The menu was classic American home town cooking. I got the pork chop with beer sauce and he got chicken tenders. The chop was so good it didn't need the sauce it was so juicy, although the sauce added a nice touch. The tenders were good and their special sauce was spicy but delicious. These both came with sides - delicious glazed carrots, steamed broccoli, a baked potato for him and rice pilaf for me. Needless to say it was hardy and filling, definitely perfect for a long day on the road. And their dessert. Just do it. It's all homemade. They have a sour cream apple crumb pie that's light but rich. Its so unique, I've never had anything like it. It combines custard with apple strudel. My boyfriend couldn't put his fork down. We got the sticky bun to go, it was sweet, cinnamon-y, and the dough was tender. When we went to pay they gave us two mugs with their logo on it! The staff/owners are such a sweet smart bunch and it was a comforting place for visitors. It was an absolutely sweet experience. It's a family business that really cares about their customers and where their business is going.

Stop here. Book this motel. Do yourself a favor. Choose this one…read more While on a recent road trip, I wasn't planning to stop for the night, but around 3:30AM, with the roads a sheet of ice, the sight of this motel up ahead provided an astonishing relief. Here I was in the middle of nowhere, wondering how I was going to calm my nerves and coax my rental car into ice skating the rest of the way to the interstate...and I just happened to be about a tenth of a mile away from a motel! Thank goodness, right? It gets better. I was only hoping for three things: a place to get safely off the road, a bed to sleep in while I waited for better weather, and a place to brush my teeth when I woke up. I was delighted beyond my expectations. Pros * Friendly staff. The manager, Pat, was accommodating, polite, and conversational. If she was bothered that I woke her up in the wee hours of the morning when I needed to rent a room, she certainly didn't show it. She made me feel welcome. She even took a minute to show me how to use the remotes for the heater and the TV. * Safe neighborhood. I locked my car & my room but probably didn't need to lock either. * Clean, comfortable bed. Firm mattress. Sheets were clean--and seemed brand new. Three regular-sized pillows. Warm blankets. * Full bathroom. Want a shower? You got it. Bath? No problem. Water heated quickly and stayed hot. Plenty of towels and washcloths were provided in the bathroom and on the shelf next to it. * The room had a bedside lamp, but unlike other hotels/motels, The Endless Mountains Motel uses overhead lights. * Bonus points: small desk with an office chair, coffee spread (I think there was tea, too,) microwave, minifridge, TV with lots of channel choices, a small dish of candy on the bedside table, magazines and even a couple of novels available on the shelf next to the bathroom. If you like waking up to the morning sun, you can probably leave the blind open--unless you're extremely tall, the height of the window will protect your privacy. The room was decorated with a taste for nature--a painting or print of a deer; bedding decorated with bear, moose, pine trees and pine cones; a star on one wall. If I ever live in a studio apartment again, I hope I furnish it as well as this motel room. * Low price. I paid under $60, but given the quality and my need for a place to wait out the weather, a higher price would still have seemed fair. (Edit: I had forgotten to mention this when I first posted.) Things to be Aware Of * The window has a curtain along the top, and yes, there is a blind behind the curtain! If you're looking to sleep in, you can shut out the light. If you like waking up to the morning sun, you can probably leave the blind open--unless you're extremely tall, the height of the window will protect your privacy. Cons * None. Overall, I'm grateful to the lousy winter weather. If not for the ice and wind, I'd have missed the experience of staying at this lovely motel. Edit: I would like to reposition the order of my photos but am not sure how.

But we have been so thrilled with our stay that I just had to leave a review for them, especially considering the absence of reviews on Yelp. This place is just absolutely wonderful! The scenic view is astounding, yes it may be extremely rural, but if you are looking for that, I wouldn't look anywhere else in the area. The resort is seated on top of the "Endless Mountains", which are indeed, seemingly endless. The units are wonderful, they are split level with 2 bedrooms downstairs, the master BR connects to a bathroom with a shower, which then connects to a beautiful room cedar wood room with a Jacuzzi and inside of that room is a sauna. The other bedroom has a bathroom with shower as well. Upstairs is a kitchen and living room with a fireplace and deck. The absolute best part about the resort is the staff. I have never in my life experienced such wonderful staff! Georgia and Mike run the front desk and are the nicest people you could ever ask to talk to. They are beyond helpful, filled with recommendations and insights about the area, and are beyond accommodating. Also, Laura, who lives on the resort and closes down the recreational building, is an absolute delight! She is very nice and helpful and even fun to hang out with! I 200% recommend this place if you are looking for a mountainous vacation surrounded by the best staff you could imagine.

It sits just off the Buckhorn exit on Route 80, perfectly placed for weary travelers who want to be done driving as soon as they see the sign. There are gas stations nearby, a Walmart within a stone's throw, and a scattering of restaurants to keep you fed. There is a mall across the street too, though it is fading away, more ghost than marketplace. This hotel is consistently, remarkably, well-kept. The rooms are spotless and quiet. The pool is clean and welcoming. Despite only coming one night a year, the staff greet us as though we are long-lost cousins finally arriving for the family reunion. Every interaction is pleasant, genuine, and unrushed. Breakfast is exactly what a Holiday Inn Express breakfast should be. You will find pre-made omelettes, bacon, sausage, breads and pastries, cereals, yogurts, fruit, and the famous cinnamon rolls that seem designed to undo whatever restraint you showed at the rest of the buffet. Coffee is available all day, but this year there was a change worth noting. They have replaced the large communal cisterns with sleek Costa coffee machines that grind whole beans and brew each cup fresh. The old coffee was never bad, but now it is actively good. In the lobby there is a small sundries store with snacks, microwave meals, and a modest beer selection featuring Bud, Corona, Miller Genuine Draft, and Yuengling. Handy for the traveler who realizes they would like to end the day with something cold in hand. After a dozen years, this hotel still delivers exactly what I hope for when I book it. Clean rooms, friendly people, a good night's sleep, and a short drive to the park in the morning. It is the best value in the area, hands down.

Average price per night was $400 (demand pricing - rooms normally run about $120) which in itself was fine given the limited options in the area. We don't always stay in luxury hotels - primary Marriott properties are the norm (Courtyards, Fairfield, etc.). Cons: - Very dirty (elevators, the actual room, floors, hallways, carpet, etc.) - Room and entire place had a strange vinegar/chemical/odd smell - especially in the room.
