As I entered i was not greeted, so just walked over to art table and grabbed a seat. Waited about 30-45 minutes (there were other patrons waiting as well) was unsure who worked there as everyone had an art apron on. Eventually someone appeared at the front desk, walked over to check in and order food and drinks. They have libations (beer, wine, cocktails), water and mocktails. The food menu was limited (chips with various dips salsa, guacamole, aioli, Bavarian pretzel with dip, and other small snacks). Tried the chips with salsa and guacamole as well as the Bavarian pretzel (two nice sized pretzels). Our drinks came out first. We had to have them remade as they included edible glitter which wasn't listed on the drink ingredients we initially ordered. The chips, dip and pretzel were plenty to share between 2-3 people easily. The art class instructions didn't begin until about 745P. Not exactly sure what was going on regarding starting so late. But. Nonetheless, During the down time there are ice breaker cards on each table. Once the class started it was over by 845P. There wasn't a lot of people here the night we went so we had lots of table space. Our table was set up with our boards, gloves, sand paper & rags. Racheal was our instructor and she was AWESOME! Paula was working that night too & helping out. She got us our drinks & food and she was also great too! We had enough time to look over the menu & place our orders. I was exited to see that they just didn't serve beer & wine but had Truly's & a cocktail menu. I didn't see this on their website. I tired the glitter bomb even though they were out of cotton Candy & replaced it with something else which worked out. Later on I ended up ordering the pepperoni pizza which looked amazing & tasted amazing too! Was just right! Rachel explained the process prior to us starting. We were able to see other designs that were on the wall. You pick out a stain if you want to have some of the board stained which will show because you don't cover it up with your colors/glitter. Beware resin won't come out of your clothes or your hair. So bring something to put your hair up & be careful what you wear. You do get an apron to use but it doesn't cover up your clothes completely. I even brought some of my own glitter because I want sure if they had pink glitter but they have lots of colors to choose from. We had plenty of time to work on our project but once you stir your resin to get the bubbles you have 20 minutes to work with it. My friend brought her mother too & her birthday was a couple days after my friend's. Rachel was fun & had everyone sing happy birthday to them. :-) You need to leave your final project there for 24hrs so it can dry. My friend was suppose to pick mine up & give it to me next time I see her. I really liked the end product & can't wait to see it & use it for something. It's safe to serve food on it. For something like this the spacing and cut outs have to be super precise and right on the money. Steven was an absolute pro and helped me pick the perfect matting as well for my project. He's very meticulous and you can tell he loves his job and wants you to be thrilled with the result. He's a real asset to Michaels and I hope they get him some help back there because it seems very busy and he's basically a one-man show. 5 stars all the way!

It was hard to tell the prices on some items that I came across that I was interested in so I used the Michael's app to scan for a price. The items that I had found had a great sale price so I put them in my cart. When I went to go to self checkout the prices were not ringing up for the same amount on the app. I didn't see on the app "on-line price only." I didn't have many items. They had 2 cashiers working & a little bit of a line had formed behind me. Not good to be under staffed during a holiday shopping mth. I was able to ask a cashier behind me about this price discrepancy as I explained it was a different price then when I scanned the items on-line. She had told me "those are on-line prices" I told her I thought this was ridiculous, that I'm in the store already so in order to get these prices I need to order them thru the app & come back to pick them up? Can't I have them for the price listed since I'm here already? She told me I could speak to the manager about it but she was busy with a customer who wanted to buy a Christmas tree on the floor since it was the last one. I had come in here after working all night & needed to get home to get to bed. I didn't feel like waiting so I didn't buy these items & set them aside. I did buy a couple of other items that weren't on sale. A few days later I purchased the items I left behind on the app & did a pickup where I parked in a number parking spot & an employee brought it out to my car. I didn't have to wait too long for the lady to bring it out but honestly this is stupid. A customer will still spend money whether they're going to purchase on-line or go into the store. This cute Christmas platter I got had some flaws in it so I had to go back into the store praying that they still had one & one that didn't have any flaws & do an exchange. I got lucky! But it stinks that I couldn't have picked the item out myself while in store & get the cheaper price. Dumb! I feel like Michael's has jacked up their prices too. I've noticed that the shelves are almost never fully stocked anymore and that the selection is much less than it normally would be. I've noticed that the fun sales seems to have dwindled and that it's not the best value for your spend anymore. The people working are still pretty much the same. Not bad, not the best. There is truly something for everyone! We have crafted most of the types of projects she has to offer! Going to Jewel's classes is like spending time with a dear friend! She is so patient with her instructions and won't let you leave until you are happy with your project! Most of the time, my girlfriends and I stay hours after the class is over, talking and laughing. Jewel truly is a rare gem! Unlike most of the other studios the girls and I frequent, Jewel is happy to let you bring in your own food and drinks! If you expect to shop for your fabric like you are in a Walmart or Michaels then it is fine. They have products you can buy and the prices are just a smidge over MSRP. Sadly, that is not why many of us go to quilt shops. Quilting and art is foundationally built on community. This shop is cold, no one talks to you, or offers to help. I am the daughter of a quilt shop owner. I help out when I can and we greet every customer and offer to help with color matching or a second opinion if the customer would like. There was none of that. In fact, I was matching colors to a picture for a project in view of the people standing at the cutting table with not a word. I also went to ask if they had more greens because they were pulling online orders and they snapped at me. When I showed her I could see they had some she went oh I didn't know they were pulling orders. So, it is cold and not helpful. I will also say I overheard someone with I am assuming a new employee as she was showing her where things are in the store. Then she said yeah I don't work here, I am just here a lot. I was baffled why she was being nicer than the 3 people standing at the cutting table. Overall I almost walked out, but I did find some good deals. I don't know, I have heard that LQS can be unfriendly and ignore particularly younger sewists and I was confused. I now know what that is like. And I feel sad that this store has their platform to bring in new sewists and then disappoint and discourage them from being involved in the community. The people at the cutting table twice when i was in this shop have zero personality and were not eager to engage, nor help, and were quite confused when we came up with over 50 bolts to cut from the clearance room. The first time I ever stepped into a quilt shop left me very... disappointed and feeling lonely. Could you even imagine? I attempted a second try. My heart and my husband's heart left to the car feeling deflated and sad. How can you be left feeling sad in such a neat kind of store.... I'll tell you how: No greeting at the door, no smiling person to say hey or offer to show you around, no comments about the beautiful fabric we put on the cart and brought to the cutting table, no one telling us how we can participate in things going on or classes, or pancake breakfast. We may as well have been mutes. There was ZERO SERVICE and even less personality. I came in here looking for something new and some eduction about fabric brands and styles and organization. They have no idea who they have let down. I LEFT HERE SAD, TWICE. I did not even know this place was related to a sewing channel on YT, I am a novice quilter Could u just imagine if I travelled here from 1000 miles instead of 5 miles to come here? Yikes
