    Salmon Orleans, mashed potatoes, broccoli

Crave is always a good bite! Our party of four adults and two kids were seated quickly even though it is a Friday night. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. Food arrived quickly and was served hot! I ordered the Salmon Orleans- grilled salmon with a honey garlic sauce, paired with shrimp and two sides. The zucchini fries were a delicious app and Crave has a delicious house made ranch! Before you go though- it's a little pricey for the area but everything we had tonight was good!

If this resturant was in Raleigh, it would be a solid 3. It's in the middle of nowhere in Sparta, NC and for this area, it's a solid 4. The resturant is very clean with a personable and helpful staff. The menu has completely changed from what is posted....it's 1/4 the size. The lasagna is not covered in Alfredo as pictured just 3 months ago. Sadly, that would have improved the rather bland flavor. The breadstick is not homemade. The standout was the peppercorn dressing on the salad. It was advertised as homemade and is really really good. I'd eat here again given the choices.....just don't expect authentic italian....

Italian Wedding Soup...it's to die for! So good I went and got more for takeout the next night!

We had the most excellent meal at Crave while vacationing in Sparta. From the moment we were seated, our entire experience, from appetizer, dinner, and service, was top notch. After a day of traveling we were starving so we ordered the Artichoke and Spinach dip along with our main courses. You do NOT wanna miss this dip y'all...it was so sooooo good! The only thing better than the dip was the Italian Wedding Soup that came with my lasagna entree. It's probably one of the best soups I've ever had. It was so good that I got a take out order of it again the next evening. While I feasted on the wonderful soup, my husband devoured all the wings and raved about them the whole time. Our server was exceptionally nice and attentive. She made great suggestions and made sure my tea glass stayed full...which is always a plus in my book! Our entrees were wonderful as well, but to be honest, we were so stuffed by the time they arrived that we wound up boxing them up and ordering a to-go Tiramisu to have later at the hotel. My lasagna was good, and the Alfredo on it was OUTSTANDING , but my husband's cheeseburger was even better. I'm not sure what magic they used to season that burger but it was phenomenal....and the tiramisu was the perfect end to our late evening leftover snack session. If you're in the area, or planning to be, make sure you add Crave to you list of must-eat places. After this meal, my husband said that he wants to move to Sparta if for no other reason than to eat at Crave whenever we want! I can see us becoming regulars to Sparta. We loved the town and Crave. I definitely want to go back and sample some of their signature craft cocktails since I didn't get to this time. So what are you waiting for? Get to Crave! You and your tastebuds will thank me later!

Great little Italian restaurant. My wife and I visited the new Italian restaurant in Sparta, NC. We ordered the lasagna and chicken Alfredo. Both dishes great and plentiful. Service was good. This place has a good future.

Took my mom and aunt there for dinner tonight. It's a Friday and we went early. They had about half the tables full. Service was great. Good selection of drinks, we had some nice wine. The food was reasonably priced and tasted homemade, down to the salad dressings. Sparta needed a nice place like this. Recommend very much so...I'll be back!

There was about a 30 minute wait. We briefly stepped out and returned, only to learn our table had been ready but the text notification did not go through due to a phone number error. Not a big issue, we waited patiently with our two children ages 8 and 10. While we were waiting, the hostess went up to a man working the bar wearing a hat to speak to him about our table. She appeared apologetic and uncomfortable. His response and body language came across as irritated and dismissive. While still nearby, we overheard the same man speaking loudly to a bar customer and referring to a woman as "one of those crazy b***** online." It appeared connected to the table involved in the interaction that followed. After we were seated, the same man, who had been working the bar, came into the dining area and approached another table, a group that appeared to be in their 60s to 70s, regarding a receipt or refund issue. Based on his role and how he handled the situation, I initially assumed he was a manager. The discussion became tense. The woman at the table shook her receipt and said something to the effect of listening to him was making her more upset. At that point, he raised his voice and shouted profanity, telling her to "get the f*** out of my restaurant." As he walked away, he turned back and began shouting again, saying additional things about his integrity and honesty, then again told her to "get the f*** out" before storming into the kitchen. This occurred in the middle of the dining room with children present, including our own and another nearby table with young girls. From the back of the restaurant, loud banging could be heard, and it appeared he struck a wall or object while shouting additional profanity. The table he addressed appeared shaken and quietly left without further argument. The entire restaurant went silent. The servers themselves were professional and kind throughout the evening, but the outburst clearly affected the atmosphere for everyone. Overall, the food was about a 7 out of 10. The lasagna was good. Other dishes were mixed. The spaghetti marinara was very bitter and unbalanced, the shrimp scampi was heavy, and the amount of butter served with the rolls was excessive. Later, I was told by staff that the man involved is the owner's son. Later that night, my son told me that as he and the same man reached the single occupancy restroom door at the same time, the man told him to go first, but did so in a sharp and impatient manner that came across as aggressive. After witnessing repeated profanity and outbursts earlier in the evening, having my child spoken to in that manner by the same individual was completely unacceptable. Regardless of internal issues, repeated profanity, raised voices, and aggressive behavior toward guests, especially with children present, is not appropriate in a restaurant setting. We will not return and would caution families before dining here.

You have to realize that Sparta is a small town, and this is a small town restaurant. Everyone here is local, and there aren't many people. While yes the service was on the slower side, they do take care of you. I literally saw a server help a mother warm up her baby bottle to feed her baby. (A terrible server could care less) My server did a good job of making sure our group had their drink refills, and all our food. I wasn't expecting to be there for almost 3 hours, but in the end we all had fun. The food was actually really good for a place that is more a bar vibe. I know Pizza is in their name, but the appetizers and Wings won me over. The Buffalo Chips were really flavorful and filling. I love the different hot sauces they had, and their home made ranch was CHEF'S KISS. The wings were really crispy and well battered. If I ever get a chance to come back I would love to order plain, so I can drench them in their ranch sauce. The Pizza, while it wasn't perfect. The dough was giving sour dough and it was dry. The toppings and size were generous. I wished I ordered a medium. I liked eating it with ranch sauce, and buffalo. Easy fix for the dry dough. Do try their draft beers. I am not much of a drinker, and it can get intimidating trying to pick a drink with an extensive menu. However you can ask the servers for their recommendations, and you can actually try their beers, and you won't get stuck with a drink you hate. Do come here if you love to sing. They have open mic karaoke. I really liked that people from various tables were all going up taking turns singing. Looks like this town the folks are fun, and not at all shy. Plus its is Family friendly. If you don't like loud music and fun, well then avoid this place. I had fun eating, and singing. This place gets a 4, because the experience was fun. It wasn't a perfect 5, only due to the pizza dough and the slower service. Other than that, if I ever come back to Sparta, I will be stopping by for a bite.

Before retiring for the night, we searched for a place to eat and found Momma Mia Italiano Restaurant. At first we were reluctant, thinking how could an Italian restaurant be any good in a small town in Virginia. After all, we are of Italian-American descent -- so we know genuine Italian food and being the cook in our home -- I know how to cook Italian. My meatballs are renowned with our family and circle of friends. Not only are we of Italian descent, we are from NYC where there are the best restaurants in the world!!!! We have lived there over 60 years and have ate at the best! We entered the restaurant to see the entry King Kong sign about being the best -- better than NYC. I knew immediately that sign was spot on -- the restaurant smelled like my home growing up as a child on Sunday mornings! The aroma of the red tomato sauce carried us into our seats! (I think I was floating.) There were so many choices on the menu, it was difficult to make our choices. I decided on a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce and the chicken salad. My husband chose the raviolis and a side salad. The dinner included Italian garlic bread! The service from our server was divine: friendly, courteous and professional. The owner/chef visited us at the table a few times to be sure everything was alright, and it was MORE THAN alright. The food was "delicioso! We are so grateful that God brought us to this awesome restaurant in Abingdon, VA!! We'll be back!

I had some skepticism that it would live up to its reputation, and frankly Southwest Virginia is not a place that someone of my urbane character normally looks for high-end pizza in, but this was another Abingdon gem. A salad was quite large; I'm not usually thrilled with iceberg lettuce and the cheese was a bit much, but the ingredients were fresh and crisp and it was reasonably good for what it was. The pizza I came for was a beautifully presented pie with a crust the texture of a cloud. The special I ordered was just basil, oregano, and fresh tomatoes, but this simple flavor combination delivered on every front: tangy, astringent, savory, salty. Ordering a tea with free refills was a sound enough decision. Service wasn't the smoothest to be honest; only one actual waitress was working and some people had a bit of a delay when they arrived. I also felt a bit rushed out and ultimately asked for a dessert to go at the register, which was probably a better way of eating it anyway. The luxuriously soft tiramisu was another good decision. As is often the case with Italian cuisine, this place does not seem like a great option for those who don't eat dairy or wheat. For those who do, it is a reminder of why some flavors never go out of style.
