Mother's Day night and my wife wanted a nice dessert. I looked on Yelp and found Butter Cup Bakery Cafe. Neither of us had been here. The reviews and pictures looked amazing so off we went. It's in what's called the Miracle Mile shopping area in Vero Beach. Very nice storefront, we were immediately greeted and welcomed once inside. A lovely display case filled with delectable looking cakes and cupcakes. Next to that was a cooler with various exotic flavors of gelato. My wife got the fudge brownie and I got the vanilla coconut. Both out of this world and like the Reese's old commercial together they tasted amazing. We also ordered a strawberry cupcake with white frosting and topped with coconut and a sliced strawberry on top. Looked and tasted wonderful. We found this perfect place on our way back to our condo! My husband had the Affogato and the rest of us had regular gelato, but this was nothing but regular. It was delicious, although a bit pricey, but worth the money spent. We also appreciated that the counter server was extremely friendly and gave adequate time to sample before making our selection. read more

Very disappointed! I wanted to bring something special to a friend so waited Sunday until they opened. Extremely limited choices. When I asked the lady why, she said bakers were off for a week. I do think the flavor offerings at sweet kiss could be improved as I feel that they are too simple or too over done. When this storefront first opened, I believe they had a better offering of flavors. I would caution folks that they do not offer traditional flavors of gelato so be open minded when trying this location. The quality of their food though is unmet! The cannoli was pipped fully and the small gelato is more than enough and filled about the brim line. Service: This is where Sweet Kiss truly shines! Their employees were willing to provide us with as many samples as requested, answered any questions about ingredients, and did not make us feel rushed in any way. Ambiance: I think Sweet Kiss could improve on the ambiance. While the inside is kept clean, the store is modern and a lot of printed out sides regarding their food options, which could be consolidated. Great little food store with Gelato and some very, very limited bakery items . I had a Panini that was made fresh and very tasty. The gelato in a cannoli shell was very, very good. I have had better cannoli shells but it was definitely good. You get a good amount of food with your sandwich and makes it an outstanding value with a drink included too. On the suggestion of my coworker, she swore by this place as the best gelato in town. Since I've had a good amount of Gelato, I was wondering how good it was. And to be honest for my taste (and if you know/have read my reviews, I don't have a sweet tooth), it's on the sweet side. I mean, all of the gelato flavors were on the sweet side. For that, I couldn't find any flavors that went along with my taste and I can't say that I'm a fan of this place. However, this gelato spot has played the heart strings of the town and I can see why. The gelato itself was creamy, the serving size was generous, and the price of it wasn't bad. There was wide selection of flavors and the owner seemed pretty popular with everyone. But for me and what I've had in the gelato space, this place was just alright. I've had better. But for this town, this place should be treasured. Delicious gelato! Stopped here after reading such great reviews on Yelp. My expectations were high and sweet kiss did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The flavors change frequently, daily for sure and sometimes during the day. I got the Forever Love which was chocolate with peanut butter. My friends got WOW and the Mandarinette which was vegan and so refreshing. The two girls working were helpful and sweet. My thighs are happy I don't live near here because I would not have the self control to stay away. But when I'm in town I will definitely check out the daily flavors and get my fix. This is what happened last night: Sweet Kiss has always been one of my favorite places to go for gelato...the gelato is excellent with unique flavors. Now for the rest of the story: We arrived at 6:30 PM and there was a line to get into the store, which is unusual as the service has always been prompt. However, on this visit a gentleman was cleaning the front of the display case...taking his time...so every customer was put "on hold." Best gelato I've had to date! Tastes pretty darn near identical if you were to buy gelato off the streets in Italy. I love how the menu gets changed up on the daily, and the friendly staff are very helpful in providing info on each gelato flavor and what its made with. You get to sample whichever flavors you want which is also super helpful (and maybe makes decision making a bit more difficult lol). So far my main favorites are the Ferrero Rocher and the Kookie napolitan(?). The best part I love that they offer are the vegan/gluten-free options as my husband cannot have any wheat or dairy, so for him being able to enjoy such a treat makes his week! Sweet Kiss was suggested to me as the best gelato in town, and after having gone I wholeheartedly agree. It was oppressively hot the day I went, and Sweet Kiss rescued me! I ordered the Ferrero Rocher chocolate flavor, expecting it to be too rich to finish, but it wasn't! It was the perfect balance of chocolate. I also had a scoop of the Amarreto with coconut. It was literally hidden cause its not in a very good location as its further behind the plaza in front of these parking spaces. I tried the strawberry and mango. Both were really creamy and thick but not too sweet. I could taste the mango and strawberry. I also tasted something that called the opera?? or something that had nutella and chocolate and wafers in it. It was all very good. I am a self proclaimed ice cream snob and I'm telling you all that this is the BEST gelato/ice cream place I've ever tried! If you are in the Central Florida region it is worth the drive. I had a flavor that included chocolate, orange, yogurt and cookies ... well I truthfully had two flavors. The second one was mom's favorite and it was a taste sensation. I need to return soon to try the Raspberry Rendezvous but a gal can only eat so much in a day. My kids were begging me to take them back for desert after dinner. I just might return twice in one day.
