We were a large group of 8 and shared the: 1) Local Cheese Plate (Changes daily, we had Aged Cheddar, Starlight, St. Malachi, and the Black & Blue; $14) 2) Beets W/ Goat Cheese and Dill ($7) The starters we ordered were all so delicious! Of the cheeses, my favorite was the St. Malachi. I've never tried this one before and it was so flavorful, a bit tender and nutty. You have to try this if you haven't yet! For myself, of course I had to order the Weeds & Seeds Salad (Wild Salad Mix, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Bee Pollen, Edible Blossoms, Honey Mustard Vinaigrette; $8). I've had them three times from Bissinger's at the Bloomsburg Fair and I can NEVER get enough of them. The warm buttery trust is filled with thinly sliced apples that taste almost caramelized in their own sugars. Laying on top of the warm mound of steamy goodness is a big scoop of vanilla or cinnamon ice cream (I of course chose cinnamon) As always we touch on their understanding of food allergies and cross contamination. The Staff are very kind and knowledgeable about food allergies. Even with being very busy they took the time to speak with us. They assured both me and my girlfriend that no nuts of any kind were used in the making of their dumplings or ice cream. We then used the Susq chef to cater our wedding and to make a long story short, their off site help left a lot to be desired. The bar tenders and some other staff were extremely unprofessional and while they did not ruin anything for our guests, it was disheartening to hear about their obnoxious behavior from guests after the wedding. From selling our alcohol to guests, to some of the waitstaff consuming alcohol while they were working, I could not recommend them as on off site caterer. There were many other instances that occurred over the course of the planning and the wedding day that were also disappointing, but all in all, I am sure there are plenty other off site caterers who would be better.

So perfectly seasoned is the meat that I never use any sauces or condiments. I usually get the collared greens as a side. Once again, it's a large portion, well seasoned and perfectly complementary to their amazing meats. Additionally, the Atomic Hog staff is friendly and capable. Atomic Hog is highly recommended and like many in the area, we hope they find a permanent brick and mortar home!
