Located in the center of the Eagles Mere Historic Village and adjacent to the iconic Eagles Mere Lake, the Inn was built in 1887 and most recently renovated in 2015. Our picturesque Inn celebrates the history of Eagles Mere with each of its 17 rooms named after historic places, events and people. Guests will delight in the vast collection of historic pictures and artifacts that dot each room. Like most small country inns, a delicious country breakfast is included in our room rates. The Inn's A.C.Little's Drinkery offers the perfect setting to relax or take in a sporting event on our large-screen TV. Dinner is available nightly inside or out (weather permitting) from our small plate menu while our beverages feature fine wines and micro-breweries. Whether planning a romantic weekend getaway, a family reunion, corporate retreat or a small wedding, the Eagles Mere Inn is the perfect answer. Come for a day and you'll love it forever.History of Eagles Mere Beginning around 1870, Eagles Mere evolved as the "East Hampton" of Philadelphia, morphing into a famous mountain resort, to become the summer playground for vacationers escaping the heat in such cities as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Harrisburg. A number of large hotels surrounded the lake and provided seasonal retreats for thousands of visitors each year as did turn-of-the-century Victorian cottages. The town remains on the National Register of Historic Places. While the Inn is an original structure from the earliest time in Eagles Mere, many of the charming - and sometimes rambling - "cottages" remain as reminders of a refined past, sometimes referred to as, "The Town that Time Forgot." Today, Eagles Mere beckons residents and visitors from around the world. A place where generations of families return each year to wile away summer days, marvel at the unspoiled lake and forest, boat, swim, golf or be lured away for a simple weekend getaway with a promise of natural beauty, friendly folks and so much more Thank You All.

I walked ahead and was checked in by Hannah, a very welcoming and helpful concierge. Meanwhile, as my bf got our bags from the car, he was greeted by Bella, the inn keeper's sweet dog! She walked and guided him from the parking area to the office (which was the coolest)! The standard room was great. The bathroom is spacious with comfy foot rugs. The tv and wifi were a wonderful convenience, and the bed and sheets were so soft!! The halls are adorned with historic pieces of art and documents. And outside of the building are tables, chairs, and a hammock for relaxing outdoors. In addition to all this, the building has a commons area with ping pong, a pool table, TV, and cozy couches and chairs. It felt like a home lounge, and we had a blast indulging in the table games and watching Sunday Night football. We decided to have dinner at the Crestmont, and in every regard, it exceeded our expectations. Hannah kept us company as we had a couple drinks at the bar, and then we were seated for dinner. My boyfriend was happy to see 2 different steak entree options on the menu, and a 3rd steak option as a special. Our meal began with complementary homemade bread. It was an herb bread, warm, and was absolutely phenomenal! We ordered the steak frites as our appetizer. This dish was incredibly creative. The steak pieces were tender and full of flavor, and it was drizzled with parmesan cheese and a gorgonzola sauce. Neither of us are into gorgonzola, since it's such a strong flavor, but it blended in extremely well with the steak. So well that we ate every bite. Our entrees came out soon thereafter. For me - hoisin duck with sweet potato mash and charred spinach. The meat was fresh and hardy, perfectly seasoned and flavored. The mash and spinach were amazing. For him - the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus and a special sauce. Honestly, this steak was so good, that my bf says it's the best steak he has ever had. I tried it too - it's other worldly! This steak is so juicy and tender and packed with flavor. I would recommend this to anyone that likes steak. We could compliment and praise this dish all day. And the mash potatoes that come with it are so fluffy and deliciously seasoned. To simply sum this up, these entree dishes blew our minds. Finally came dessert - a half baked chocolate chip cookie a la mode and a vanilla creme Brulee. Both of these were outstanding, as well. The creme brulee was thinly crispy on the surface, a delicate and sweet texture, and beneath it was the creamy, rich vanilla custard. It was really really good, but if I had to pick, the cookie a la mode was even better. This cookie is no ordinary cookie.... this is the ultimate. It was crispy on top, gooey, and warm, almost like a melty brownie right out of the oven. It was topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate and caramel drizzle. This cookie is heavenly! After dinner, we finished our drinks at the bar while we watched the game, and hung out with Hannah and Bella (the dog). All-in-all, the entire night was the best, and we were happy and full when we went to bed. The following night, we met Tony, the owner and chef of the Crestmont. He was extremely kind and gracious, and we were so glad to compliment him in person on the dinner from the night before. We assured him that we would be by for breakfast in the morning, and that our stay has been fantastic. The next morning, we had an amazing breakfast cooked by and served by Tony. The food was outstanding. I had coffee and pancakes with blackberry sauce, two eggs, and a sausage, and my bf had eggs and rye toast with pineapple juice and hot cocoa. We were both surprised to find out that this beautiful breakfast was included with our room rate, so we did not owe for breakfast. Tony, you are the man - thank you again for everything. We will absolutely be back in the summer to stay again!!

It sits just off the Buckhorn exit on Route 80, perfectly placed for weary travelers who want to be done driving as soon as they see the sign. There are gas stations nearby, a Walmart within a stone's throw, and a scattering of restaurants to keep you fed. There is a mall across the street too, though it is fading away, more ghost than marketplace. This hotel is consistently, remarkably, well-kept. The rooms are spotless and quiet. The pool is clean and welcoming. Despite only coming one night a year, the staff greet us as though we are long-lost cousins finally arriving for the family reunion. Every interaction is pleasant, genuine, and unrushed. Breakfast is exactly what a Holiday Inn Express breakfast should be. You will find pre-made omelettes, bacon, sausage, breads and pastries, cereals, yogurts, fruit, and the famous cinnamon rolls that seem designed to undo whatever restraint you showed at the rest of the buffet. Coffee is available all day, but this year there was a change worth noting. They have replaced the large communal cisterns with sleek Costa coffee machines that grind whole beans and brew each cup fresh. The old coffee was never bad, but now it is actively good. In the lobby there is a small sundries store with snacks, microwave meals, and a modest beer selection featuring Bud, Corona, Miller Genuine Draft, and Yuengling. Handy for the traveler who realizes they would like to end the day with something cold in hand. After a dozen years, this hotel still delivers exactly what I hope for when I book it. Clean rooms, friendly people, a good night's sleep, and a short drive to the park in the morning. It is the best value in the area, hands down.
