I spent a cozy quiet weekend here with my fiancé. We were greeted and checked in by one of the owners Tony, who is also the chef. Our room the Theresa luxury room was great. It had a fire place and a little living room, our bed room had a comfy king size bed and the bathroom had a shower with great water pressure. The room was clean and we'll kept. We had dinner both nights. Delicious doesn't begin to describe the food. Melissa the other owner was our waitress. She was incredibly friendly. We had grilled Caesar salads, filet mignon with asparagus and whipped potatoes, lobster penne with truffle sauce and sweet corn both amazing. Dessert was carrot cake with caramel sauce and a delicious half baked cookie with ice cream, chocolate and caramel. So good! I cannot say enough good things. We will definitely be back!

We had only one night to spend at a resort last night. We chose this lovely inn. The rooms were large and comfortable. They are pet friendly and we brought our dog and she loves it too! It is very quiet and we were able to rest very well. Now we are experiencing the dining area having a lovely breakfast. It is quaint and cozy and the artwork is colorful and inviting I like it! The staff makes us feel right at home and is very friendly.

Could be an absolutely beautiful inn. The whole house was very dated. The beds were uncomfortable and did not seem clean. The shower curtain and tub were filthy. The carpet was also filthy and warn. They need to update the facility and make it a beautiful place.

This place was recommended by the locals at Eagle's Mere so we stopped in for dinner. We ordered the goat cheese pierogis to start, which were excellent, and the night's lamb special and hanger steak special. I wasn't too fond of the fried mashed potato croquette that came with the steak but everything else was to die for. Lamb is very hard to get right as it usually turns out gamey but the chef did a wonderful job of making it absolutely mouthwatering! To finish off, we polished off a plate of goat cheese and ricotta cheesecake with mixed berry compote with orange blossom syrup...all I can say is OMG! We basically fought each other for the last bite. The service was a bit slow but the food definitely made up for it. If you're in the neighborhood, it's worth stopping!

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is better than I've had a most metropolitan cities, for a very reasonable price. The breakfast better than most B&Bs I've stayed at in over 30 years. Sadly, the room needs a lot of work. We were in the basement and perhaps that's the reason it was a bit neglected? If it hadn't been a celebratory weekend I would've insisted upon being moved. The smell was very musty the air-conditioner very dirty the pillows very smelly, the beds and all the linens, as well as, all pillows should be replaced. It looked as though the roof had leaks, which may account for smell? The arrangement of the rooms was very convenient , Jack and Jill style. Saddens me that the rooms were so run down. Did have a nice rec room. Would strongly recommend if the rooms were cleaned and updated. Currently...just recommend for dinner.

Bought a groupon to take my boyfriend away for his birthday. At first pulling up we were skeptical, greeting by a cute little dog, Bella. The room was super homey, cute and clean. Then dinner, OMG. to die for. The food here made the 4 hour drive so worth it. Owned by an amazing family, nice workers, nice rooms, and great food. Totally going back and highly recommended!!!

Best dessert ever! Half baked tollhouse chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and chocolate/caramel sauce

Roasted duck entree was delicious. Well made cocktails and a decent wine list was a plus.Downside were the beds, literally straw mattress, when you laid down you'd sink to the center, not at all supportive, you would spend the morning of the next day trying to get the aches to go away. But for $40 you got your lodging, dinner & breakfast. Granted that was 45 years ago. CR inn was 10 miles off the closest paved road (Rt. 287 Williamsport to Wellsboro) and last 5 miles was gravel. The CR inn parking area is right next to the train tracks that serve upstate coal mines. The train came through at 3:30 AM and shakes you awake. That was nightly. Later the rails were taken up & I believe it's a hiking trail now. Wellsboro is the county seat & charming with is stately homes & gas lit streets. Nearby is the grand canyon of Pennsylvania. At least 3 state parks merged together. A ride through the inn's road system yielded another gem- the "Blackforest Inn at the Top of Slate Run" .a gigantic log cabin (new at the time) with a fieldstone fireplace that ate up 6 foot logs.comfy sofas & chairs formed a casual cocktail nook. Pretty good food there + they had clear birch beer on tap. Adjoins a mountain top airport. Pleasant memories for me. If you are going to Wellsboro I suggest the Penn Wells hotell (6 floors) city owned & operated, great weekend brunch with a unique cozy bar. Don't stay on the 2nd floor over the bar like I did.

We stayed in the Rose Suite last weekend. We were greeted by Boston Terrier whose name I can't…read moreremember, but he was really cute. The people were very nice as was the room/sitting room. It's really "antiquey" on the inside, like you're visiting grandma's house. I'm more partial to lighter colors and not much into having all the tables/shelves covered with antique knick knacks but it was still pretty. There was a big Godiva chocolate bar waiting for us on our bed when we arrived- yum! The bed was super comfy but not the best for tall people- it came up a little short for my 6'1" hubby. The bathroom is small with separate hot/cold faucets and a claw foot tub, but no stand-up shower. There is a shower hose attachment and great water pressure, but having to hold it while bathing reminded me of a camp shower- except for the good water pressure part. There is a modern shower to use upstairs too if that's your preference- just ask. They have a large front porch with several places to sit and read- so we did. There's big pool in the backyard with a screened-in gazebo- necessary because of the mosquitoes. Pool temperature was perfect and there are several cats that hang out back there. A huge orange striped cat named "Wally" and his much smaller but same color sidekick "Julia" let me pet them while I was hanging on the side of the pool. That was very cute especially since most cats would want nothing to do with that. It was really hot there but that's not why I went for a swim. The only place within walking distance where we could have a drink was about half a block away- The Choconut Inn. Total dive and full of smokers- that's why I went for a swim- so the chlorine could kill the smoky smell and disinfect any part of me that touched anything in the bar. We then opened the bottle of wine we brought with us and read on the porch while it rained along with thunder and lightning- an awesome summer storm! Breakfast was amazing! Berries and cream, coffee, tropical carrot juice, I think(?) for the first course followed by the best ever egg's benedict with hashbrowns topped with chived sour cream and fresh blueberry muffins. It was all soooo good! (See pic of first course) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others as well. Just bring books to read, some snacks and your own wine (you can't buy alcohol in PA unless at a bar/restaurant- I know, OMFG!) and you'll have a very enjoyable, relaxing visit.
