As someone who used to live five minutes away from the original Crave Cupcakes location in the Kensington district of Calgary I was SO EXCITED to see that Crave has expanded to Edmonton. Now, the cupcakes are fairly steep in price but boy are they delicious. The Red Velvet Elvis cupcake is to die for. Even better, unlike the Calgary locations that always run out of the Red Velvet 2-3 hours after opening, they always have stock at the Edmonton location. I was thrilled when I heard Crave was coming to Edmonton. I used to live in Calgary and Crave was the only cupcake place I knew, so coming to Edmonton I was excited that there are so many cupcake places... but honestly not a single one even comes close to Crave! The cupcakes are moist, the icing is sweet and delicious (I do understand how some find it too sweet, though) and the prices are very reasonable. Crave Addict? Yup! Crave cupcakes are the absolute BEST ever! Even better than Pink Sugar in Victoria who were pretty good. I have tried the competitors in Edmonton and also while traveling in Canada and the US and no one even comes close. They are always so fresh and moist and the icing is to die for! Dark Angel, Red Velvet and Crave O' Licious are some of my faves... but have tried them all! I have ordered online and they are always accommodating and very helpful, the staff in store are friendly and the store is very clean. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves cupcakes. Love the mini's so you can sample all of them... the big ones are HUGE but sooo good. They are not cheap but neither are the others. I take them as a treat when going to friends or parties and they are always a huge success! Ignore the people who don't give them 5 stars ... they don't know quality! Haven't tried cookies or cakes yet ..... but I would bet they are equally as good! Only drawback is they are definitely not a diet food LOL read more

As much as the cupcakes at Crave are delicious, their customer service may be the worst I have dealt with in a long time. I would recommend their Calgary locations to anyone and everyone, but their Edmonton location needs much improvement. Recently engaged and looking to book Crave for my up and coming wedding was beyond difficult. Tiffany (main Wedding Coordinator in Calgary) is amazing and wish she was based out of Edmonton. It took multiple phone calls (none returned) and emails before Tiffany was finally able to get someone to call me and make an appointment. The appointment went alright, though they seemed very unprepared. The girl we dealt with in store was very nice, but clearly inexperienced and unable to provide anything other then what could be found online. We were told we would be provided for pricing within 2 days, and after a week and a half of no response and no replies again from the Edmonton store, we decided there was no way we could have Crave be a part of our special day. Tiffany was very apologetic, yet very understanding. As stated before, I highly recommend swinging by Crave to grab some cupcakes, as they are delicious, but their customer service is beyond lacking. I truly hope they work on it as it is a shame that they may miss out on some great business because of it. read more

Service was lackluster, It wasn't a busy day and the woman at the til shuffled me off without so much as a "how are you?" The frosting was too sweet for my liking, forming a crunchy exterior which overwhelmed the cake. Packaging was quite pretty and the decorations of the cake were rather expertly done. They had one of the better cream cheese frostings I've had in awhile. I bought the red velvet, lemon lime and cookies and cream. I used a coupon for this place and got a 12 pack of mini cupcakes. They were very delicious! My favorites were the Red Velvet Elvis and the Princess Chocolate. The frosting on top is the best I have had anywhere! I just wish they weren't so expensive. read more

One of the worst cakes we have ever eaten! Paid 45.00 (outrageous) for a 6 inch coconut cake and it was so dry and virtually inedible the next day!! Into the trash it went. I do not mind paying that price for a cake that is good but for this cake it is an absolute rip off! The icing was sickly sweet and overall just a disappointment! I could have picked up a Betty Crocker cake and threw in some coconut extract and it would have been better! No chance of us ever craving that cake! The sooner we forget about it the better! read more

I've tried a few cupcake places in town and this one is my favourite (for someone who leans towards savoury over sweet). They have a bunch of regular combos, as well as a few twists on icing/cake (lime, strawberry, coconut icing, etc) and they also usually have a monthly special. I like Crave because I find that their cake is always moist, never dry - it really tastes homemade and not commercially pumped out (which they are, daily apparently!), and I love icing, and their buttercream icing is light, fluffy, and just oh-so-delicious. Again, you can tell that it's homemade and not out of some tub. Some may say that the mound of icing is too much, but I think it's perfect! Especially in the mini cupcake version... more icing-to-cake ratio :) They also have a gluten-free option red velvet cupcake that I'm told is delicious. I haven't tried anything else from them but I'd be willing to bet it's all tasty. You can also call ahead to place an order... recommended if you are set on having a specific cupcake. read more

After such a disappointing trip to get cupcakes east of 102 st on whyte, I was pleasantly surprised to remember Crave and how good the parking was. I was eager to their selection. Since I am a vanilla cake only guy it eliminates a lot of decision making. I chose 6 with a double on the lemon meringue. The were all wonderful but probably the one I thought that I would like the least was my fav. The red velvet. Just the right combination of cake taste and icing. I will be back. Crave Cupcakes is my favourite place to get cupcakes. Other similar cupcakeries are closer to my home, but the flavour and quality of Crave does not compare. It's worth the drive out to buy these. I really don't understand what the fuss is about with this place. I'm a cupcake fanatic, and Crave came highly recommended to me. I was so disappointed. They all had a very artificial, chemical-y box mix taste to them (not saying they are made from mixes, they all just reminded me of that distinct box mix taste), and the strawberry icing on "The Princess" was atrocious. I tried a few different flavours, and didn't enjoy any of them. Out of all the cupcake places in the city, I would probably choose Crave last. But obviously I'm in the minority because people were lined up out the door when I went. Maybe I just caught them on a (very) bad day. read more
