What a great experience! I have been going here for a few years now. I recently went in and picked out a new pair of glasses with my updated prescription. I brought in an outside pair and they were able to get me prescription lenses for those as well. Both of the women working that day were very helpful and made some great suggestions. I ended up buying a pair they suggested that I probably would not have chosen on my own or picked without reassurance I was making a good fashion choice as well. I just moved to the area in April. Came in August to renew my eye glasses. Great experience from everyone that help me through the process From the Eye Doctor to the front staff. I was back today because I developed an allergy to the eye glasses I got. I have so careful in my choices of eye frames. Sadly I did not make a good choice of acetate eye frames. Everyone was so kind today. I had to get a whole new pair of glasses I was helped within 5 mins by the staff and we picked a better quality acetate frame. TLDR: Doctor gaslit and said patient's eyes will always be red. Went to other optometrist and it turned out to be huge infection. Writing on the behalf of my girlfriend: doctor was nice enough but they couldn't figure out what was causing frequent redness in her eyes. She asked if there were any allergies with contacts, environment, etc... and was told no, that her eyes will always be red, she should just use a blood vessel constrictor eyedrop (typically for cataracts to reduce the appearance of redness). Used that for two years. She went to a new doctor and they said there was a huge infection induced by allergic reaction. He gave a prescription for that and it completely cleared up within a week and has been great for over a year. He also prescribed new contacts that would be less likely to pickup allergens, triggering a histamine response making her eyes more susceptible to infections. read more

I recently had an excellent first visit to this office. The office itself was clean and bright with a large selection of glasses on the walls. The doctor was very pleasant and efficient. Each member of the office staff was extremely kind! There was a gal who gave me a tour of the glasses and she ended up sticking with me as I shopped for glasses, helping me choose frames based on my face shape. She was so nice! I was there alone and I really appreciated her willingness to shop with me. I'm not a very decisive person haha. In fact, the whole office and even the patient waiting to see the doctor helped me make my final choice! Everyone there was just so nice and the office really had a "small town, we are all friends here" kind of vibe. Checkout was a breeze. I have finally found a doctor I can trust and appreciate! I feel incredibly lucky to have chosen The Eyeworks Optometry when I decided I needed a new eye doctor. Dr.Sultan and his team are kind, humorous, efficient, and effective. I was having hard struggles with a previous eye doctor in the valley... with just simply trying to get a correct prescription that felt even mildly comfortable for me. After 3 failed attempts at getting my most recent prescription Maui Jim's correct (and not the 1st time dealing with this issue with that particular doctor), I simply gave up and hung onto my new pair of expensive glasses that I couldn't wear. Fast forward to over a year later, my only pair of correct lenses broke, and I decided to try and switch doctors in hopes of salvaging my pair of Maui Jim's that were sitting in my dresser. That's when I found Dr. Sultan and his team. And they got me in right away! The day I came in, they greeted me with such care and kindness. They guided my through the steps towards getting a new prescription with ease and comfort. And the best part was how non-invasive it all was! Once the tests were complete I sat down with Dr. Sultan one-on-one and covered my eye health. He even went above and beyond by educating me on the process, the analysis, and even showed me photos of my eyes. Super cool!! He really showed that he cared. And that means the world to me, especially given my past experiences. They had my prescription dialed in and perfected the very first time, and a week later I finally had the joy of wearing those Maui Jim's I bought so long ago! Real Bad Experience!! I am a 5 year customer with Dr. Suttan and purchased a pair of expensive glasses that are faulty. The lense pops out. I've called, emailed and sent a certified letter to Dr. Suttan directly and have had no response to help solve the problem. This is my first ever posting to YELP. I'm a small business owner and don't understand how an owner wouldn't want to respond to an unhappy customer. Escpecially in a small community like Napa where word gets around. All I can do at this point is warn others. Real nice office and staff as long as there is no problem I guess. I've been a patient for 12 years. They are fine, though always push additional exams/reviews that my insurance doesn't cover. However, just this week I had an experience which means I will most likely take my business elsewhere. At my last exam, I had prescheduled my annual appointment and then got an email to confirm. I confirmed within 11 hours(!) but they had already given my appointment away with no warning. They then tell me well they have lots of other appointments available that day. If so, why did they give my appointment away? Very unprofessional and frustrating. read more

Though I hesitated to post this rating earlier due to the majority of my experience being positive, I feel the need to share what happened, especially in light of our current Covid-19 surge with the Delta variant. On my visit to the Eye Works office, all seemed to be as it should in terms of Covid protocol minus their staff (4 people) being crammed into a small office space behind a plexiglass screen. Though they were wearing masks, surely this was not ideal for them. Keep in mind, this was pre-vaccines (which most folks got a couple months later). Then imagine this: for the next 45 minutes I was in a small enclosed space with one of their tech people during which time I had no choice but to remove my mask in order to do the eye exams on their various machines. All fine, so far. Then... a week and a half later I am called in to pick up my prescription for contacts but told I cannot come into the facility because Covid has been going around and almost all their staff are out with it. The doctor's wife was filling in and handing out the prescriptions to customers at the curb. They had not even bothered to call me (!) to let me know that the people I had been in contact with (one in a small, enclosed space for 45 minutes) came down with Covid within a day or two of my visit. Clearly the setting there made Covid easily transmissible between staff members. How could they not imagine they may have exposed their patients? This was completely unacceptable in my opinion. And I will not be going back to their facility because of this. read more

I went here because of yelp reviews. I'm so disappointed. Today during a conference call involving Eyeworks receptionist and VSP the receptionist cancelled my $230 follow up apt without my consent. Do not ask questions about charges or you will be reprimanded. This establishment is an embarrassment and only caters to white people. No offense to any white people, I'm not racist, I'm only speaking the truth from a brown person perspective and it's sad that Mr. Sultan is brown himself. Way to give back to your community. Dr. Sultan is wonderful! The Eye Works Optometry was so easy to find. It wasn't hard at all. Parking was easy! When I called to make my first appointment, I was greeted over the phone by Randy, such a sweetheart. He was so courteous going over my insurance with me and letting me know what was covered and what not. I explained that i'd like to get the first available appointment, lucky me i got the first one the next day. Once I arrived I filled out a form that looked laminated, almost like one of those dry erase board type things. It was nice knowing that the office was trying to save some paper, which I personally thought was a nice touch (something i'll always remember). Not even five minutes after filling out their from Dr. Sultan had called me in to his office. We chatted a bit about my history and then went inside another room and did a few tests. I have never seen such high tech equipment. From looking at a hot air balloon, air being blown in my eye (that one was pretty neat, btw i might not be explaining that well lol), and the best one seeing the back of my eye and getting a full explanation about the nerves and veins. Dr. S even sent me an email for me to keep for my records. Once the full exam was over it was on to the frame selection. They had a variety of sorts to choose from. I ended up going with some Ray Bans. The only thing that was a surprise to me was that you had to pay for everything up front and that I would get a detailed receipt when I came back to pick up my glasses. That was a little rough only because for as long as i have been getting glasses it's always been pay half now and the rest once you actually received the product and everything fit correctly. I ended up referring my parents who went the next day lol and I heard that when she ordered my dads frames they actually accepted a portion of the full amount which I thought was great. Why didn't I think of that? That just goes to show that Dr. S and his team are willing to work with you. I would definitely recommend The Eye Works Optometry! read more

So glad I chose Dr. Sultan today! After a 48 min wait and failed attempt to speak to a Kaiser staff nurse to try to get a same day Dr appointment at Kaiser - I decided to bite the bullet and go to Dr Sultan without insurance. Dr. Sultan and his staff are fabulous. He was able to squeeze me in the same day/ last minute when I called to complain about a severely irritated eye. I was concerned that I had a contagious infection...or worse. He listened to me, evaluated my eyes, and concluded it was just a random, horrible allergic reaction. Knowing I was uninsured, he found and printed a customized coupon online for the eye drops he wanted to prescribe and charged a very reasonable amount for the visit. I had to visit my friend Dr. Sultan again because of my stupid left eye. I was still looking the Terminator and nothing seemed to be working. Hit up the good Dr. and made me an appointment. I'll tell you, Dr. Sultan always has the best service in the world. His employees are always super friendly and this will probably get me in trouble but they are all super easy on the eyes as well. I ran through a battery of tests and what not and the Dr. determined that instead of dorking around, lets get super serious and get a second opinion. Can you believe that, in this day and age a man is asking for a second opinion. This without a doubt proved to me that Mr. Sultan is a good, honest man and is'nt afraid to get help and that is real hard to find nowadays. Before my second visit to get my next round of contact lenses, I changed jobs and reached out about that, with the intention of making sure my new vision coverage matter is sorted out. I was left with the impression by their staff that all was well with the member ID I provided them. I made my appointment something like a month in advance. On the evening just before my appointment I get a call and find out from the person who called that my vision coverage is not sorted out as what I gave them can't be found in their records. I was very annoyed that this came up just before the appointment. I was frustrated because there was a month to follow up and resolve this before the appointment but for that not to happen left me feeling like my time was wasted. Now, I have to scramble and find an optometrist who can take me last minute so I can get lenses and see. I do not recommend this office any day of the year. read more

From the moment you first walk in, it is nothing less than a fabulous experience in optometry as well as customer service. The ladies at the from desk are always so warm and welcoming! When I came in, I was feeling nervous since I hadn't been in in nearly 3 years. With all the time spent on the screen, my eyes have been feeling strained and fatigued. This office is strictly and professionally following ALL COVID guidelines, and I felt safe at all times. I recently took my Kaiser prescription to this location in order to fulfill it. I was pleasantly surprised how easy the entire process was. I knew what I wanted when I came in. I ordered two pairs, one everyday pair and a pair of sunglasses. The gentleman that assisted me was very knowledgable in the different types of frames and the right lenses for my eyes and lifestyle. After my measurements were taken and everything ordered I was expecting to have to wait 2 or more weeks for my glasses but I received a phone call and text message 9 days later to come pick up my glasses. I was in awe. They were perfect in every sense and they fit amazing. I am definitely in love with this location. Everyone was nice and helpful.
