My elementary school-aged Daughter and I go here quite a bit. She loves it, and I love the small-town, total local joint vibe. My favorite two dishes are the chili omelet and the apple and local blue cheese omelet. The inside is kind of dark and could totally do with a makeover, but the people are great, the locals have their own coffee mugs there, and the food is just fine. read more

We came here for our 4th of July breakfast. I've never been to the original restaurant so I have nothing to compare to. We waited about 10 minutes for a table of 4. The restaurant is very clean and bright but lacks decor. Hayley was our server and she was excellent. I ordered the Irish Benedict which was delish. My husband had the Portuguese sandwich on sweet bread which was surprisingly tasty. We will definitely be back. read more

I've given this place 3 chances and it struck out. I won't be returning or recommending to anyone. They are friendly enough, and like everywhere else, short staffed. Though it isn't due to laziness, it is difficult or impossible to get things like drink refills and hot sauce. Prices are high and absolutely not worth the product put forth. The menu is totally unimpressive which is hard to do for a breakfast place. All could be forgiven if the food was actually good, but it's just not. read more

This place is definitely Worth the drive. When entering you sit yourself. Wait staff is very friendly. Was there right away to fill up your coffee. Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Jun'20 after the Covid in-dining restrictions were lifted. My first impression was WOW-very clean!! Not that many patrons (10:30am'ish on a Saturday) which benefited my group. Wait staff pleasant and cheery and helpful with menu questions. Three in my group and we all ordered various styled Eggs Benedict. Now I must tell you, I know my poached eggs. I can tell microwaved vs boiled (best) the second I see them and then reaffirmed once tasted. My eggs were PERFECTLY cooked!!! I ordered on grilled english muffins and hash browns (you have choices!). Service was quick, with plenty of offers to refresh our coffee mugs (yes mugs!). All of us were very pleased with our orders and only wished we lived closer so we could visit regularly!! Although in Wareham, we did miss a waterview....however the restaurant is surrounded by green trees and ample parking, and plenty of windows for a sunny atmosphere. The dining area is one big room with a view into the kitchen. We'll certainly visit again when back in the area. read more

Great local diner that's been around for years. Friendly service and great food. I went here as a treat when I was a child and loved it. Isn't open long hours (7-1:30) but serves breakfast all day. If you have kids, I would recommend the Mickey Mouse pancakes but be weary of beverage sizes... When they say small, they really mean SMALL. We went here on a whim. This place is a total gem. It may be the single cleanest breakfast restaurant in America. The coffee was pretty good, not great. I ordered egg's benedict and it was terrific. Both eggs were poached beautifully and were perfectly runny. My wife had the "Fireman's Toast", texas toast topped with eggs, bacon, chili, beans, and cheese.... It was the perfect hangover food. Somehow the bacon stayed crispy and the chili had some decent spice to it. I'm not sure what brand of tomato juice they serve but it was great. The real star of the morning was the fishcakes. I figured I had to try them but I was nervous. They were so crispy on the outside and so juicy in the middle. Absolutely fantastic! They weren't fishy at all, just wonderfully seasoned and fresh. Called ahead for takeout of two breakfast sandwiches, was told about 20 minutes, it was quite a bit longer. But it was definitely WORTH THE WAIT! They were super busy as it is Saturday of the holiday weekend but our takeout food was hot and delicious!! Called to place an order to go. Biscuits AND gravy with extra eggs and extra gravy and they give you this. They were quick to charge 4.50 for 2 extra eggs. Went to go pick up the order and we were the ONLY CUSTOMERS in the place! When I called to let them know about the order the woman on the phone stated "I'll tell the manager, i don't know what to do" Terrible custom service terrible food! Went in for the first time since it reopened after the fire and I was very disappointed. The new building doesn't fit in with a breakfast place and the food was overpriced and horrible. I ordered the Philly cheese steak omelet and it was like 2 eggs dumped in a pan with maybe 3 pieces of steak and peppers in it, it was also over cooked and like rubber. My daughter had toast that was burnt on one side that they put burnt side down like we wouldn't notice. How about you just make new toast instead of sending burnt crap to the customer? That's just the tip of the iceberg. I will not be going back as this is by far now the worst breakfast place around! read more

Good, no frills breakfast joint. First off, coffee is really hot, a big plus for me, stayed hot in their thick ceramic diner mugs throughout the meal. I had the eggs with hash and pumpernickel toast. The hash came out super crispy, and the eggs were really fresh. He had the Irish Benedict, which he said was very good and was intrigued by the linguica, and last minute ordered a side of it. It came out quickly and nicely browned, despite having ordered it so late. Was similar to kielbasa, a Portuguese pork sausage filled with paprika and garlic, and very good. Decor is kitchy diner, complete with plastic table cloths and stenciled trees and birds on the walls. Staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, and efficient. read more

We had breakfast here a few days ago. The service was kind and attentive. We sat down within 5 minutes, however the wait for the food was much longer than we are used to for breakfast. My wife had the vitamin K omelet which was very flavorful with spinach, broccoli and cheese and would order again. The home fries lacked flavor and didn't have that crispy crust the I enjoy. I had the cottage skillet which was average, the base is the home fries which just were seasoned or cooked enough. Overall a decent breakfast. We would try it again. read more

Cranberry Cottage is a tacky looking place to get breakfast. The place is tiny and you seat yourself but beware of tables that says 5 or more. Unless you have a huge party, you can sit there. You have to wait till another booth opens up as Cranberry cottage is seat yourself. This place is brimming with seniors who are attempting to chew their omelets. Its really gross. I noticed they have sausage gravy over biscuits here and totally ordered it. After experience this delicacy in Texas, I have become obsessed with this meal. Hey, its probably like 1000 calories but who's counting? And if you only eat it like once in a blue moon, there's no reason to seat over it. Ok, just go to the gym more. It was pretty good but rather oily gravy. My bf got the steak tips and eggs and while they were good eating. Afterwards, it didn't sit well in stomach. His friend ordered something with broccoli and eggs and that actually looked pretty tasty. I don't drink coffee but my bf and friend did, and they think its terrible. Our waitress was really spaced out and took forever to give us our check. When she finally did, it came out to about $9.00 for all 3 entrees. We were pretty sure, she forgot to carry over the one to make it $18 and some change. We gave her the benefit of the doubt that she added wrong and left a 20 on the table. Lets hope she doesn't think we left her a $11 tip. Overall, this place is ok but def not worth waiting for a table when its busy. But the menu does offers some interesting items like stuffed French toasts and Mickey mouse pancakes! read more

Great breakfasts -- I have been here with my mom and with the hubs. As others have noted, it is really small. That's okay, though, because we all know good things come in small packages. As Julie C. noted, there are a lot of seniors here, but I'm not sure what's so gross about that, as she notes. I'm sure she'll be a real knockout in her golden years, lol. They have a variety of omelettes. I usually just make my own with egg whites, tomatoes and cheese. The hubs usuallly gets the Cape Cod breakfast, which has beans, fish cakes, bread, eggs, etc. And he adds a side of pancakes -- I won't lie, that kid is my good eater. He can take down a moose, and probably would if they served it. The Cranberry Cottage is only open until noon, so it's definitely a breakfast place -- check it out. You can wear your old shorts and flip flops and not feel underdressed. . . very low pretension factor; and great prices. read more

Was just at Cranberry Cottage for the first time yesterday to have a meeting. It is roomy, bright, and had plenty of seating. The waitress was attentive and pleasant and each person's breakfast delectable. I have not had an omelet quite as good as the one I had here. All I have to say is I've been here twice. I don't know if I'll ever go back, but if I lived in Marion or Warhead I'd make this my stomping grounds. First day I went there was about four people eating, my best friend and I made in 6. Eggs Benedict is their thing and they make seven different types. I had the New England Eggs Benedict with the Fried Cod cakes, and I don't think I'll ever get a different one if I make it back to Wareham Mass! The Cod cakes with that egg and Hollandaise were just amazing. Coffee was always being poured which was great. The second times I went was on New Years Day and it was packed but the four of us were able to get a table right away. I got the fireman's plate, which was Eggs, Hashbrowns, topped with chili, bacon and cheese all over Texas Toast. Although the service was a little rough the second time, for the busy time they need to think about bringing in more wait staff. Cottage is a great description, small, and amazing. read more

Absolutely horrible and I got food poisoning! I ordered the eggs benedict and our food took over 45 minutes to come out, and when it did the poached eggs were completely hard boiled, the ham was undercooked and unevenly cut, and there was barely any hollandaise sauce with absolutely no seasoning. The people around us all seemed bothered by the service and food, everyone was in a hurry to leave. I wasn't even going to bother to post a review until I spent the rest of my day vomiting. I've been to this place off and on for years. I visited again this past weekend and see that they still do a great job. I like that they don't rush you, but the pace is just so fast that it really keeps people moving and the waits aren't so long. It is a little tough to walk around sometimes but once seated it's ok. There are 2 things that I like about here that are not true of many breakfast places. The coffee is decent and they do refill it without me having to wave someone down. The food also comes out hot. Most times I get a standard few eggs scrambled, meat homefries and toast, but I have also tried some of the specials and I've never been disappointed. read more
