But The Pavilion at the Park does just fine. You're only sleeping here anyway. The bed is comfortable enough, the shower is hot enough, the room is cozy enough, and the hotel is clean enough. It ticks all of the boxes for the price. I give it 4* instead of 5* because there's not really a front desk person available at all hours. So if you need something, you are kinda up a creek, so make sure you take with you everything you need.

This was a minor inconvenience but I thought I would add to the totality of my review. The dining area was not packed and our server had three tables, including ours. Our server never asked us for refills and only visited the table to check on us after we ate our food. Other than that, the server was nonexistent. I ordered Mike's Lookout House Steak cooked medium. The steak was overcooked and barely red inside and was very chewy. The garlic they placed on top came in big chunks, was soft and mushy, and tasted horrible. It was my mistake that I didnt have it sent back to the kitchen. When we got our check, the server reached over, directly in front of my friends face, and almost grazed her head with the small gray check tray. I never seen an act like this before at a restaurant. Typing it out doesnt give it enough justice. Overall, the service was bad, the food was bad, and the atmosphere was outdated. We are definitely not going back. Lookout for this place, and stay away!

Kinda hard to gauge these places as there is a wide breadth in quality for a lot of these items. My party received the crab fries and I got the fried haddock. The crab fries were excellent. Enough crab and cheese for each individual fry. I forget the specific sauce but I found myself dunking frequently. The fried haddock was light, flaky whitefish but filling. The tartar sauce was excellently tangy and refreshing. I have a feeling they make it in-house. I had two beers and the tab came out to around $40. For a Friday evening, I would call this a high quality experience to banter with friends or coworkers.

The crab fries are my go to. This night happened to be steak night. We shared the sharing steak board special and it did not disappoint and fed 3 adults and a toddler! Desserts were yummy as well. While I get the raspberry cheesecake every chance I get if they have it, tonight we had the blueberry and banana deserts. And they were amazing! After we left, the owner extorted $600 from us, saying we left the house dirty with fingerprints on glass windows and doors. I tided up the house before we left and it was in the same condition as when we arrived. I did not wash the windows and doors, as it is understood that the owner is supposed to hire cleaners before the new tenant arrives. Very rude and unfair owner, who tries to squeeze every penny from you for the house that is very very far from luxury.

We were pretty bummed they were out of clams but the dishes we had were good. Glad it's still a great place to go in the middle of nowhere with memorable decor. If I could change one thing... they need larger glasses for soda and water. They were so busy and we had to ask for numerous refills especially since their soda glasses were tiny. Service also felt harried with a number of small mix ups but this all felt like typical growing pains. We will definitely be back!
