonder in there are very cute little gifts that you can look at while you wait your turn. The you get up to the counter. We had 2 choices: OJ or Coffee. They gave us some samples and all of us had trouble deciding! Honestly this is going to be my new Vero coffee shop, that coffee milkshake type thing was AMAZING. The OJ and the coffee were both so good, all of us were sharing them. My nieces got snow cones and they were given multiple flavor options. Once we got our drinks we sat outside for a few minutes at the little table in front of the shop. Then we started to walk in the hot sun. My MIL mentioned many times "wow it is like I am holding an air conditioner!" My recommendation: DONT MISS COUNTRYSIDE CITRUS! read more

The orange ice cream is phenomenal; this is what always keeps us coming back. They've always had space issues though. Originally, the store was really small and offered only a few select seats outside, which were always taken. Then they bought the space next door and expanded the store, which I thought would be an improvement. But they added a taco shop into the new space. So now the space is even more crowded than before, plus they can't keep up with extended menu. And half of their machines seem to be out of order each time we go. read more

I live in Orlando and typically visit Disney for my ice-cream and juice fix and happened to be in Vero visiting a friend who had found this place on Yelp :) We were SO happy to discover this place as it reminded me of home and the Dole Whips at Disney. The truck inside is a nice feature but it takes up so much space, right when you walk in the door your at the counter. 2. The theme was executed poorly. I can't attest to the taste of the oranges but I can review the customer service and the internet ordering. DON'T order. I ordered for the holidays for my son's teachers in the beginning of December for delivery the week of 12/10. When they didn't receive it, I called on 12/18 and was told that they would send it 2-day for delivery on Wednesday. Still haven't received it by Thursday and school will close this afternoon so hopefully there won't be a bunch of rotten oranges waiting for them when they return January 2. The customer service person I spoke too was unfriendly and not helpful and only refunded the shipping charge $13.99 when I pressed giving me the excuse that I shouldn't use the internet to order and call.
