Everything! We visited the auto museum, the motorcycle museum and had a wonderful time every night for dinner and drinks outside.

The entire Inn is amazing. Beautifully appointed rooms, a lovely common sitting area, and a pub that is amazing. The atmosphere is top of the line, the staff is warm and helpful , and the food is incredible. The dry rubbed wings are tasty. The burgers are perfect. Incredible new outdoor patio with food and waitstaff to match. We have not found a better establishment to dine and enjoy the beautiful Sullivan County weather. Our wait person was on the job for only 3 days (Jade) and she did an excellent job explaning any of our questions. Quality of food A plus. One of our favorite stops over many years. The current owner has devoted money and resources into the property, which had fallen into disrepair. We have been coming here to this inn for over 30 years and have positive experiences. However, we got to our room and immediately smelled a strong stale smell. The room was quite small and outdated. The carpet also extremely worn and dirty. When there is basically no competition-I guess they think it's acceptable to overcharge for a less than mediocre room. Interestingly enough, we overheard the innkeeper while in the lobby talking about us and referring to a review my husband wrote. He told the girl at the front desk to move us to a better room for our second night. Sadly, not one person reached out to us, knowing we were disappointed with the state of our room and we have always paid the higher price to have good stay. We won't be back. It would have been nice for them to refund our room, or keep to their word of putting us in a better room. An innkeeper also should not be talking about his guests in the middle of the lobby either-really uncomfortable 12/5/19 So Richard responded back to my report calling me out for writing a negative experience on Yelp. That's what it's for, Richard. He only apologized for responding so late-nothing else. Was defensive and was not truthful. The bottom line, he said he was going to do something to rectify the bad experience, and never followed through. He even told a staff member. And, could not apologized for any of it. That's more disappointing than a small, smelly, outdated room that was way overpriced. My advice is to look for other options in the Eagles Mere area. read more

Stay here and support an excellent locally run and operated hotel. In speaking with Richard, the caregiver of the hotel, it was in foreclosure 4 years ago. It is now thriving and beautiful. Keep Eagles Mere, PA as great as it was when I vacationed here as a child. I am now 33 years old; I'm so glad I got to experience a piece of history here. read more

I just came back from staying at the Eagles Mere Inn and I must say, AMAZING! :o) I loved it! Very cute, quaint B&B and the staff was so friendly, from the Innskeeper, Toby, and the hostesses and waitress. The drive was very peaceful, driving though trees and greenery. The only thing was that there is absolutely no cell phone service but I guess its good in a way cause you REALLY get away from reality! The room we stayed in was so comfortable and clean. The Pub was a nice way to meet other guests and have a drink or two! :) I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Restaurant was great, rooms were not. The food served in the restaurant was great - limited choices, but prepared well. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast for two days. The bar downstairs was "homey" and local with live music - big plus. The room was not great. The carpet was stained, the sheets, pillow cases, and blanket/quilt were all stained. The bed was actually comfortable. The room was on the ground floor in the "other" building and smelled of mold. When I gently complained, I was told that there was no mold in the room and that the smell was because it was located on the ground floor next to the garden. Ok, but why does it SMELL like mold? The garden doesn't smell like mold. The website really does this place a disservice, and after talking with a few of the people who work there, I think I figured it out. Apparently one of the owners left or sold it to another owner. If you look at the photo on the website of the front porch, you will see some very nice wooden rocking chairs. Those chairs are no longer there. Maybe the other owner took them when they left? The rooms do not look like the photos. Our room was shabby - and, that the kindest thing I can say about it. If we were ever to stay at the Eagles Mere Inn again, we would insist on one of the rooms that look exactly like the rooms in the photos. You should too. read more

The staff is friendly at the Eagles Mere Inn. The rooms have a very nice arraignment. I stayed in the Forest room. While small it was cozy. Sadly there was no fridge; but I was more than able to live without the TV. Their wifi made up for the no TV. Sadly in our closet there were 2 window A/C units. The bed while appeared lovely was horrible to sleep on and squeaky. Squeaky is bad when you visit on your wedding anniversary. Their romance package was a waste of money. It was a cheap cheese platter and a vase of flowers. With no fridge there was nothing to drink in the room, and due to nearby fracking the tap water is not recommended for drinking. The food in the restaurant downstairs is touted as local and seasonal. It isn't. They offer small plates, salads, and sandwiches. All of which will end up costing you an arm and a leg when much better can be made in a home kitchen. However, if you do not have a bad back, you don't plan on doing 'marriage activities' and you do not plan on eating at this particular inn, it IS in a lovely spot in historic Eagles Mere and I would recommend it. This was a clean B & B, the staff and owner were very accommodating and friendly. The beer selection was excellent - they had something for everyone in that department (craft and microbrews from across the US and around the globe). However, the web site gives one the impression that the Inn is better than it is. The food was touted as being "local and seasonal" wherever possible. I highly doubt that. I'm married to a chef and we both had the suspicion that our food was microwaved. He ordered the veal, which came as ground meat inside a mushy puffed pastry. I ordered the chicken, and it was rubbery. The onion soup was watery, and to top everything off, the bread tasted like cardboard. We did not eat the breakfast because we'd already been disappointed. Also, the website makes the Inn appear to be hip and modern. I would disagree. We thought our room smelled like potpourri and left a lot to be desired in the decor. The online site makes it seem like the B&B is on a lake. There is a lake, but it is across the street. The actual B&B is tightly packed between other houses in a residential neighborhood. We don't get away very often, and we were disappointed with our accommodations. If, however, you are just passing through town, the Inn is clean and the staff is friendly. Ricketts Glen State Park (a 30 minute drive) is gorgeous. read more

Very accommodating! Upon our arrival the innkeeper, Richard explained that a small bit of trim work was unfinished in our originally reserved room so we were upgraded to a suite. What a beautiful, clean, comfortable room! The hot breakfast this morning was scrumptious and a special plate of vegan pancakes was prepared for me served with a blueberry preserve sauce. I was also supplied with almond milk for my coffee. Once again, the inn keepers, Richard and Tammy are very accommodating and kind. We'll be back and we will definitely recommend Eagles Mere Inn to our friends! read more

Hi We had a dinner for 8 and food was very good and service was great.All only suggestion would to have table placements and not paper silverware pouches. Also wait staff should be dressed properly not jeans and caps on backwards especially on weekends.Also boxers of supplies in check in area.Have been in service business for 40 years First impressions are very important. I have heard of this Inn since I was a child. We finally had the opportunity to stay here! We had planned a trip to Pa. to hike the falls at Ricketts Glenn. Both experiences were awesome. I have been coming to Eagles Mere for most of my life, but had never stayed at the Eagles Mere Inn. I needed to come up mod-winter so took the opportunity to see what it's like to be a guest at the Inn. It's wonderful! They are very nice, it is inviting and lovely. My room was the perfect cozy place to curl up in an armchair and read a book on a cold winters night. Dinner at the pub was delicious. They have some new items on the menu. I tried the portobello and ricotta flatbread and it was sooooo good. I ate the whole thing. Perfect with a nice glass of wine. Too bad I didn't leave room for dessert. In the morning I sat in the lovely, sunny dining room and enjoyed my veggie omelet and home fries. If you want a nice get away in a beautiful little town - this is the place for you. read more

The inn is charming, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us due to a last minute emergency. The bar and restaurant has an excellent menu and was a lovely surprise for a bed and breakfast. Ideally located, we were able to walk into town to see the sights as well as take a lovely drive to a local winery per staff recommendation. Highly recommend! read more

This is a neat historic, simple bnb. There are no alarms, phones, tvs, radios, or cell phone signal here so its great if you truly want to get away from it all. I thought for what you got, it was a bit shabby and small, but the owners were very nice and helpful. read more

My husband and I had a pleasant 2 night stay. Staff were friendly enough but not overly friendly (a total plus in my book). I liked the breakfast both mornings (made by the wife of the owner couple). We ate dinner at the on-site restaurant. This was very convenient - not many options in the area - and the food was good. As someone else stated, the food wasn't anything special however we enjoyed it. There was a delay with our meal and the waitress gave me a glass of wine and desert on the house. We stayed in the annex behind the Inn. Nice, clean room. We weren't there to watch TV but I will note that the wall mounted TV was small and hung such that the bed post obstructed our view of the screen. Great location, well kept. We'd stay there again without a doubt. read more

This was the fourth time we have stayed at the Eagles Mere Inn and the first time under the new ownership. We have enjoyed all of our stays but this was by far our most enjoyable stay.  The current owners have made significant renovations since our last stay two years ago. We stayed on the third floor and our room was clean and comfortable. They have added TV's (although we had not watched it very much), the hotel offers wifi but it is not the most reliable, but then we come to Eagles Mere to unplug. Another big renovation was the pub and the food. The first night we ate in the pub and we were very impressed with the food. We stayed with the small plates, we tried the pineapple orange habanero wings (think of the extremes of hot and sweet in one sauce. And fair warning we like hot wings but these were at our limit...good but hot), the steak and blue potato wedges (our second favorite app) and the margherita flat bread. We enjoyed our dinner so much we ate dinner at the pub the second night also. This time we had the dry rub wings, cheese steak torpedos, salad, and because we enjoyed them so much we got the steak and bleu potato wedges again. We enjoyed everything but the dry rub wings were possibly the best wings we have had anywhere.  We also had breakfast at the Inn both mornings. We were very impressed with the options. Both mornings there was fresh fruit, pumpkin bread, and juices. The first morning they also offered eggs, beacon, a French toast bread pudding and an egg and sausage strata. The second day they served waffles (the best part being the apple cider syrup), sausage with baked apples, baked oatmeal, and a potatoe casserole. We very much enjoyed breakfast both mornings. It was very good and well prepared us for hiking Worlds End State Park. The staff and management were very friendly and attentive. They had an easy manner, were easy to talk to, and went out of their way to make sure everyone was taken care of.  It was clear from the start that the new owners have put a lot of thought and effort into the guest experience. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to returning again soon. read more

We stayed here once before and wanted to come back for hubby's birthday. Inn is quaint, historic and very close to lake. Weather did not cooperate or we would have taken advantage of the lake access and kayaks the Inn provides. Brought our bikes, though they offer mountain bikes to use on the many trails nearby. Breakfasts were very good. Would have liked something more than bar type food at dinner the first night, and they do that in season. Will come again! Relaxing atmosphere at a very quiet time of year. Lots to do in season, not so much before Memorial Day. read more

Although we decided not to stay more than one night, the rooms a bit small, VERY WELL KEPT! Excellent beds, comfortable, clean, with lovely amenities. The owner is amazing! Access to country club and LOTS OF FUN ACTIVITIES. Most DEFINITELY recommend. Best in town for my taste. read more

My husband and I, along with our five year old Jack Russell Terrier had an amazing stay at Eagles Mere Inn last summer in June. The innkeeper and his wife were the nicest hosts. The Inn is warm, cozy, and very quiet- just what we wanted to get away for the week. We planned a trip to go hiking in Rickets Glenn and Worlds End State Park not expecting too much out of the trip as far as dining options. To our surprise, we had some of the best foods on this trip. Who would have expected a fine dining experience in the middle of nowhere. From breakfast to dinner, the food was just full of surprises- a spectacular farm to table experience. They even had freshly baked homemade gluten free cookies for our dog. We stayed in a pet friendly cottage which was very comfortable and clean. The town of Eagles Mere has really poor/ spotty cell phone network (which was nice for a change). The town has so much history, it's incredible. This was by far one of the most relaxing trips we've ever taken and we plan on going back to the Inn again soon. read more

This is the second time we stayed at the Inn. This time due to work issues we arrived late at night. The innkeeper, Richard, was waiting for us on the front porch. He made sure we had all we needed before closing up for the night. The room reminded me of staying over night at grandmother's house, but unlike grandmother's house the old fashioned bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spacious complete with a tub and a shower. . The homemade breakfast both mornings was delicious, the innkeeper was delightful and the waiter was very helpful. The food down in the pub was just as tasty and the bartender was so helpful in introducing us to a new drink. During our stay we were able to use the kayaks that the inn supplies and got out on Eagles Mere Lake. We also took a long walk on the path along the lake. read more

While everyone was friendly and service was good the food was not so edible. You get a choice of 3 meals. Salad was acceptable (lettuce and cranberries) dressing choices were unique and tasty. Bread to table was not warm and was an oat meal bread (ok). Soup was a mango gazpacho; palette cleanser was a mango sorbet - no choices it's just what they give you. I had the stuffed shrimp and it tasted very "fishy" portion was very small. Husband had pork tenderloin and his was dry and also very small (2 thinly sliced pieces). This review is for the restaurant only. We were the only people in the restaurant and the waitress acted like it was a hassle to serve us. Never came back to see if we needed drink refills. A guest who was sitting on the porch when we arrived was friendlier and more welcoming. Food was fine, nothing spectacular. read more

The inn owners are some of the nicest people we met during our vacation. They were very accommodating, even when we visited in between lunch and dinner time. The food was also delicious! We stayed in the Water Carnival suite. Very large beautiful room. Well kept grounds. Innkeeper Richard so welcoming & helpful despite being temporarily short staffed. Large hearty home cooked breakfast with things like blueberry peach tart, peach baked oatmeal, country ham, and fresh fruit. Very relaxing. Charming little town with friendly locals. read more

What a great Restaurant and Inn! After hearing wonderful reviews from friends who stayed and ate here we took our German visitors to dinner in October. Started in the Pub for beers. They have a vast variety of quality beers from around the Country and Internationally. We each had a different one including "Blithering Idiot" at 11.1% alcohol! It was a comfortable casual spot and we enjoyed the beers. Then we went upstairs for dinner. Had a great 5 course dinner. One had a Tilapia main dish, 2 had Duck Breast with a delicious hint of Maple glaze and I had an outstanding Lamb Shank. The Lamb came from Jamison Farms, used by many top Restaurants in the Country. The Chef/Innkeeper uses many local products making his own Bacon, Sausage, Strawberry Preserves and etc.. This is a high quality Restaurant which includes their dinner in the price of rooms. The Inn is homey, clean and comfortable - in an idyllic little Resort town, with Innkeepers and Staff who really understand and provide personal hospitality. read more
