This is an update review of our experience on Nov 25th. We took our daughter from San Diego to Crafted - again! This was the fourth time in five months. We drove 78 miles to get here (one way). As usual, we took the tasting menu and were not disappointed. Great wait staff, amazing food - each course was sublime. As usual, to start - wonderful oyster - this time with a chimichurri sauce, followed by a cured salmon with in season cosmic crisp apple, then a gorgeously plated sweet potatoes with beautiful toppings (a perfectly seasoned spiced) then a wonderful home made pasta, followed by a farm-raised sturgeon (sublime.... zero fishy smell. Firm meat...) and then a HUGE beef... Then they indulged us with two deserts... We ended rolling out of Crafted in our bellies and 4 boxes of left-overs. Pro-tip - don't finish everything served in each course... as the portion is huge... It just got better in each course. Love this place read more

This restaurant is very overpriced in terms of food. They are trying to work on presentation and taste pretty successfully but the amount of food is desperately low. I'd suggest to add at least a warm bread with olive oil to every table along with water. read more

Oh, Crafted. How I love you. My husband and I have family in Yakima (read: Free babysitting for our little human). We visit fairly often, so we love that there is now an amazing date night spot we can go that feels like both a restaurant and a bar, with an excellent wine selection, friendly service, and an outstanding food menu. Growing up in the shadow of the Hollywood Hills afford me the opportunity to visit many quaint and comfortable eateries. The experience that has been "crafted" here would easily find its place amongst the favorite spots of all the traveling locals. Dining on the patio affords you the escapism to travel outside of its local geographic region and could easily find its place among any large city. The staff here is warm, friendly and inviting. Their attention to detail and culinary knowledge of each dish served is stellar. The Chef's menu is really the star here. It allows you to take in the ambience and not have any expectations, you will be constantly surprised with seven courses of what could possibly be made with magic. "Simple, seasonal and farm to table focused" this could not be more true here however the simplicity of each dish does draw you in with their modern plating style. Spirits here are mostly standard fare except when it comes to their personalized cocktails. The cocktails here are inspired and savory all at the same time. I do wish there was a bigger selection of Irish whiskey but that's just me. I was happy to see that I was able to finish my evening with a beautiful 12-year-old single malt. Your experience seems to run the standard two hours but it will feel like six. Pricing appears to fall midline of industry standard. The monetary value is inconsequential to the experience and is quite possibly priceless. The husband and wife that carved out the space for their dream, I hope endurers in this city. My husband found Crafted on an internet search on our way home from Sun Valley and we were intrigued! We stayed the night a few blocks away at Hotel Madison (nice with breakfast delivered to our room as part of their offerings). Crafted is special and did an amazing job with their outdoor set up. We highly recommended the chef's pre fix menu $65 each, sampling a little of everything (it's too hard to choose otherwise! ) Our shared meals came out on homemade "crafted" stamped plates- nice touch!! Our s'more dessert was presented under a pretty glass cover. As the waitress lifted the cover, a plume of wood smoke lifted and the s'mores/ice cream were enveloped in hickory goodness! I moved here about 3 years ago and coming from the Portland metro area the food choices have felt limited until now. I'm so happy to have a such a creative & high quality restaurant in Yakima. I've been a fan of Crafted since I tasted an Asian taco at Roots and Vines (2nd annual?). While talking to one of the owners she mentioned wanting to open a physical location so of course I immediately found them on Instagram. It's been a long wait but with every remodel post the anticipation grew. The Chefs tasting menu was crazy good. Cheese plate with house made preserves and crackers, Kale salad, peppers with feta, Rocket apple with short-rib on house made pasta, Pork-belly, Pork chop, Scallop, and Watermelon Basil Sorbet. Honestly we were pretty stuffed after the Pork-belly but we had to take a bite of everything. Absolutely everything tasted fresh and was prepared beautifully. I should have taken pictures of all our dishes but I was enjoying the company I came with too much. Make sure to download the Resy app to ensure you get a table as I saw a few people turned away. They do have open seating at the bar but as this place is not just a bar but an eating experience expect each seat to take about two hours to turn over. What an incredible addition to the downtown Yakima restaurant scene. Great ambience, excellent service. Definitely a must stop when you're in Yakima and destined to become a favorite of the locals. A very inventive and creative menu based off the freshest produce of the season. Plates are perfect for sharing and three or four choices will satisfy almost any couple. Just fantastic... I have been to Crafted multiple times and it doesn't disapoint. I have not had a marginal dish ( I am not the most adventurous person either). Craft drinks are fantastic and always changing. The Chef's menu is just plain great. It can be adventurous for some, but it is nothing odd or gross. I have had this multiple times with my wife and kids (11 & 13) which ask weekly to go to Crafted. It is not a huge portion place but it is huge in quality, flavor and experience. read more

I tried Crafted about a year ago on a whim with my hubby. I told them we were vegan, it was late, I assumed they wouldn't be able to accommodate our dietary needs and we were ok just ordering some fancy drinks. No no, they said, the chef could absolutely make something for us. I cannot recall what I had- it was definitely not on the menu- but it was amazing. What I most want to draw attention to is the customer service. My sister-in-law also got us the vegan burger pack for 4th of July and it was FANTASTIC. The burgers fell apart, but they were amazing. Simply the best upscale food and dining experience east of the cascades! Menu changes every night, farm to table goodness, super innovative. Appetizers always include some kind of to-die-for raw fish and red nest tartare options. You can never go wrong with their heavenly steak entrees. Had an absolutely fantastic dinner last night - opted for the chef's tasting since it was our first time. It was the right choice: we received two off menu items that were so, so tasty. This was a good value as well. Everything was fresh and gorgeously plated. The service was warm and attentive - I asked the server if the bartender could create me something special featuring mezcal and received one of the best drinks I'd ever had. The only slight miss was the cheesecake dessert: plated on a bed of toasted meringue was a strange choice both in terms of mouthfeel and sweetness and looked a bit sloppy. Not being able to choose our dessert was the only disappointment, but we will be back for the everything bagel ice cream (Yes!!!!). read more

A terrific higher end date night restaurant in downtown Yakima. The room itself is small, so reservations, especially on the weekend are a must. The entree portions are large and perfect for sharing. The menu changes with the season. We had a seared sturgeon fillet that was moist and meaty. The staff was a little green and when we sat our server made a point to say how busy the place was going to be that night with large party reservations. While this may have been a helpful nod to get an order in sooner than later, we felt a bit rushed. read more

Ok, so this is pretty specific to how one employee can kill a groups vibe and not a negative to the food or location. I don't know the bartenders name who was to be our server, but he absolutely made us want to leave right away. We had a group of 3 and arrived at 8:45pm and naturally we asked about happy hour. I don't know if this is what made this guy make us feel like cheap bastards or what, but his demeanor, attitude and professionalism was not ok. We left after 7 minutes and I am writing this over at Norms where we were greeted with a super friendly and excited host who proved our point about how bad this guy was at Crafted! read more

I started this review long ago and forgot to post it. I must have been too busy trying to schedule my next reservation. Crafted is the best restaurant in Yakima and, when it opened a year or two ago, it was the game changer Yakima needed. The food is an interesting combination of Asian flavors and farm-to-table American cooking. I can't think of any particular dish -- the menu changes -- but nearly everything (shared plates if you are the best) is a home run. The atmosphere is Seattleish. White, open kitchen, hipster cafe. The owners -- the chef and his wife -- are warm and casual. The servicers are knowledgeable and skilled. Be aware that they have odd hours. They're open Sundays but closed a couple of days during the week. read more

The way the chef's menu is set up reminds me of Altura's chef tasting menu in Seattle, but with a more Asian-inspired theme instead of Altura's Italian. We have gone here twice, having ordered the tasting menu each time. I wouldn't do it any other way - the menu is always changing and I've yet to have something here that I didn't like. The service has always been on point. You're getting a quality fine dining experience at a fraction of the price you would pay in Seattle. It's really a no brainer.
