Latte
Cyn D.

Finally stopped here after having driven by many times and looked with curiosity at the very French looking patisserie on a corner. It feels like it looks, like a little bit of Paris in inner-city adjacent Edmonton. We had quiche and brioche with a latte and a cappucino. There is a delightful assortment of pretty pastries, and coffees. Inside is uncluttered with color and art to look at. Free street parking to the south.

Buche de Noel
Trish H.

I ordered online for some Christmas baking, a Buche de Noel and some mille-feuilles. Arrived on blustery Christmas eve morning for pickup. Delightful prompt and well organized service with a friendly, breezy ambiance. I was readily convinced to buy a fresh sourdough boule speckled generously with briny olives, and had to stop myself from browsing the rest of the glass display case too closely or I may not have made it home for Christmas. Everything was so perfect: texture, flavour, presentation for each item. Of course the Buche was the main event but truly everything was fantastic. We were so happy with it all that we didn't even mind that we were not, in fact, in the Antilles for the holidays. As long as this patisserie and boulangerie are at this location, I will be back often.

There was a large cake, cake slices, macarons in 2 different flavours, 2 different cream puffs, and I believe a few other items. They also advertised they have bubble tea, halo halo, and various pops. Behind the counter, there were white steamed buns and the gentleman working there told us there was pork inside. There were a few trays of baked breads and also a warmed with chicken empanadas. After lunch we went back to pick up a few things. I got 2 empanadas ($1.99 each) and 2 cream puffs ($2.25 each). My friend had one of the cakes before and said it was sweet so I decided not to try any as I don't like overly sweet desserts. Later that day, I had the cream puff and it was filled with lots of fluffy cream. The chicken empanada filling reminded me of what I use when I make chicken pot pie without the liquid. For $2, there was a decent amount of chicken but it was sweet and I prefer more savoury. I heated it in the toaster oven so the outside shell would be crispy and it was flaky and warm inside. If I'm in the area, I would go back and see what else they had. It's great to support a local business and the service was friendly.

Went with a group last Sunday to celebrate, and had booked a table for one of their tea party days…read morea few weeks before. It's the first time I went there, as we usually go somewhere else like Hotel Macdonald, and I can tell you right off the bat that the one offered by The Art of Cake is much MUCH better! Their shabby chic decor is absolutely adorable and tasteful! The tables were decently spaced and lighting warm and bright. The staff were also super sweet when chatting and checking in on us during the course of our tea party. The menu was mouthwatering. Other tea parties, while sticking to bite sized portions, also stuck with scant fillings/toppings and little variety that always left me feeling like I should go for a burger run after. The Art of Cake's was not only as generous as they can be with the fillings in the bite sized portions, they were also varied and left my palette (and stomach) leaving well satisfied. Their plating and food presentation was fantastic and pleasing to the eye. It left me feeling reluctant to bite into some of the pieces because they were too cute and perfect! Would definitely recommend, and would go again!
