I decided to write my first yelp review because of how awesome this place is. If a spacious…read moremodernized cabin/lodge is your thing then you won't be disappointed. Even though it feels very remote, the grocery store is only 2 miles away. A fireplace on each level and updated appliances make it very inviting. There was more then enough wood stockpiled for us. Its pricey but can easily accommodate multiple families to make the cost reasonable. There is a ping pong table in the basement and my only suggestion would be to add a pinball machine and/or arcade style game. We went to nearby Hawn's Overlook of Raystown lake. Absolutely beautiful. We hope to make Bear's Paw Lodge a pre-christmas tradition. Though I can see this place growing in popularity.

This is our 2nd weekend to stay at this lovely cottage (used to be a barn) which has wonderful sleeping accommodations for many people. It's like a large studio with a kitchen, desk, dining area, bathroom, living room and bedroom. There's a TV with Direct TV, a stereo system, a bookshelf with books, DVD's and CD's. If there are more than 2 people staying, the owners add a twin bed. There's also a futon and a sofa sleeper for 1. In speaking with the owner, she really wanted to make this place as comfortable as can be and has added many amenities to make your stay comfortable. The refrigerator has jam, butter, peanut butter, fruit, yogurt, granola, orange juice to get your morning started. She also provides guests with bread or muffins in the morning. Of course there is coffee or tea ready to brew. When you wake up in the morning, you open up the blinds to a beautiful yard which you can wander around and enjoy the arbor swing. I wish I had discovered this place sooner because it's a wonderful and relaxing place to stay.

While essentially a single space, it is nicely divided into a separate bedroom area, a roomy living area and a comfortable kitchen. A large bathroom and a second bedroom complete the layout. The entire cottage is nicely decorated and is also very neat and clean. Both the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped and user friendly. A variety of snacks are provided. What also makes The Barn special is that it is definitely dog friendly. We always bring our small dog with us and he seems to enjoy the experience as much as we do. There is a basket of dog toys near the front door, dog treats are provided and two dog bowls are located in the kitchen area. Thus, both human and canine guests are warmly welcomed! Not only is the cottage itself a wonderful retreat but it is located on a beautiful piece of property that is very nicely landscaped and easily accessed. A well constructed concrete walk leads directly from the parking area to the front door. At the rear of the house, a sliding glass door opens onto the large backyard which slopes gently down to a beautiful meadow. Guests are invited to walk the property and we are always happy to do so. Despite the bucolic atmosphere, The Barn is very conveniently located. It is within a couple of miles of downtown Lewisburg, Bucknell University and a variety of stores and restaurants. Finally, the the owners, Tanya and Fred, are friendly, accommodating and clearly committed to providing their guests with a wonderful experience. I can honestly say that we've thoroughly enjoyed each visit and always look forward to our next stay. I wholeheartedly recommend The Barn at Pheasant Ridge to anyone visiting the Lewisburg area. The Barn and its owners are waiting to welcome you!

Uneven boards on the deck are a major tripping hazard, the concrete is like an ice rink when it's wet, the stairs to the lower deck are an uneven trip hazard and the gate at the top of the stairs is warped and can't be latched. The metal stairs down to the creek are narrow and steep, and the concrete steps at the bottom are broken and crooked. The ONLY thing this place has going for it is the swimming hole, if you survive the trip down to get in. But you can access the swimming hole through public land on the other side of the creek without renting this place. Little Bear cabin is newer and more comfortable, although they didn't waste any money on comfortable mattresses. But the yard isn't much bigger than a postage stamp and the trip down to the creek is laced with tree roots, it's steep, and where there are stairs, they have a rough surface that will tear at your feet. In both cabins, you are expected to completely clean the house, including wiping down the bathroom, wiping out the refrigerator, wiping down all of the counters and appliances, stripping the beds, sorting the linens, and sweeping the floors. Aside from a broom, cleaning supplies are not provided. And you're expected to have this all done and be out by 10:00 AM. As far as I can tell, all the "cleaning crew" does is make up the beds. On top of all this, the proprietors are rude, intrusive, and clearly not suited to be in the hospitality business.
