Just had a meal she catered for a high school banquet. Never a complaint about the quality of her food!

After looking up this restaurant on Google, I was so enamored by their unique menu, especially their Weeds & Seeds Salad that I was dying to dine at this Farm to Table Restaurant. Thankfully, my sweet coworkers made my wish come true! We were a large group of 8 and shared the: 1) Local Cheese Plate (Changes daily, we had Aged Cheddar, Starlight, St. Malachi, and the Black & Blue; $14) 2) Beets W/ Goat Cheese and Dill ($7) The starters we ordered were all so delicious! Of the cheeses, my favorite was the St. Malachi. I've never tried this one before and it was so flavorful, a bit tender and nutty. You have to try this if you haven't yet! For myself, of course I had to order the Weeds & Seeds Salad (Wild Salad Mix, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Bee Pollen, Edible Blossoms, Honey Mustard Vinaigrette; $8). This salad was a dream, to say the least! Not only did it look beautiful, but it tasted amazing! It was unlike any salad I have ever tried before. I loved the light Honey Mustard Vinaigrette and the touch of Bee Pollen. For my main dish, I ordered the Rainbow Trout (Trout Filets Dusted with Sumac and Pan Seared Topped with Vanilla Buerre Blanc and Red Raspberry Gastrique; $25) W/ Hot Greens and Cold Veggie as my two accompaniments. The trout was so delectable and unique. I loved the taste of the vanilla with the raspberry together, such complementary flavors! The Hot Greens and Cold Veggie were also really delicious. For dessert I tried their Shiso-Basil Creme Brulee ($6). Can I just say, what a marvelous combo? I am obsessed with Shiso leaves, but have only had them with sashimi. Never have I seen it used in a dessert. This Creme Brulee just tasted so perfect that I wanted to order another one, but didn't want my coworkers to judge me haha. The chef here is just so talented and the customer service was outstanding. The interior of the restaurant is so charming, a bit rustic and minimalistic and I loved the touch of fresh flavors at every table. Could not praise nor express my love for this restaurant more. Thank you for such a lovely and unique experience The Blind Pig! I hope to dine here again one day!

My fiancé and I both ordered the filet mignon sandwich, and unfortunately, the entire experience…read morewas incredibly disappointing. To start, the sandwich we received barely resembled the description on the menu. It was supposed to come on an herb ciabatta bun, but instead we were served what appeared to be a basic Kaiser roll--the kind you could pick up at Walmart. The sandwich itself looked lazily thrown together. There were three tomato slices and a single lonely piece of lettuce on the plate, as if it was there for emotional support rather than actual culinary purpose. The advertised horseradish mayonnaise also had the personality of plain mayonnaise that had given up on life. What baffled me most was the filet itself. When ordering a filet mignon sandwich, I expected the steak to be sliced and properly assembled so it could actually be eaten as a sandwich. Instead, they cooked an entire piece of filet mignon and placed it whole between the bread. No slicing, no real presentation--just an entire steak awkwardly sitting on a roll like it was waiting for instructions. Unfortunately, the steak wasn't good enough to make up for the presentation. It had an unpleasant taste that reminded me of food cooked on a grill that hadn't been properly cleaned. For a filet mignon, it was shockingly tasteless and disappointing. The sides weren't much better. We received fries that tasted like frozen fries and literal Ruffles-style potato chips. We actually watched the chips being pulled out of a storage area, which made the presentation even harder to justify considering the price of the meal. The atmosphere and service added to the disappointment. While we were eating, our server took a break at the bar and ate food directly within our view. Combined with what we observed throughout the restaurant, it raised some questions for us about the overall professionalism and cleanliness of the establishment. Kitchen staff periodically came out into the dining area and did not present themselves in a particularly professional manner. The dining area itself also needed attention. There was a cricket near our seating area, the otherwise nicely decorated bench was covered in crumbs, and flies repeatedly hovered around our table and food throughout the meal--clearly also interested in the "experience." And I would be remiss not to mention the true star of the plate: the single piece of lettuce. It sat there like it was fulfilling a contractual obligation, completely unbothered by the chaos happening around it. For $53, I genuinely cannot understand the quality of the meal we received. Filet mignon should be something you look forward to eating, and this was one of the most disappointing steak meals I've had. My fiancé quite literally only had two bites of her sandwich and could not finish it. I wouldn't even feel comfortable feeding that steak to my dog. If I could give our experience 0 out of 5 stars, I would. Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest option available. Rose Marie's has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and professionalism. Based on this experience, we will not be returning.
