It was nice to sit outside with the leaves falling. This was special to me as I live in Florida and do not have the privileges of seeing falling leaves. Jamie the owner was very pleasant, informative. I tried calling for two days to make reservations, left messages she did return my call. Jamie is running the campground during the week by herself, said she was working outside and apologized for not answering the phone. Don't let this deter you, I am sure you would be very please!! Just another little note very much into recycling. Cans, plastic bags etc. they have big bins for them. KEEP AMERICA CLEAN

I had the chance to try out Pioneer Campground over Memorial Day weekend. We ended up renting two…read morecampsites, one of which had electric and one which was primitive. The site numbers were 86 and 87. The sites are pretty close to one another, which is good if you're going with a group of people - you'll never be too far away from one another. It's not so good when you are located next to a group of college kids who can't figure out how to start a fire, or who play dance music when you're trying to relax. The electricity on our site was on the fritz when we first arrived, but the owner remedied that problem extremely quickly. Another good "customer service" experience at this campground was that the ice and firewood were both readily accessible and you could take things as you needed them and pay later. I also liked that there was a pool here and some on-site activities (for kids especially). What I did not like was that the bathrooms were located at the center of the camp, connected to the office and store. There were only two showers in said bathrooms, and the one closest to the door had absolutely zero water pressure; I couldn't get the soap off my body. I found out a day later that the shower further from the door actually did have decent water pressure, so that ended up working out alright. If you need to use the bathroom and can't walk/don't want to walk all the way to the center of the grounds, you can use a port-a-potty instead. I have to say, though, I just couldn't get used to them. It was gross (even though I did see it get emptied every single day), and there were spiders and creepy crawlies living in it every time I went to go use it. There's nothing like trying to hover above the toilet seat while simultaneously avoiding spiders crawling around you. There are water spouts every few camp sites, so we could clean our dishes that way. Overall this was a perfectly acceptable place to camp over Memorial Day weekend when all of the state parks were booked up with campers. I wish it was closer to World's End or Ricketts Glen, because we had to drive a solid thirty minutes to reach a nice hiking ground.

While it was…read morepouring down rain I had to move my vehicle, I temporarily parked in a grassy spot, which is right next to our campsite. The owner, in a very demeaning manner, yelled at me to move my vehicle. Let me say, I am a woman. So, he made me very upset, I was shaking, his voice was loud and nasty. As I'm shaking, I'm trying to move my vehicle, obviously it gets stuck, and as he stands there giving me a nasty look, does not offer to help, but stands there with his "friend" and spoke nasty. Thankfully a camper from a near campsite came over to help. Another incident in the same weekend...... My husband and our children were in the community pool. The owner's son was loudly making fun on them and swearing. Let's just say favoritism at its best! And another FYI..... Don't be near the road when the owner is driving around in his golf cart!! He drives faster in that than a vehicle will be allowed to drive through here. And don't ask to have your black tank emptied in a timely manner, campers near us had to wait 2 days to get emptied!

This is our 4th year as a seasonal at this campground. So we definately enjoy coming here year…read moreafter year. Located along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in Winfield, Pa. This is probably one of the best located campgrounds along the river. The West branch is the clean side of the Susquehanna and boaters regularly come up here to tie off and enjoy the water. It is also located directly between Selinsgrove and Lewisburg. That makes it real handy for visiting Selinsgrove Brewing in Selinsgrove and Laughing Chameleon in Lewisburg. The people that camp here are what really makes it enjoyable. However this place also has its issues. The maintainance by the owners is horrible. We are always in fear of a tree or tree branches falling onto our campers. We have been without power at our site for most of the season do far. We are plugged into a site across the creek so we have power but none of the other 3 sites Ali g side us have power. There is no camp store here at all to get supplies from which just baffles my mind. And there are rarely ever any weekend campers that come in. It is usually just us seasonal campers. I could go on but will just stop there. With all that said we still love it here in spite of the ownership.

This used to be a nice fun place years ago, then the lack of ground maintenance and the owner's…read moreneed for personal involvement in guests' lives has run the place into the ground. Check out our shared photos showing the faulty electrical, unusable water, and general unsafe conditions where dead trees fall at any given time, and you will see why you want to avoid this place at any cost. Faulty wires and dangerous overloaded circuits cause several campers to have their electronics fried. 12 camping sites were told they couldn't use their air conditioners on the hottest days of 2018 because they had the circuits so overloaded you couldn't get more than 80 volts out of a 120 volt line. They literally tie extension cords together and run them to the tent sites for power! The water quality is 100% unusable. The river water is actually cleaner than the tap water. The owner likes to make 100's of rules and then travels from site to site gossiping about the other guests. Real professional way to run a business? The small group that she uses as her spies, however, has immunity to the rules and can do whatever they want. If you approach her with a maintenance issue or problems you are experiencing she throws her hands in the air and says "what do you want me to do about it?" We want you to fix it, that's normally what a groundskeeper does especially when you are paying almost $1600 a year, plus $400 for a boat dock that was pulled out weeks earlier despite the stated camping CONTRACT dates. They market it as family friendly but the playground is unsafe for kids. Every time another dead tree falls they chop it up and dump it in the playground lot. There is a huge pile of logs which has become habitat for snakes, raccoons and rodents. This is literally a few feet from where your children are supposed to play. The rats have even eaten holes through guests campers! Hopefully in the near future an investor buys it out and restores it back to what it once was, but at this point the place is so far gone it seems hopeless, and the owner could care less once she gets your check. There used to be a lot of great people there and everyone treated each other like family, but those days are gone since the owner has basically chased everyone away with her personal meddling and lack of professionalism. Sorry to say ~ It Changed. Alcohol everywhere, at the pool, in the pool. Loud music blaring. I was not expecting this. Why can't there be alcohol after 4? Why all day in the pool? And yes, everything is extra. Slides? Mini golf? Extra Would like to see a change in the alcohol /pool thing. Not ALL of us are drinkers.

However, there is not much shade and the biggest downfall, I would say, is that the restaurant on site is closed, and there is no camp store. There is a beer distributor on the property, but that's it. It would be nice to have a camp store like most campgrounds, and having the restaurant open would be a huge plus since there really isn't anything nearby. The hike to the falls is nice, and they are very pretty. If you like being in the middle of basically nowhere, this is a great little find. We did enjoy our time there, but there are some things that would make it a whole lot better.

It's very quiet there and the people are phenomenal that stay there. He has big plans for this campground and it takes people like you reading this to come support him. Go and stay there and get some much-needed relaxation. It doesn't matter if you're bringing a Hamic Tent RV Couch or the largest 5th Wheel you can think of there's room for you there. We stayed in cabin 1 and it was nice. Remember to bring comfortable bedding. There's a Camp beverage that has adult slushy's and most adult drinks. The campground bathrooms are clean and Showers are nice. There's a downhill hiking trail down to the Falls that are very nice. And if you if you're into Sasquatch, you will love this place. Camp store is growing by the day. They are still looking for a person to run the camp restaurant. Added bonus is There's a genaral Store, a half a mile from the camp ground that's perfect. It's a beautiful clean Campground. We are hoping in time that more stone is added to the full hookup sites we used this year. When it rains the sites are muddy. We have been camping here for the last four or five memorial day weekends. We really like it here…read more It's a nice campground, but there are too many golf carts. They're just riding by your campsite constantly. It's very annoying. Quiet time is supposed to be after 11:00pm but some golf carts were still riding past our site until 11:30 at night. 90 percent of the sites are seasonal campers so everyone has golf carts. Also no one is supposed to be driving a golf cart unless they have a driver's license. But late at nite I saw a kid about 13 or 14 driving with adults. The staff are friendly and it is a nice campground.

It was very buggy when we arrived (late July) but the weather turned cooler and we had beautiful weather for our four night stay. There was no sewer or water hookup at our site but the bathhouse was close. We walked some of the trails and everything was beautiful. We brought kayaks but the water we paddled in by the dam was just ok. Lots of vegetation close to the surface, etc. We stayed to visit friends nearby. Dogs are welcome but they don't want you walking them by the no-pet sites, which is a little awkward.

It's a very nice area with picnic tables, a playground, and a beach available along the water, which can be used for swimming and boating. The dam above the lake provides a great place to get a good overlook of the area to enjoy. There are several trails that run through the park. Camping, including yurts and cottages, are also available. The staff in the park office were friendly and helpful.

Bob and Diane are fun and super accommodating, and will treat you like family. All the locals, are wildly entertaining (fighting the urge to talk nuclear physics? No prob, meet rick!) We like this place so much, this weekend we got married there. Bob and Diane went above and beyond to make sure my day was perfect. We will be back, as we always do.
