Just fantastic... I have been to Crafted multiple times and it doesn't disapoint. I have not had a marginal dish ( I am not the most adventurous person either). Craft drinks are fantastic and always changing. The Chef's menu is just plain great. It can be adventurous for some, but it is nothing odd or gross. I have had this multiple times with my wife and kids (11 & 13) which ask weekly to go to Crafted. It is not a huge portion place but it is huge in quality, flavor and experience. read more

I tried Crafted about a year ago on a whim with my hubby. I told them we were vegan, it was late, I assumed they wouldn't be able to accommodate our dietary needs and we were ok just ordering some fancy drinks. No no, they said, the chef could absolutely make something for us. I cannot recall what I had- it was definitely not on the menu- but it was amazing. What I most want to draw attention to is the customer service. My sister-in-law also got us the vegan burger pack for 4th of July and it was FANTASTIC. The burgers fell apart, but they were amazing. Had an absolutely fantastic dinner last night - opted for the chef's tasting since it was our first time. It was the right choice: we received two off menu items that were so, so tasty. This was a good value as well. Everything was fresh and gorgeously plated. The service was warm and attentive - I asked the server if the bartender could create me something special featuring mezcal and received one of the best drinks I'd ever had. The only slight miss was the cheesecake dessert: plated on a bed of toasted meringue was a strange choice both in terms of mouthfeel and sweetness and looked a bit sloppy. Not being able to choose our dessert was the only disappointment, but we will be back for the everything bagel ice cream (Yes!!!!). read more

Simply the best upscale food and dining experience east of the cascades! Menu changes every night, farm to table goodness, super innovative. Appetizers always include some kind of to-die-for raw fish and red nest tartare options. You can never go wrong with their heavenly steak entrees. Cocktails, beer, and wine section are expertly curated. I come here at least every couple months and it never disappoints. Staff is amazing too. read more

A terrific higher end date night restaurant in downtown Yakima. The room itself is small, so reservations, especially on the weekend are a must. The entree portions are large and perfect for sharing. The menu changes with the season. We had a seared sturgeon fillet that was moist and meaty. The staff was a little green and when we sat our server made a point to say how busy the place was going to be that night with large party reservations. While this may have been a helpful nod to get an order in sooner than later, we felt a bit rushed. read more

Ok, so this is pretty specific to how one employee can kill a groups vibe and not a negative to the food or location. I don't know the bartenders name who was to be our server, but he absolutely made us want to leave right away. We had a group of 3 and arrived at 8:45pm and naturally we asked about happy hour. I don't know if this is what made this guy make us feel like cheap bastards or what, but his demeanor, attitude and professionalism was not ok. We left after 7 minutes and I am writing this over at Norms where we were greeted with a super friendly and excited host who proved our point about how bad this guy was at Crafted! read more

I started this review long ago and forgot to post it. I must have been too busy trying to schedule my next reservation. Crafted is the best restaurant in Yakima and, when it opened a year or two ago, it was the game changer Yakima needed. The food is an interesting combination of Asian flavors and farm-to-table American cooking. I can't think of any particular dish -- the menu changes -- but nearly everything (shared plates if you are the best) is a home run. The atmosphere is Seattleish. White, open kitchen, hipster cafe. The owners -- the chef and his wife -- are warm and casual. The servicers are knowledgeable and skilled. Be aware that they have odd hours. They're open Sundays but closed a couple of days during the week. read more

What an excellent restaurant. This is a must stop if you enjoy fine dining and find yourself in the Yakima Valley, whether it be for wine tasting or any other reason. The way the chef's menu is set up reminds me of Altura's chef tasting menu in Seattle, but with a more Asian-inspired theme instead of Altura's Italian. We have gone here twice, having ordered the tasting menu each time. I wouldn't do it any other way - the menu is always changing and I've yet to have something here that I didn't like. The service has always been on point. You're getting a quality fine dining experience at a fraction of the price you would pay in Seattle. It's really a no brainer. Fantastic meal and experience!! Stayed overnight in Yakima on way home near Seattle. Dined at Craft and sat at the chef' bar right by prep area and kitchen. We saw all the dishes on the menu and all looked amazing. Our dinner was superb, best we have had almost anywhere in the world (we travel extensively). The owners/chef were very accommodating to our requests. Plus watching the staff prep our meal was a treat. The place is very popular and more were coming in as we left at 9pm. Pretty good for a Monday in Yakima. New favorite stopover now! ( we used to stay in Walla Walla, but now this is new favorite). read more

Went here to celebrate my birthday. Started with the roasted mushrooms. They came with a duck egg and fir oil. Was okay, could have used a little seasoning my for my taste. I decided to have the chicken and waffles for dinner, probably the best I've had in Yakima. My wife had the blackened cod and enjoyed it. Visiting Yakima and stumbled upon this place. It was so delicious we ate there two nights in a row. We had amazing drinks from the bartender. We ate the carrots, beets, mushroom ragu, and scallops and had the exact same meal the second night. It is the best meal we had in the state of Washington. Crafted is a destination restaurant and we will be back-- again and again. The service was also amazing! Both times we sat at the bar and watched everyone at work and all are extremely good at what they do and personable. Truly loved this place! Best place I've ever eaten in the state of Washington, they have a "chefs menu" option where the chef, Dan Koomoo, will make you a 7-8 course meal sampling all the best things they have & its only $65 per person. Let me remind all wait staff everywhere, don't lean on my table or chairs when at my table. I could see the guy at the next table over wanting to order from the menu that was evidently down the servers shirt somewhere. Stand up, be polite, and stop leaning. We had early reservations, and the resturant was sparse with customers, yet we were sat right next to the only two other people in the front of the resturant. Would have been nice to at least had a little more intimacy until the resturant started filling. We requested different seating, but instead we were allowed to alter our table orientation. So uncomfortable to be on top of the couple next to us with all of the available space. And we were extra chagrined when an alternate table that I asked for was rearranged to a two top for a couple that came in after us. Food was meh. Steak bavette was my choice, the polenta bed was completely unseasoned, but the rest of the meal was decent. Oh, server tip, when someone orders a steak, bring a steak knife. My wife had the Farm Egg Ravioli. Decent enough, but the chorizo casing was inedible. Not a ton of choices in Yakima for nice dinner, but Crafted probably isn't in my top 10. Too bad as I had really high hopes after reading some of the positive Yelp reviews. read more

We had the chef's menu and sadly the experience was not worth the cost. The oysters and sprouts were good. The tuna tartar was overwhelmingly sweet with the strawberries and apples. The pasta was overcooked and the kale was drenched in vinegar so we couldn't eat it. The curry was decent, but came out so hot we had to wait 10 min to eat to avoid burning our mouths.
