I ordered a retirement cake for my mom from here. The customer service was excellent. I dealt mostly with Madison and she was extremely helpful. As for the cake, I ordered a vanilla cake with cannoli cream filling and white buttercream icing. The cake was delicious and perfectly moist! It had the perfect crumb and the texture was almost like a pound cake but lighter. The cannoli cream was good and they gave you a nice amount in the center. Whoever did the writing on this cake...WOW! It was the most beautiful handwriting I have ever seen on a cake. Very elegantly done. My biggest complaint and the only reason I did not give them five stars was because the buttercream icing was a little too sweet and I found the texture to be a little grainy. I wanted an Italian meringue buttercream which would have been less sweet and complimented the cake much better since the cannoli cream filling itself is sweet. Unfortunately, they only do American standard buttercream here. If they could tone down the sweetness of their buttercream icing and consider expanding their icings to include Italian, French, and Swiss meringue buttercreams, that would really put them over the top. read more

Most recently we ordered a custom cake for my son's third birthday. The bakers were very responsive when finalizing the design, and added extra birthday flair (sprinkles, side trim) to the cake. Well, walking in here, you get a great smell of the baked goods for the day. Peer back into the bakery itself to check out rows of ovens and trays, fresh with loaves of bread and more. They have a wonderful crumb cake with chocolate swirls, and their donuts are pretty good, too, although I'd stick with the muffins which are probably healthier and almost as good! Almost always have a table up front of specials, too, from pie to yesterday's loaves, if you can get there. read more

My associate used this bakery for a birthday cake for our boss in our PA office. I was with her when we picked the cake up, so I can say first hand that the service was really friendly. My associate worked with someone named Madison, although I don't remember the name of the woman who helped us during the pick up, but she was very nice. Our cake was on time and looked great. The cake I ordered for my boyfriends 30th birthday ended up tasting great. The bad part was I ordered it specific asking for a darker blue color and got a lighter blue color. I also asked for the dripping down the sides which they failed to put on there and instead put the dollops on both the top and bottom of the cake. There was also a lump at the top of the cake. For the pickup they emailed and asked me what time and date I would like to pick up the cake. I told them I would be there at 12pm. The cake was not done yet when I got there. It took them an additional 30 minutes to finish the cake. I didn't have time to even let them know about the cake and that they had failed to provide what I wanted since I was in a rush after waiting an additional 30 minutes. alright, i can get down with cramer bakery. a store full of sweet, fresh carbs, local yardley residents, and decently friendly staff behind the counter... can't go too wrong, amirite? step one: park yo' car. come on pennsylvanians, it's a parking lot- you can do this. no? ugh. the parking lot, while rather large for its location, is usually a hot mess. the bakery shares a parking lot with a CVS, so there are often large 18-wheeler delivery trucks parked ever so inconveniently. for some reason, this gives patrons of the bakery and the pharmacy the idea that they too can park like morons. oy. you'll likely score a spot in the lot, but it might take a bit of patience to maneuver the lot. otherwise, there's street parking. step two: follow yo' nose. you can smell baked goods, and this will make you drool a little. packaged cakes and cookies and breads and (insert all of the carbs here) are available near the entrance. you'll also have time to grab some while waiting in line. most recently, i picked up a honey loaf for rosh hashanah. it looked nice and smelled like my holiday. step three: keep yo' eyes peeled. there are so many treats behind the glass case and counter, you'll need to make more than one trip to try them all. different types of cookies, breads, cakes, doughnuts, muffins... if it's a baked good, they probs have it and/or could make it on request. step four: place yo' order with one of the nice employees behind the counter. they're nice, and will make suggestions if you ask. they'll package up your goods and take your money. a few thoughts about their offerings- the doughnuts are typically fresh (they tend to sell pretty quickly), and they're pretty good. way better than grocery store or chain place donuts, but i've had better. the corn muffins aren't as sweet as most, and they have whole corn kernels inside. the honey loaf was just okay- not as good as a proper jewish bakery in brooklyn, but definitely better than you'd find at a grocery store. step five: try to get yo'self out of the parking lot. good luck with that. step six: devour yo' treats and prepare for a carb coma. zzzZZZZZZZZZ read more

It was supposed to serve 25-30 though now I'm wondering if they meant people. It was enormous! The quality was comparable with the rum cakes that came out of the 'burg's Italian bakeries back in the day, though it could have had just a bit more rum. Cramers continues to impress! read more

Quest for the Holy Doughnut aka Doughnut Quest: Part II We went to Cramer's Bakery in Yardley, PA, and bought the last 2 doughnuts they had--we asked and the best time to get them is 6:30AM, when the store opens (it's not open 24 hours per day, contrary to common belief); generally sold out by noon. One cherry filled powdered doughnut and one cinnamon roll, with a pint of Clover Dairy Farms milk. The milk is VERY rich. The doughnuts, heavy, and not a lot of filling. I guess I'm used to light as a feather doughnuts, which are not common in this part of the country (you're lucky to even find a doughnut shop). The dough used is more like the dense dough one can roll out on a pastry board. The store, however, did smell like a pastry shop ought to. A rich, buttercream scent filled the air, alternating vanilla and deep chocolate. The staff was incredibly friendly, I only wish I liked real pastries. The quest will continue. So this review is not exactly for the bakery and its day-to-day operations, but for the tremendous job they do for wedding cakes! My wife and I got married a few months back at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton, NJ. The Hyatt has partnered with Cramer's to be their bakery of choice for all wedding cakes. The process for selecting our cake options was very easy and well organized. Kim, the wedding cake coordinator, provided us with a few different cake and frosting tasting options to take home and try. Based on the size of our event, we were going to be given a 5 tier cake, and so up to 5 flavor options. After trying the different options, we decided we wanted to do something a little different, so we Kim if they could put something else together for us to try. Not only was she very accommodating, but she had her bakers whip up a whole entire cake for us to sample! As far as the look of the cake, I let my wife choose something based on their different style options. Finally, we settled on a mix of 2 flavors: Tirimasu with chocolate chip cake and strawberry/vanilla on pound cake. I can say that while neither of us got to have much of our cake the night of our wedding (to busy getting drunk and dancing lol), the cake looked awesome and we were told by many people that it was great! Oh, and since my awesome wife didn't want the cake looking to girlified with flowers and what not, she had them add a little surprise for me: a little figure of spider-man being crushed under the cake! It was really cool, and apparently they had no problem in doing that for us! Just another example of how accommodating the folks at Cramer's can be! read more

Cramer is pretty hit or miss. The buttercream is really tasty and they make a mean doughnut. But you have to get there by 10AM if you expect to find one left. If you are ordering a cake for a party, it is a great option. Do not go there for bread, rolls, and bagels. Not the right place. Bring cash. read more

If you are up and about very early, go to Cramer to get fresh donuts, muffins and scones. Too, if you can order a cake for a special occasion, you will probably be quite satisfied. Otherwise, despite the charm of an old fashioned bakery, and the butternut aroma, the products are inconsistent, and pricey. The bread, bagels, rolls are not worth the trip. There are much stronger options for them only minutes away. To be a worthwhile destination everything must be good, available, and reasonably priced compared to the competition. I accidentally learned that the baker's are off Mondays, too, so everything left from the weekend is half price, to clear product! I've only lived in Yardley for a year and a half, but it's an old business that constantly has customers in it, and plenty of regulars, too, as far as I can tell. I decided to try ordering a cake for my 2-year-old's 3rd birthday, never having ordered a cake anywhere before in my life. The girl inputting the order was really nice and helpful, and I found the price reasonable, especially after I saw the artistry and tasted the deliciousness of the cake! Went there for the first time on Father's day. Picked up a donut, which was decent, scone-ok and a walnut cream pastry-ok as well. I think I'll make the trip to Giant for donuts.... I moved to Yardley from Philadelphia. Moved back to Philadelphia just recently. Seems that the people in the subs have no idea what a good bakery is. Anyway, Cramer's pound cake is very good and so is the butter cream icing, but DO NOT, I repeat, DO Not ask for a specific color or decorating. In 14 years, they could not get it right, not once. The prices are crazy high. But if you want peach, you get dark orange. If you want lilac, you get dark purple. It is a joke to our family. Once I asked for all white and still, we got pink and green on the cake! We like the pound cake, but laugh at their lack of listening skills and creativity. This time, I asked for the color, bluegreen. I even said, not blue AND green, bluegreen. I said, you know like green and blue mixed? The person, once again agreed with confidence that the cake would be the color I want, "no problem". Anyway, before picking it up, we all get in our bets to see if Cramer can make a cake to order. Sure enough, we were all right, he could NOT. The cake was the regular blue he puts on all cakes. ITs as powder cake blue as any supermarket cake! And I am telling you, it has been going on for YEARS. Now that I am back in Philadelphia, we get our cakes at really good bakeries. We get a Cramer cake for the joke of it! NO creativity and lack of care! You get what you get and no more! The cake is good though. read more

This place is a Yardley must-do. It's in a cute location in the same building as the CVS. I went there yesterday on my way back heading north from Morristown to get my friend a cupcake for his birthday. They had a great selection of baked goods, but I opted for the giant cupcakes at only $1.95 each! (cheap!) The girl working there was nice, but right after she helped me she went in the back to chat with her friends. I started to ask her something but she was already gone. I'm pretty sure the bridal shower I was at on Saturday had the petite fours made by this place. So it was just a coincidence I went here the next day. Everyone seemed to enjoy them. There is nothing vegan here for us non-dairy/no egg folks, but for everyone else this place is cute, local, and good for big cakes or a quick bite. read more

I grew up in Yardley and came here all the time, my sister worked here it was just a part of my childhood. Every time I am in the area I swing by to get a danish, turnover, cookie, whatever. Everything is always Delicious. The fact that this place hasn't changed in appearance, quality or even the delectable smell inside in 25+ years is a testament to a place that is doing it right. I can't say I have ever had anything bad here. I am a huge fan of their turnovers and danishes. But the cookies, muffins, cakes are all also outstanding. You just can't go wrong here. read more

Love this bakery! This is a classic, delicious bakery in the old style with all kinds of delicious baked goods and pastry. Don't expect fancy, sophisticated. European baked goods, this is old fashioned American-style baking. The birthday cakes are delicious, don't try to do anything too sophisticated cake flavor-wise. They make DELICIOUS, fresh, made to order cakes for celebrations and have a decorating style all their own which is just wonderful! The walnut, chocolate triangles are out of this world, and I also love their strawberry pies/tartes and they make a delicious chocolate chip cookie cream cake too. We also really appreciate the fact that they have coffee cakes like blueberry crumb cake, apple crumb cake, and banana-nut bread, zucchini bread, etc. Too many of our classic institutions like Cramers are no longer around so I really appreciate and will always support a wonderful institution like this. read more

Cramer did our wedding cake and desserts. The desserts were amazing, as were the pastries we ordered from them. I also cannot stop hearing about how good the cake was, where did it come from, it was so moist! People will seriously not stop talking about how much they loved the cake. It really was delicious. But unfortunately I do have to agree with a previous poster who mentioned that the cake wasn't super elegant. It wasn't sharp and the details weren't sharp. It wasn't what I would think a professional wedding cake should look like and that disappointed me. If recreating the picture I sent was 100%, then Cramer got it at about 80% which, honestly, was still really good and everyone loved it. Growing up on Cramer's goodies, I am definitely a big fan. Whether it be the chocolate eclairs, donuts, big chocolate chip cookies, oversized muffins or delicious cakes you'll be in heaven. Prepare to spend some money, but it is well spent. I always stop at cramer's for some delicious treat to bring to any family event. I also used Cramer's for my wedding cake and not only was it lovely from an aesthetic standpoint, but also delicious and well received from our guests, definitely recommend checking out their wedding cake selections, I was very happy with my choice. read more

Honestly not worth the hassle. Living in Yardley for years, it seems like such a fun idea to have a bakery in town and yes the pastries taste fine but not worth the price or your time. They consistently can not get an order right, to the point where it is now laughable. For example, this Easter we placed an order a month ahead for a bunny cake and a ham and cheese quiche. When we went to pick up the order, they brought out bunny cookies??? So to fix this, they brought a round cake in the back and added on a plastic bunny face. Then on Easter Day when we cut the quiche, there was not one piece of ham, just cheese. Mind you, these two items cost a total of $40...... a small cake with a plastic piece added to the front and a small hamless quiche..... $40. McCaffreys will make a better cake. read more

Went today to pick up an order that I placed early this week. Ordered cake and two pounds of cookies. Found out when I got there that they weren't able to bake the cookies. Didn't find this out till I got there Customer service stinks. Quality has been going downhill for several years. Cakes sometimes taste like they've been frozen. Cupcakes have little icing and are not attractive at all. Seems like Mr Cramer is being a cheapskate. This was my last order. Colonial Farms will be my new go to bakery. read more

Bad cake, zero customer relations. Ordered my daughter's wedding cake from Cramers because they supply all of the baked goods to my independent living community. We were extremely disappointed. It wasn't pretty - blobs of icing instead of flowers. It was dry. Tasteless. AND the filling, was $70 extra. You could see it, but couldn't taste it. My family often goes to Cramer's as it's local, so it was our first choice for a cake for my French-themed college graduation party. We asked for a watercolor design (to match the invitations), writing in chocolate frosting and decorative border piping, but specifically said *several times* NOT to include an Eiffel Tower image on the cake, as we had our own figurine. A couple hours before the party, we arrived to pick up the cake only to find an unattractive Eiffel Tower rendered in chocolate frosting floating on a mostly plain white background with sad border piping - not at all what we asked for, and not a cake we could serve at the party. When we voiced our dissatisfaction, they discounted the price only $10 (the cost of the design), scraped off the image, and returned the cake: the background was still plain (said they airbrushed color on but it was nearly impossible to see), and they ignored our directions AGAIN by writing in pink frosting instead of chocolate as we asked. Not to mention the craftsmanship - in some areas, the frosting was so thin you could see the cake showing through. It tasted delicious, but not worth the price, hassle and time wasted. In the future we will order cake elsewhere. read more

I have heard so much about Cramer's Bakery that I just had to find out for myself. Ordered sweet deserts for Christmas dinner; Pumpkin Pie, chocolate cake Log Roll, and Cannolis. WOW, just WOW. My wife who is a good cook and baker herself is always looking to taste different baked goods like Pumpkin Pie. Cramer's Pumpkin Pie is by far the best we have ever tasted (save my wife's). It is not overly sweet or mushy as some bakeries tend to do. It's just delicious. For myself, I like to see if the crust measures up to the filling and Cramer's is a winner ! Next the Log Roll, moist dark chocolate cake with cream filling........heavenly. I wonder if they can bake a cake like this with cherries inside for a great Black Forrest cake. Last the Cannolis; Cannolis are my favorite desert next to tiramisu and Cramer's did not disappoint. They managed to make their Cannolis that in my opinion beat all the rest. read more

I was outside with my dog, a Chihuahua, and she told me in no uncertain terms to get lost. The place was empty and he didn't make a sound. If you are looking for Cookie Monster cupcakes this is your spot. They have hundreds of Sesame Street cupcakes on a Sunday morning but zero donuts. The counter lady will tell you that you're too late for donuts, even if it's before 9 am on a Sunday. Cramer's could do with less sesame cupcakes and better breakfast options on the weekend. I've tried going a couple of times on different weekends but I always leave disappointed and won't be going back any longer. read more
