This is our second dining experience at Beaumont Inn and both experiences have been satisfactory. The first time we went in the summer and sat outside and this time we dined indoors. Steaks are decent, service is adequate and bar serves plenty of interesting Booz!

Igloos

The perfect romantic evening for our anniversary. We reserved an igloo and it was amazing from atmosphere to food to service. The crab cakes and elk tenderloin were spot on. This will definitely be somewhere for special occasions! Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Very good ate beef Wellington by chance and it was very good ! Igloo was nice a bit cold bc the door kept opening up and staying open - But salad was very good too!: drinks good too!

Choconogg Martini

Amazing experience on Christmas Eve in one of their igloos. Food was phenomenal and so was the service! Would highly recommend the experience.

Lamb Belly Porchetta - not horrible - too much grease on top of just having grease from a marrow bone. Repetitive and boring presentation.

SO DISAPPOINTED. Our first time at their wine dinner pre-covid was amazing, so when they offered one now that restaurants are back in swing, we were super excited and jumped on it. We were so enthusiastic we convinced our super critical, non adventurous eating friends to join in. what a mistake. This event did NOTa live up to previous ones. So much was "off". There seemed to be no rhyme or reason for what the Chef chose for menu items this time, and it did not flow. Starting with the table settings, not nearly as exquisite as prior. Ambience is a huge deal. Seemed like only half the amount of people in attendance as previous. Next - they didn't seem to have enough servers at this event. The first time, we were amazed at the speed and grace of how everyone got served pretty much at the same time. Now, they were very slow to serve half the amount of people. So, we were almost first to be served. By the time the other end of the table got their food and we waited for the chef to appear to describe the dish, our plates were cold. The first course, the Tuna Tartare was very good. However, I would have liked the tuna to be served in a small dish with the crostini on the side. It was served with the tuna atop a crostini and again, because of the the slow service, by the time we got to eat it, the crostini was already becoming soggy. The next course, the Pan Seared Barramundi with salmon caviar was probably a matter of personal choice. I'm not a fan of fish with the skin on, so that sort of ruined it for me, but otherwise, it was good. Again, we were served first and the dish came out piping hot, but by the time we would actually eat it, it had lost much of its appeal. Next was Roasted beef Marrow Bone. Now this, this caused a lot of rumblings. Several guests on both sides of us and across from us, (perhaps 10-12) guests were all grumbling about what a horrible choice. Nothing but fat and nothing to scoop the fat up with if you are a fan of the fat. Now, honestly, we once travelled to Manhattan simply to have roasted marrow bones at an upscale restaurant and they were a wonderful experience. This dish here, however, might have looked pretty, but just didn't do well, especially after 2 fish dishes. Adding insult to injury, the next dish was a Lamb Belly Porchetta. Although it was okay in the flavor department, it too was almost pure fat. Lamb fat on top of beef fat, just not at all appealing. By this time, our evening was pretty much ruined as our friends were beyond upset and I was fearing losing a friendship they were so disgusted with the foods. The desert, Rhubarb Mille /Feuille was presented lovely but was so disappointing. You could not cut it with a spoon or fork, needed a knife, which by this time, most people had their knives cleared. The rhubarb that was said to have been sous vide - was tough and stringy. The pastry was not flaky and seemed stale. Additionally, this time, the presentations were mostly boring and repetitive. Last time, they utilized different plates with interesting shapes. This time, same old white dinner plate. Micro greens haphazardly thrown for a garnish. All in all, the entire event was a complete disappointment. At a cost of $500 for an evening out for 4 people, we would have been better to go to A.V. in Scranton or La Malbec in Bloomsburg and simply gorged on a variety of dishes from their standard menus. I can say that if they don't turn this around, this will soon be a thing of the past. More than likely, we will never return to this venue for a wine dinner, but will try wine dinners at other establishments. I've written reviews of the Beaumont previously and I write honest reviews of most places I dine. I am a tough critic I realize. BUT, there are places that have pleased me over the top. Read my review of Cafe Toscana in Wilkes-Barre. This place has it all figured out - consistently!!

Very slow when we visited on December 24-26. Total of 7 checked in 24th and 10 the 25th. Nice chair in the room , I've had better but I've also had worse, plenty of soft towels , water got nice and hot but not enough pressure to satisfy the spouse. My bed was squeaky if I want to be picky. And the pillows were too soft even with all of them stacked. I also needed another blanket but again just being picky. Bathroom was good with two glaring exceptions , the vent was gross , and the caulk had black grunge in one corner. It could have used another shelf but the unit came with wall mounted body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Good enough for me. Hand soap and lotion at the sink. Parking was easy and entrance was excellent , weird to see the front desk so far back but just different not bad. We didn't do the breakfast or visit the pool / exercise area so really can't say anything about those. Hallways were clean and neat. Elevator was fast and clean. Very quiet during our stay. Internet was fast with no glitches. Price was higher than other places around but less than others. All in all a do over .

Having stayed at Hilton Garden Inns many, many times before (including this one a few times), I…read moreusually know what to expect--clean rooms, comfy beds, and a consistent experience. That's why I booked a four-night stay from Tuesday through Saturday, checking out on New Year's weekend. While some aspects of my stay met those expectations, others...well, let's just say it left me scratching my head. When I checked in Tuesday night, I asked for a room in a quiet part of the hotel since, you know, New Year's Eve could bring some party vibes, and I wasn't in the mood to hear revelers after a long day of travel. The front desk clerk was super accommodating and got me set up in a nice, peaceful room. Props to her for that! It was nice to see the remodeled rooms, too. Mine had a king bed, a flat-screen TV, mini fridge, large workstation, and a bathroom with a long but narrow shower and a spacious sink area. Plenty of storage, USB ports on both sides of the bed, and a very comfortable mattress--it checked all the boxes. Except...one wall near the bed had some suspicious stains that were visible when the light hit them just right, let's just say these made me wonder what someone was up to previously in that room. (Seriously, Hilton, maybe prioritize touching up that wall in room 427.) Now for the crazy part: My room was not serviced a single time during my four-night stay. Here's the timeline: Wednesday: Left my room around 9 AM, worked in the lobby for a while, then went out for the day. Came back that afternoon to find the room hadn't been cleaned. No biggie--I checked in late Tuesday, so I figured they'd get to it Thursday. I called the front desk for towels, and those were delivered quickly. Thursday: Same routine--left around 9 AM, came back late afternoon, and...still no service. By now, I also needed shower gel because the bottle in the shower was empty. I went down to the desk and let them know my room hadn't been serviced since I checked in. The response? "Rooms are serviced every other day, so it should have been done today. Maybe tomorrow." They brought up the shower gel later, but by this point, I was annoyed. Friday: Left at 9 AM again, returned around 4 PM, and guess what? Room STILL wasn't cleaned. By now, there was a mountain of towels on the bathroom floor. At that point, I just gave up. Ironically, every morning while working in the lobby, I'd see a man (who said he was the director of marketing but had no nametag or anything official-looking) walking around reminding guests to fill out surveys. Sir, maybe focus on why the rooms aren't being serviced before asking for glowing feedback? A few positives to balance things out: the room was spotless (except for that wall) when I checked in, the bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the USB ports by the bed. But the lack of housekeeping during a four-night stay--especially when the front desk knew I'd already asked twice for towels--was unacceptable. Would I stay here again? Maybe. Hilton is my go-to brand, and this location has been fine in the past. But knowing there's a Hampton Inn right across the street gives me something to think about next time. Here's hoping they get their housekeeping situation sorted out.

The great: We almost booked through a third party website because it looked like it was $20 cheaper but we ended up reviewing the discount tab on the Inn at Jim Thorpe website and noticed a 15% discount if we booked over the phone. Booking over the phone saved us about $50. The staff was kind, professional and helpful over the phone and in person. They even gave us fresh baked cookies when we checked in. The inn is an old, crickety building and the rooms are small but clean. There's a stairwell and small elevator once you're inside the building. I don't know if there was a handicap entrance into the building. The parking lot was easy to find but it is quite narrow, which should be expected in an old building/old town. Ice and a filtered water fountain is located in the basement and they have a vending machine too if you're looking for a late night snack or sweet treat. The not so great: One thing did feel misleading. The staff said the restaurant attached to it ( Broadway something or other) is the only place that serves breakfast & they require reservations. The Inn even provides a $10 off per person coupon for the restaurant but we found a few options for Nitro cold brew, coffee, tea and baked goods right down the block. Personally, this felt like sales tactic to make us think breakfast would be scarce. Maybe that's the case during peak tourism season but it didn't seem to be the case when we were in town. Overall we'd definitely stay here again. Between the trails, the cool architecture and the good food, we found Jim Thorpe to be a fun place to explore.

Live entertainment both nights (fri & sat) with some good specialty drinks. The bartender Tyler was AWESOME. He made our night more fun than we expected. Upstairs bar was good enough, but Tyler downstairs was the best. Other bartenders had little to no personality. The one even seemed annoyed we were ordering drinks? Strange. Both nights we ate dinner at the restaurant, Broadway Grill on the main level. First night was good... second night was a complete 180. Breakfast was good both mornings we ate there. You do need reservations for breakfast which was easy to do online. Plus a $10 off per person each day at breakfast for staying at the Inn. The second night they ran out of the most basic side - rice. still put mushrooms in a pasta dish that was repeatedly asked not to be put in there. A side of fries that were supposed to come out with a meal was supposed to be delivered soon after.... But another persons meal was sent back (awful taste to the chicken parm) and fries were given in place of the meal. Still no fries for the other person. Dry salmon but the sauce saved it. Mashed potatoes cold. The manager was very understanding & i appreciated her kindness. The waitresses were all very nice too. Overall - I'd still go back during another season as we were here in winter & not much was open. I'd stay here again and just plan for dinner elsewhere.

Super easy to find (although in this area what isn't commensurate to the size of the area) where you just float down route 6, bare right on to 92 and then right into the parking lot. A Weis Market, Aldi and Walmart are a short drive away along with a few restaurants down the road on East Tioga and an excellent winery/brewery that you pass on the way in to town. The room was basically as expected with it being on the back side of the building which was super quiet. But even if there would have been any noise it would been drowned out by the a/c. Upon entering, there was no doubt the it worked as the thermostat was set to 64 and the unit was ripping jet engine full blast. Hampton breakfast is Hampton breakfast and we've learned to skip it the same as they do have a pool and some guest washers/dryers but there was no need for either of those.
