So the biggest improvement over the old restaurant is that it is SO CLEAN. That alone, we will probably be back. Service was good and cheery. Coffee was tasty; after the first "are you kidding me why is the cup only half full?" the coffee was adequately poured. The downfall was the food. I ordered a skillet of eggs and cheese over home fries. The potatoes were unevenly cooked and mostly raw (same with hubs meal who had something totally different). Beyond that, the food was just freaking bland. It took gobs of salt and pepper to save the meal (pretty shitty for someone who needs to watch sodium intake). They need to learn how to cook, and how to season. Also, they need to add salsa as a condiment (or is this area too White-bread for that?) That said, this was significantly better than the old restaurant.... hubs and I had agreed to never return or even discuss that so it's got that going for it. Since there is almost no competition in the area, we will probably be back someday. read more

This was our first visit to the newly built cranberry cottage. We used to eat breakfast frequently before it burned down. The new owners have done a great job. Inside is quite spacious and nicely decorated. We went on a Wednesday because there always seems to be a crowd on weekends. We were able to sit in a booth/ no wait. Our waitress appeared promptly and poured us tea and coffee. I had hash and eggs as did my husband. The hash was cooked perfectly. My mother ordered the waffle a poached egg and bacon. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal - the bacon was crisp. The entire bill for the three of us was $26. Very reasonable for a delicious breakfast. We will definitely go back read more

The best around the town! Super breakfasts, great lunches and great services. The place does get crowded but the staff moves so they get you in and out without rushing you. Hash is to die for! I would give this place a 2 thumbs down, we waited over an hour for our food when we did get it the omelette was slightly warm in the center only the toast was not toasted it was like they just put bread on my plate my bacon was rubbery and cold finally told the waitress she took the bacon only back and brought me more cold bacon with a piece missing wth even the water was horrible tasted like chlorine.I can promise you never again; I talked to someone I think the manger or owner and they did nothing. It should have been taken off the bill seeing it was not edible but not one person really cared, save your time and money go else where. Best New England Benedict's with fishcakes, perfectly poached eggs with a saucy yolk. I would only request a little more hollandaise as I have a hankering for letting my breakfast swim in a buttery pool full. Home fries were wonderfully seasoned, perfectly cooked- not crispy or dried out, but almost fluffy and moist. The prices were fair and I split my dish with a toddler. I went there for the first time since they reopened and sat at the bar. I watched the cook who was not wearing gloves or a hairnet handle food bare hands ,wipe his hands on his clothes, and then continue to handle food gloveless. I just returned to Cranberry Cottage today and we were extremely disappointed. There was a wait, but that is to be expected on a Sunday morning. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. Because we were with our two little ones (3 & a 1.5 year old) we left to run some errands and returned as they were calling our name. We ordered 2 egg dishes and a breakfast sandwich. The waitress could barely hear us because it was such a loud atmosphere (which is okay with small children, but is important to mention). We entertained our children for 45 minutes until our food arrived. At that point our daughter and son were being very patient, but that is just WAY TOO LONG to wait for breakfast food. Also, I kept looking around to make eye contact with waitresses to inquire about our food and they really look past us. The hostess could see from the front that we were frustrated but offered no help. When the food finally arrived at 10:45 (we sat at 10:00), my daughter started screaming. We ended up having to pack up the food and go home. Throughout the process we had to flag down any waitress, not ours, to get some help to pack our food and get a check. No help, no apologies for the wait, NOTHING whatsoever was offered... They were completely apathetic to my screaming child ruining everyone else's breakfast experience. They had run out of big to-go containers, so they brought me 6 small ones. I then had to ask for a bag, which she put on the table for me to pack as well. I paid and looked upset. I said "I guess I'll be eating my entire meal at home." The waitress just said "Have a nice day." Had ANYONE asked me for feedback throughout this ordeal I would not have resorted to yelp to help protect their reputation, but truly, no one cared that we had a terrible experience. Kids or no kids, 45 minutes is too long for an egg sandwich and 2 omelettes. Shame on them. I will not be returning any time soon. read more

Been going to Cranberry Cottage since I was a baby! Sometimes I don't visit for a few weeks or months but every time I go in at least 3 of the waitresses remember my order. Great people and food. This has become a favorite of my Mom and me. Whenever I'm at our beach house, I stop in for breakfast - food is great, the service is great, and it's almost like eating with a very large family!! We go here every Sunday...very crowded, but great service and huge breakfasts. Try the stuffed french toast! We love the eggs with ham...so reasonable! and you get two fairly thick slices, along with toast and potatoes. Did I mention the big muffins??? Great service here, they take good care of you. The foods out shortly after you order and you are checked on often with refills of coffee. I highly reccomend their steak tips and eggs with portugese toast. It looks small on the outside but opens up much more on the inside. Its a warm and friendly atmosphere and the prices arent bad at all. They have cute mickey mouse pancakes for the kids. read more
