I'm happy to say the staff member that I initially talked to on the phone was incredibly helpful and polite. During my visit today both staff members I interacted with were polite and helpful as well. My exam with Dr. Glasgow went great - she is obviously very good at what she does and showed an interested and caring attitude towards me as a patient. Based on my experience so far I'm happy to highly recommend Napa Valley Optometric Group. Now 4 months later I finally had a pair of glasses made with the prescription Dr. Glasgow wrote at my exam. I am now waiting for a call back from their Optical department-- as again I was told 2 weeks .. it's a bit over 2 weeks- the optical department is not calling me back with the status .... I totally trust Dr Larsen and his staff have been very supportive through my changes in medical coverage and needs for good eyesight while driving and working ! They have always found glass frames I liked and am loving the titanium ones now, with progressive lenses that are polarized and have glare protection as my blue eyes are glare sensitive. I have found their prices to be competitive and they offer other useful products like computer reading glasses with a blue light filter on them that decreases eye strain! I recently had a need for an emergency visit to Dr Larsen and they answered my request for appointment very quickly and for me in and seen that was not a regular scheduled appointment for me. I also appreciate Dr Larsen's medical explanations so I can understand and best care for my eyes! I just can't see going anywhere else!

On multiple visits, I've observed the same staff member struggling with routine transactions--correcting mistakes, reprocessing orders, or trying to avoid errors in real time. Unfortunately, this pattern has affected my own experience as well. Most recently, there was an issue with a lens order: the wrong item was submitted through insurance, and there was no proactive communication to address it. What followed was a series of conflicting updates--first being told the lenses were equivalent, then that they were being returned, and later that the frames were ready. But wait, didn't we give you back the frames? So do this day I paid for Glasses over six months ago and I still have not received them. The process feels unnecessarily convoluted and avoidable especially when I can dial it down to one team member. To be fair, mistakes happen in any business. The concern here is consistency and the absence of a clear system to catch and correct errors before they reach the customer. With better internal checks, training, or even thoughtful staff rotation within the department, I suspect both efficiency and overall patient satisfaction would improve significantly. This is a well-regarded practice with strong potential, and I offer this feedback in that spirit. A more detail-oriented and communicative optical experience would go a long way in matching the quality of care provided elsewhere in the office.

My other eye was less problematic but my glasses had to be in the 400-500 range with prescription. I am now 2/25 in the left and 20/30 in the right with surgery yesterday for my right eye and 3 weeks back for my left. Dr. Moussa spent the time to explain the prescription options to me that she felt I would benefit from, based on my day to day. She was also very enthusiastic about doing so. Jeff spent a good 45 min to an hour with me, to ensure that my multiple eyeglass order was exactly what I wanted, as inexpensive as it could be (leveraging my insurance) and was pleasant to work with at the same time. I did not feel rushed. The only recommendation I would make would be to have more variety of frames. In the past, selecting frames was a time consuming, fun affair, as there were SO many different styles to choose from. Now the frames are, for the most part, functional pieces rather than extensions of anyone's particular personality. However, once I got checked in which was less than 5 minutes, Dr. Bosetti came out to the waiting room and said he would be right with me...and, he was. I was taken in the back office and had 3 eye exams by the assistants before Dr. Bosetti came in. The care I received by all the staff was efficient, yet thorough. My mother has age-related macular degeneration, so I keep up with my annual eye exams. When I was filling out the required office paperwork, it said be prepared for an hour and a half to two hours for your appointment. Wow! That's unheard of unless an office isn't efficient. Not the case here. Dr. Bosetti is kind, professional and empathetic. He actually listens and is very thorough. I left with two prescriptions for an eye infection that I thought was allergy related and recommendations for supplements and drops. I felt very well taken care of and have a better understanding of my eye health. Glad I found Dr. John Bosetti.
