Would give zero if I could. I'm going to list my experience below that I put on the Cracker Barrel chat engine and got an AI assistant that wanted me to rephrase my question. Do not eat at the Jackson, TN location it is the most horrible experience ever! Visited the Jackson, TN location tonight for dinner and what a horrible experience! First, the greeter was very pleasant. Acknowledged me, had a great smile. Then it went downhill, the server was not very friendly. No acknowledgment or greeting, just what do you want to drink. I was still deciding about food and she said you want me to come back for your order and I said yes. I ordered the biscuit and gravy plat with bacon and a side of pancakes and a coke. I got the coke pretty quickly, but when I drank most of it, she came out with a glass of coke and filled my cup up and said I'm going to leave this here. My presumption was she wasn't going to provide very good service since she was leaving behind things for me to do myself. She proceeded to bring out a basket of biscuits with the gravy. No plate, just that. She told me she was waiting for the bacon and a plate. Time went by as my biscuits and gravy were getting cold because I had nothing to eat them on, she banged my plate of bacon down, no pancakes, so I still don't have my complete meal. I asked her was my entire meal going to be piece-milled like this and she said we're down to one cook. I told her I wasn't going to sit here and let my food get cold before all of it arrived, I would pay for my coke but they could have the food back. Went to pay for my drink and the cashier asked me how my experience was and I proceeded to tell him and he immediately called for a manager. The manager walked up and said to the employee, "this has been some night". She never asked me what the problem was, never said sorry for the experience, nothing. It you're taken care of honey. Walked out of there being treated like I was trying to get something for free, which I was not. This is the second bad experience in two weeks. Something needs to be done about this location. I've been to many locations and this one is by far the worst location ever. I will never darken their doorstep again and will tell everyone about my experience! read more

Cracker Barrel helpfully permits RVers to use their parking lots overnight with the polite request that we please make a purchase. We did so, though it was dinner earlier at the Cracker Barrel in Dyersburg. After dinner, we decided to drive another 45 minutes this evening so that we'd have less driving tomorrow. I was at this restaurant with my family for 3hr!!!! There is bad service and need a lot of improvement. These waiters have a lot of attitude and need to be taught discipline. Some of my family got their food hours before the rest and they messed up most of the food and had to remake it. We have been to this restaurant many times, and sometimes we were very disappointed. This was not one of those times. The server was exceptional (unfortunately, I can't remember her name). The food was amazingly good. Dad had the fried chicken with baby carrots and dumplings. He raved over the carrots and said that they were the best he's ever had. He also said that the chicken was very good, too. As an afterthought, he told me that the dumplings were good, also. I had the grilled chicken tenders with steak fries and fried apples. The direst store I have ever been in and I have been in many. The man who seemed to be in charge needs to wear clean clothes. Cracker Barrel is always very consistent. Service was friendly, food was good. This time we were traveling with our camper and had dinner instead of our normal breakfast. They have designated RV/bus parking, which we just found out about. I was super happy, this will be our go-to when we need to stop at a place overnight, we felt very safe. I believe you have to call the Cracker Barrels ahead of time to confirm they have the spaces and if you can stay overnight. It was nice to have a relaxing dinner and do some shopping after a long days drive. read more

Uber eats delivery! I ordered the combo with meatloaf and fried chicken breasts, and upgraded to a salad and loaded baked potato. It took over an hour and got a call saying they were out of meatloaf. I agreed to sub w/ more chicken. Got my order very late and everything was cold. The forgot my sour cream and instead gave me tartar sauce. Potatoes were rock hard even after heated so inedible. Salad had nasty tomatoes and only filled my small salad dressing container half full, which was not enough. Chicken was pretty good, even reheated. We dropped in at this Jackson location with a large family group at a peak hour, but after moving a few tables and chairs we were seated promptly. Service was friendly and efficient and food was good. Some problems at checkout though, as we asked to have our total tab simply split equally between three credit cards. This was quite beyond what their cash register system could handle, however. I would suggest that Cracker Barrel management look into making this possible on their system, as I'm sure that this is not a rare request by customers and would be quicker than handling separate checks from a large table. read more

Simply, not a good experience. To start, when one of my friends ordered the SAME MEAL that he had ordered a week before, this confused the waitress. However, this was not a big deal. We were aware that she was new, and we gave her grace because I can only imagine how hard it must be to learn a new skill when your brain is the size of a walnut. The issue here is that she did not attempt to resolve this issue by discussing it with my friend; instead, she had another server explain the problem. So, once that fiasco is settled and my friend has ordered the right meal, she comes back over to our table. She proceeds to explain to us that she was wrong, and my friend politely explains that the wording of the menu was misleading. While talking to us, she progressively gets more and more passive-aggressive. Like, calm down, this is just a Cracker Barrel on a Wednesday night, not some sort of high-pressure Michelin star restaurant, and it's not like we were asking for the moon to be lassoed, fried, and buttered. After this annoyance, the rest of us got our orders in (Important note: there was a two-top that was seated maybe twenty minutes after we ordered.) We wait, and wait, and wait. Then, we see that the two-top is receiving their food way before we even got a refill on our waters. Naturally, this peeves us, and our patience is starting to run thin. At this point, we have been in the restaurant for almost an hour and have only gotten one round of drinks, three napkins, and a bad attitude. When we received our food, my other friend got the wrong meal. She ordered a country-fried steak and received the chicken. Like hello??? That's not even close? Anyhow, we did not want to be the complainer table, so she started to eat the sides. I orded the Momma's breakfast with pancakes, and I requested maple syrup, because who wants plain pancakes? The waitress says, "That will be right out", but we waited about ten minutes, and no sign of the syrup. Finally, my friend's patience breaks, and he asks another server if the manager is there. The manager comes out and basically tells us that he is going to take some things off the bill for us. He disappears to the back; I can only assume that he is seeing how much time we have spent in the restaurant. The time we had been in there,at this point, would be around two hours. He reappears and tells us that he is going to take care of the entire bill. This was very much appreciated. So, we decided to go to the store part of the Cracker Barrel. We stand at the checkout for about five minutes while the two cashiers are discussing the latest work drama in front of our faces as we wait to be rung up. Eventually, they stop yammering, and one of them rings up our items. The most frustrating part of this entire experience was that my friends and I were traveling, and by the time we were leaving the Cracker Barrel, we could have been at our destination. The moral of the story is, do not go to Cracker Barrel; the food is mediocre and overly sweet, the service is sloppy, and the bathrooms are dirty. Save your time, money, and sanity. read more

As an RV Traveler, we value Cracker Barrel and the manager here has been very accommodating to our larger Class A but this specific restaurant has consistently served terrible food and we will not return. We've been here twice across 4 months and the meatloaf was dry and hard, the chicken fried steak was more breading than steak, tasteless and barely warm gravy. The mashed potatoes were hard like a pancake and the teaspoon of gravy was a joke. The ribs were tolerable compared to a TV dinner but were mostly slathered in sticky bland sauce. Literally the ONLY thing we got here made well was the French fries. We threw out much of it in the end. They get two stars because they let us borrow their parking lot for the night, else it would have been a single. $35 to "feed" two people without drinks with food worse than a microwaved frozen meal. We visited on Thanksgiving night with family and experienced an unacceptable series of service failures. After a 1.5-hour wait, we were informed that the restaurant was out of Chicken and Dumplings. We then waited an additional 27 minutes for our alternate order. When the meal was finished, we were left waiting another 20 minutes just to receive the check--despite the circumstances, we should not have been expected to pay. Had a good experience here like I do at all Cracker Barrels. The store was clean and well organized as was the restaurant. All the staff was friendly and helpful. I tried the grilled catfish and while I was not a fan, I will say I've had their fried catfish before and really enjoyed it. They (well all Cracker Barrels) get docked a star due to the removal of apple slices from the side options. Any Cracker Barrel ive been to deserves 6 stars. This location is a sad cry of what we are use to. MAX - our server was NOT happy to serve us. Not a smile, not a hello, just uh "what y'all want?" with a tone of voice of "can I leave yet"? We were traveling with our 2 small kids and I know from serving that kids make a mess.
