Was placed on hold for 14 minutes 53 seconds with zero answer and no callback option. I actually drove to the location first and and my son got no help at the counter, so he came out and that when I made a c call. Then they left me on hold. Wasted my gas, my time, and my evening. As a local DC/PG County resident, this is the worst customer service I've had all year. If you can't answer the phone in under 15 minutes, you can't handle my order. This was my daughters graduation dinner pick and she didn't disappoint with the selection. Of course we all came for the crab andheard really good things about this place. For starters... the music was on point. All genres of hip hop and Rnb with no curse words for the kiddos. Nice! The service was slow and it was confusing at first as to who was our sever. Once that was sorted everything was straight. The crab legs were really nice size and a lot of meat. So much that we brought some back to NY on ice. Can't let good seafood go to waste. This location's Crafty Crab never disappoints! The food at least. Always fresh, always good and always on time! I recently visited just to sit at the bar, mid day. I love the happy hour. Strong drinks, good food. Service- meh. The bartender, Juan, seemed over worked and a little frantic. We tried to be personable with him and he shut that down quickly with a "come on, come on" and "hurry up" hand motions like.. you can't be serious? But I won't let one person stop the show. I usually have a great experience here for indoor seating and takeout. Hopefully when I go back for happy hour and sit at the bar, we have a nicer bar tender. 4 stars instead of 5 because the bathrooms are gross and the bartender put a little damper on the visit. read more

Everytime my girls (20, 17 & 15 yr old) try to go enjoy some seafood they're turned away due to them asking for an ID. When did it become a thing where u have to have identification to enjoy seafood inside the establishment. Then to have an attitude & just walk away & leave them standing there while u & a few other staff members huddle up & talk about them puts the icing on the cake. I don't like the fact that the staff is automatically judging my girls based off their appearance when they already have people selling drugs outside on the premises. My girls just want to sit in the A/C & eat their seafood... It's crazy, so I probably won't be spending my money here again. This was by far the worst Crafty Crab location I have ever visited. A group of friends and I came in after work and ended up having a larger party than originally planned. The cashier (a dark-skinned woman with blonde braids) was extremely kind, patient, and accommodating. I wish I had gotten her name because she was the only employee who showed professionalism, and she deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the waiter assigned to our table was very rude from the beginning. She was a brown-skinned older woman with a short 27-piece style hairstyle. She approached our table asking if the cashier had spoken with us, and when we said no, she stormed back to the register and complained loudly about having to take our table saying "yall need to get these people" or something to that nature. This was very unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. We understood that our group would need to be split between tables and had no problem cooperating. However, the waiter continued to show a negative attitude, and it was clear she did not want to serve us. Because of this, I requested a different server. As we were being moved to another table, the original waiter said "Whew, thank God" as we walked away. That was extremely disrespectful and confirmed that she did not want to serve us. The manager on duty ( a heavyset brown skin woman with locs, she had on a skull cap on her head) was also unhelpful and unprofessional when we brought the situation to her attention. Instead of addressing the issue properly, she dismissed our concerns and made the situation feel even more uncomfortable. She responded by saying "chill on my aunt". A manager should represent professionalism and leadership, and that did not happen. Unfortunately, due to us (customers) expressing our concerns about "the managers aunt being rude" we were asked to leave. All we wanted was a different server. This experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable and I have been to this location PLENTY of times with no problems. We left and went to the Crafty Crab location in Largo and received much better service and a much more professional experience. The difference between the two locations is night and day. I hope management and corporate take this complaint seriously and improve the professionalism and customer service at this location. read more

I've been to this location several times, but my last visit (6/21/2024) was the worst. The service was horrible--it took 45 minutes for me to get a water, after asking the waiter several times. She got my order wrong, even though she wrote it down and at that point, we waited so long for the food & drinks that I didn't want to send it back. I don't know if the waiter was overwhelmed or if she just didn't care, but everyone in her section was constantly waiting on her to bring something or fix something. I can understand establishments being busy, but waiting that long for a water is unacceptable. I can't say I am a seafood boil connoisseur but the boil here is the most flavorful I have had so far. The prices are reasonable. I got a pound of shrimp and added half a pound of sausage which came to $25 and some change. They add automatic gratuity (had a table of 4 people) which is understandable. However, I wasn't impressed with the service. We went on a Thursday night which it was pretty busy and lively. Our server kept trying to mentally take down our orders without writing it down but then he would have to ask us again what we each ordered. Needless to say, the service was pretty slow. He was nice but he also forgot to give us the basics, like everything lol, the gloves, aprons, buckets. He eventually realized he did have it when we brought it to his attention. He quickly brought them to the table. If you live in DC it's a bit of a ways out. Almost a 40 minute drive but it was worth it. The area is a bit sketch at night. It's in shopping center and the night we went there were police hanging out in the parking lot. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing lol but as for the food, it was great. When we got to the restaurant, the line was long and the WAIT to PICK uP food was about 30-45 mins. So, I took off stars as there should be a better system for those who order in advance! I ordered the daily specials of the seafood boil. Specifically, the Snow Crab Special. It contained A 1/2 lb Snow crab , 1/2 lb Headless Shrimp , 1/4 lb Sausage , 2 Corn, and 2 Potato. The sauce was medium cajun garlic. The shrimp was heads off. The crab legs were easy to open and contained a lot of meat. I love how the sausage was cut up. Some people said that it was good, others said it was terrible. I wanted to know for myself so... The first time we came, I ordered a Hennessy Margarita! Let's just say...you don't need to order two! LOL. Our waiter Damien was swamped with tables but he was so good. It's always good to have good waiters. I ordered a half pound crab legs and half pound shrimp with the BOOM SAUCE (Damien suggested it). IT WAS AMAZING!!!! We also had the shrimp platter and that was also good. The food was fresh! The second time we came, 2 days later, our waitress was Alisha! Quick, pleasant, and about her business! I LOVE IT! We ordered the calamari (DELICIOUS) and another half shrimp and half snow crab bag. The food... had an octopus appetizer, pretty good. I also chose steamed oysters on the half because they told me they don't get them daily. They were pretty good, I was thrown off by the garlic butter seasoning because it was brown. Lastly I got some fried oysters and sweet potato fries with hush puppies. I ordered the black mussel crab leg combo bag. Flavor A1 . But the size of my snow crab leg shocked me, lol. Initially when I lifted the boil bag out of the brown paper bag, I said "wow I thought I got 1/2 lb of crab legs?". It was just that tiny. Maybe I misinterpreted the menu and it was 1 cluster not a half pound, but either way, it was small. The shrimp, mussels, corn and potatoes were all flavorful and plentiful, I just wish the crab legs were bigger. Lol (there was only 1 cluster btw). The inside of the establishment kind of looked like a club. There was an (armed?) security guard in there directing traffic. And the pickup stand was nice and spaced apart. The staff was very professional, and the restaurant looked clean. I was told that I can't order indoors, and the website worked until it was time to select payment. The vibe was definitely "Club Crafty Crab" We arrived around 9:15 Saturday night (We tried to go to C-Crab, but they said they closed at 9)... The first thing we noticed was all the people outside - talking, laughing, smoking, etc. When we walked inside it was very (extremely) loud! The music made it difficult to hold a conversation with the people at the table. Also, the restaurant smelled awful (not seafood awful)... it smelled like dirty mop water. Nasty! We were sitting for several minutes before our waitress came over. Again, it was very loud in the restaurant, so when we were trying to give our drink/food orders, we had to keep asking for clarification (that seemed to frustrate our waitress, so I wasn't expecting a good experience). We went to the bathroom to wash our hands (mistake!). The women's restroom was disgusting -- each stall had tissue on or in the toilet, water (or worse) on the floor. The paper towel dispenser was broken on the floor. The sinks were nasty. (And of course) it smelled awful. The men's bathroom smelled awful. The cleaning supplies were out in the open. The paper towels were in the dispenser, but the handle was broken. Between our table, we ordered 2 fried shrimp baskets, 2 snow crab and headless shrimp boils, and a headless shrimp, snow crab, and Dungeness crab boil. Each crab boil came with two large red potatoes, 2 pieces of corn, and sausage. (I added hard boiled eggs to my crab boil) The food came out hot and tasted great. The only issue was there wasn't much sausage in each bag, and I have a personal issue with frozen corn (but every crab place uses it!) As the dinner went on, our waitress checked in a few times. Cyn still didn't acknowledge the table requesting to speak to her or any manager. Ultimately my party insisted on speaking to a manager. When you walk inside the cashiers tell you that you'll have to step outside to call in and place an order or order online. I ask to speak with the "manager" and Tracy comes over from the bar with a far from pleasant demeanor and in forms us that they do not give refunds. After delivering PART of my meal.
