I visit this restaurant nearly every year, sometimes twice a year, and after all these years, the unwelcoming attitude never seems to improve. When I said it was just me, I was asked, "Do you want to sit at the bar or in the dining area?" I chose the dining area and was told I would be seated with other families. No smile, no warmth, and not even a simple confirmation that this was okay--it just felt unnecessarily dismissive with a snooty attitude. Is being unwelcoming a requirement when hiring hostesses, or is it a generational thing? I wonder when this will finally be addressed and improved. I may die of a heart attack if I ever actually see it happen! Thankfully, the food and table service were much better. The chicken-fried chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli was hot and delicious, and my server was very friendly. Then again it was a great distance from our upstairs hotel room. Was staying here due to its proximity to the Amarillo airport.
