We enjoyed everything (Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour and Reception) at Mountain View Barn ("MVB") and it truly was a "Best Day Ever" experience for us. Where to start... 1. Gorgeous setting, inside and out! Beautiful string lights throughout the reception space, and stunning views of the mountains. 2. Handicap-accessible, ADA-compliant. 3. Several great locations with excellent views on property to hold your outdoor ceremony and great photo opportunities. 4. The owners are super nice, helpful, quick to respond, maintain/enhance the property with beautiful flowers and plantings, and did their utmost best to ensure our wedding was perfect. 5. Helpful information regarding various vendors found on their website. 6. Access to barn beginning on Tuesday, allowed plenty of time to set up the wedding of our dreams. 7. Separate Rehearsal space to accommodate 40-50 guests comfortably. 8. Two (2) beautiful, well-equipped, air-conditioned dressing rooms with lots of mirrors, outlets and seating for bride and groom and their entourage to get ready and relax. 9. No AC in Reception space but opening windows, multiple ceiling fans and discreet oscillating fans helped keep our mid-June reception and dance party cool and comfortable. 10. Great DJ space and dance floor. With the help of family, friends, and/or coordinator(s), you too can have your "Best Day Ever" at MVB! We had our wedding here, almost 2 weeks ago. It was beyond amazing! Beautiful scenery and atmosphere. It was nice doing the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all in one place. Dean is fabulous to work with. He truly cares about you and your wedding. He goes above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. I had my wedding reception here in March 2023, and I experienced things that I think anyone using the venue should know, as they have stuck with me 10 months after the wedding. 1. The owner did not know my name 2 days before the wedding, despite me being the point of contact for every payment, every update, and every conversation. When we showed up to decorate on Thursday, he thought my sister-in-law for the bride, even though we had met in person twice before this day. He then had to ask what my name was and said "I think I know by a different name." You wouldn't, sir, I don't have a nickname, it's always been Amelia. It's not unreasonable to make sure you remember the Bride + Grooms names. We were the only wedding that weekend and the second wedding of the season. 2. Heating is NOT included, and we had to pay them $50 cash while we were decorating to make sure he would turn the heat on for the day of the wedding. 3. They would not plug the fridges in until Friday, right before the rehearsal dinner, so we could not leave food/beverages on Thursday when we finished decorating because they wanted to save electricity/money. 4. Music couldn't have "swear words," which is a rule in the contract. Just a heads-up if that is something you feel strongly about. 5. The owner lingered around the reception for a while which made some guests uncomfortable and had interactions with him that were unwarranted. It felt like we were at a high school dance with chaperones- killed the vibes. 6. Music was cut off and lights were turned on and he began tearing down before 10pm, which is what the contract states. That was a bummer and we felt slighted because of the pressure he immediately added to start cleaning up. Overall, it's a nice venue with reasonable pricing for the area, if you're willing to overlook the possible frustrations and unprofessionalism that me and my family faced on my "big day." read more

ON A POSITIVE NOTE. The venue is stunning. There is so much room for literally anything you want or need to do. The downstairs rooms are spacious, clean and pretty for everyone to get ready. We had 84 guests, full catering service and a DJ and there was plenty of room for everyone during the reception. The bathrooms are super nice! The upstairs of the barn is so pretty it made me cry. There is also a room dedicated for rehearsal dinner if you choose to do so. Tables and chairs included. On a negative note: We had a very similar experience to the review posted on here by Amelia D. 1/16/2024. We walked through the venue March-April of 2023 and booked for June 2024. We were told it was climate controlled but since electricity costs were increasing he was going to start increasing the venue cost as well but asked we paid $100 just to kind of cover electricity for our day. I get that, no big deal. Contract stated music played had to be "clean versions" no swearing and "no rap music". I found that sort of odd but it wasn't going to make or break our day. Signed the contract and gave our down payment. Every other payment we made in person so we met Dean in person on more than one occasion. He always came off sort of pushy, but we knew what we wanted when it came to vendors and he was acting like he wanted to us to go with his usual vendors of his choice. I just figured he was trying to be helpful and I let it go. We chose the wooden area for our ceremony and he kept trying to persuade us to using the area behind the barn. He kept saying "well most other brides do this" We told him, no, several times. He also kept pushing the fact he wanted 8 people to a table. We also told him no, we are only seating 6 so people have room to move. Two months before the wedding we met at the venue with our wedding planners and Dean kept interrupting my conversation with the planners to give his personal opinions so much to the point the planners pulled me to a separate location to talk. The week of the wedding we arrive on Wednesday to start taking things to the venue. Mind you its 90 something degrees outside so it is at least 100 degrees in the barn. He refuses to turn the AC on stating that its an extra $100 per day for him to turn it on at 6pm. Which he never mentioned. He would not turn the refrigerators on so we could have cold drinks to hydrate so we brought coolers. He didn't want the fridges on until the morning of the wedding to save on cost. Wednesday night I had people puking from being in the heat all day. Thursday we dealt with the same thing. Tents were arriving and being placed outside for the upcoming ceremony and Dean wanted to know if we were going to provide extension cords to plug in the lighted tents. We had different chairs delivered and he was still making comments about how we should have 8 per table. During these two days he would ask the same questions over and over like we never had this discussion before. "who is the caterer, who is the photographer, etc. etc. At one point he asked my dad "oh which vendor are you with?" when he had met my dad several times in person. He would ask me each day "oh are you the bride" when we had met several times before. Friday my parents had enough. They paid the additional fee and demanded the AC be turned on Friday morning so no one was getting sick before the wedding. We started bringing over our clothes and he walked into the groomsmen suite and asked my mom what the guys were wearing and if they tried their clothes on yet. The wedding starts, the reception starts. Everything is good. It was raining so everyone was inside the barn. We did get a comment from the bus driver that Dean didn't want him pulling into the driveway, he wanted him to back in. It was dark so the driver didn't feel comfortable doing that. Not really sure what the reasoning for that was. I'm not here to bash anyone or anything. Everything turned out beautifully for us. These are just things I believe people should be made aware of before booking. The venue is stunning, it all just depends on what sort of things you are willing to deal with before making it to your big day. read more

This past weekend we celebrated my daughter's wedding at Mountain View. We had several bumps in the road, especially when our original venue cancelled 2 weeks before the wedding date, but we definately lucked out when Dean told us he had a cancelation for the following week. We couldn't have been happier with the venue. Dean was so accommodating. The venue is beautiful. Very well taken care of and clean. There were several locations on the property that they had to pick from for the ceremony.. Tables and chairs were provided which was a huge plus. The barn accommodated 110 people easily with plenty of dancing room!. Bridal and Groom dressing rooms were large and comfortable. The downstairs serving area had plenty of room for the caterer to work. I can't say enough about the venue and working with Dean. Perfect in every way. read more
