I went there after years to pick up some cupcakes for coworkers. The place was as great as it used to be and they had the same service as I remembered. The Staff were friendly and helpful. Crave mini cupcakes? Yes PLEASE!!! I've been to several events now where Crave mini cupcakes were a part of the sweet treats and every time they are amazing! They have always been moist, super fresh, and not overly sweet! I love the fact that they have the mini options because then you can sample a few flavours for the same amount that you would have eaten for 1 cupcake! TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE customer service. Series of events: I called Crave cupcakes (Edmonton location on June 29th to order a 40th Anniversary cake for my uncle and aunt for July 3rd, the gal directed me to order on there website. June 30th- I ordered a cake & a dozen mini cupcakes for a pick up time on July 3rd at 4:00pm. July 2nd- I got a call from the manager( assuming she was the Manger), stating she had to cancel my order because they had to many orders for July 3rd. I told her...she was leaving me hanging dry by cancelling my order last minute....it literally gave me a day too find another bakery. She was very adamant that nothing could be done except for going with cupcakes, I told her that was not an option. A 40th Anniversary is a big deal! I questioned her as to why my order was processed on-line, I got confirmation that it went through, I was charged and a pick up time was confirmed, she told me that because of July 1st they didn't get the order until the next day. This made no sense to me, if this was the case, the system should have not processed orders or there should have been some sort of a note/disclaimer stating that orders were not going to be processed for July 3rd due to high volume. She took NO accountability, what so ever. After speaking to several people, I heard this is the norm for Crave Cupcakes, the bail on people last minute...PLEASE BE CAREFUL. I am thankful to Sugar and Spiced Baked Goods, Jeff and his team put something together...really appreciate it. I will be sharing my experience above with my friend circle. At least once a month, wife sends me out of my way after work through Whyte Ave rush hour traffic to pick up a precise list of mini cupcakes with absurd names like Vava Vanilla, Viva Puff, Dirty Blonde, etc. She asks if I want any. How do I answer? I don't have a clue what's in any of them due to the ambiguous names. So I tell her I don't want any. The devilish staff delightfully assemble a dozen of these enamel-destroying delicacies into a box for delivery home. That night, wife and kids eat one each. Now for the worst part. They remain in the fridge, begging for satisfaction. My satisfaction. Days go by. No one touches them. Due to my previous rejection, I am duty bound not to take any. But they cry out. I love baking and appreciate a nicely baked cake. If I can't whip up my own creation I head to Crave. We order these for work now after trying both Flirt and Fuss for special events. These are most definitely the best cupcakes in Edmonton. Every single time I have tried their cupcakes they have always been so fresh, flavorful and nice and light. They sell mini cupcakes individually which I don't think most bakeries do, as well as cookies, full sized cup cakes and cakes. They also do specialized orders and wedding cakes I believe! They have so many flavors it's always so hard to choose, but the red velvet and the vanilla cake with raspberry buttercream are my two favs. Everyone working there is SO nice every time I stop in as well! And their names are all verbs (though admittedly, "flirt" and "fuss" also function as nouns). With three cupcake bakeries serving nearly identical frosting vessels in a three block radius, where you buy your cupcakes ultimately has to do with the precise location when the craving hits. While located in the same strip mall area as Shoppers Drug Mart, Planet Organic, and Save On Foods, Crave makes up for the pedestrian nature of the surrounding stores with a highly stylized logo, and a highly stylized interior, meant to conjure up images of childhood tea parties, or childhood princess parties, or any childhood parties full of wholesome girlishness. And while the cupcakes look fantastic at Crave, they also taste pretty good. One issue with Victoria's Pink Sugar Cupcakery was its tendency to serve stale cupcakes. This does not happen at Crave. I purchased two cupcakes: Red Velvet Cupcake - which is exactly what you think it is - a Red-coloured chocolate cake with cream cheese icing - and another cupcake - a chocolate cupcake with blue-coloured chocolate buttercream icing. I was trying to find the store and the small sign was not visible from Calgary Trail. So I pulled over and called the store via their website. Edmonton number led to an automated phone system. The choice for info on store location only contained Calgary details and there was no way to reach a live person. I've never been disappointed with dry day or two old cake, this icing is perfectly sweet and their cookies are to DIE FOR! My personal favourite is the sugar cookie that's filled with rainbow sprinkles and we'll it's a tough decision on the cupcakes, I'm leaning more towards the "dirty blonde" but their house flavor is pretty damn good! There are a plethora of cupcake shops in the Whyte region, yet I always find myself coming back to Crave to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings. They have one of the best recipes in town! The cakes are moist and flavourful, with a decent variety of flavours to choose from. The real highlight of Crave for me is the icing. Icing is the moist important part of the cupcake, imo, and Crave does is completely right. Their cream cheese icing is amazing! Just the right amount of sweetness and the perfect texture. The flavours come in the usual vanilla and chocolate, but also have fun lemon-lime, coconut, and so on for you to try out. The cupcakes are reasonably priced. About $3.50 for a full sized and $1.70 for a mini. My favourite thing to do is grab a half dozen of minis so I can try a whole bunch of flavours! They are the perfect size and the lot costs $10.95! The cherry on top of this awesome shop is the parking lot out front. No hassle trying to find Whyte Ave parking for your cupcake fix! read more

Had a few cupcakes side by side with fruit and the fruit became so flavourless because the cupcakes were so sweet. Recently I ordered a cake from Crave for a birthday. We received it yesterday, the icing was the wrong flavour, and it was very dry; definitely not made that day. Honestly a grocery store cake would have been better. This is also not our first bad experience ordering a cake through Crave, so to give them a second chance and to be once again disappointed was annoying. I ordered a custom apple cake from them, which was layered and had a cream cheese frosting. The design was very simple and nice, which I liked, but the actual cake was a bit too soggy and dense inside for my liking. I like their cupcakes, but I was disappointed with the actual cake. I think if I come again I'm just going to get their cupcakes because the cake that I ordered, which was custom, felt too heavy and dense and was soggy which felt undercooked.
