The Shareables menu seems small for a restaurant, but the focus is on the entrees and sides. The White cheddar bites is fried cheese curds with a side of ranch. They come out hot with a thin batter and melting cheese. I chose the Classic country sampler (choice of crispy homestyle chicken, meatloaf, or chicken and dumplings). The meatloaf arrived lukewarm, so it was reheated and returned to me. It's a soft and thick slice of meat casserole filled with peas and minced bell peppers. The chicken and dumplings had large, thick slices of dumplings (soft) and large strips of pulled chicken (dry exterior but moist interior). The soup part was salty and creamy. The Mashed potatoes are pretty smooth with a few small chunks throughout. The brown gravy is typical. The Mac and cheese is made of small macaroni covered in cheese. A few cheese edges are burnt as if they were baked in a casserole. I did get (1) small and fluffy buttermilk biscuit and (1) slightly crispy exterior corn muffin. The basket comes with a few packs of Dickonson's jams (blackberry, strawberry, grape) and butter. The Coke cake is a rich and slightly warm chocolate cake that comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cake slice looked like a large chunk cut from a cake casserole, and the ice cream was not tightly packed but visually normal size. The interior looks like it did from several years ago. The soap was like water when I arrived, then was out when I was leaving, so I hope the staff members inside washed their hands. The staff members seem fairly friendly. I was a little surprised that you can't use the free shareable reward and order any of the deals (daily or early dinner specials) because Cracker Barrel's not going to let you combine discounts. Staff didn't tell me to walk to the cashier if I wanted to pay in-person and not via the QR code.

I get holiday catering from this place pretty often and we love it! It's so easy to order and it comes beautifully boxed with instructions which make it taste like you cooked it yourself! And it is SO. MUCH. FOOD!! Really generous and a great value. But the best thing is the service!! Super sweet and polite and aiming to please!! If you want to enjoy your holiday with minimal effort and delicious home cooked food this is the way to do it!

Place stays busy, went to the bathroom and they had just called my table. Walk up to the counter to find they had given it away in just 2-3 minutes ?? To a walk in .. regardless we got another table food was good service was on point. Loved the vegetarian sausage option and the house syrup is the best ! Lots of people around but hey it's breakfast time. Waiter refilled out coffee many times . Pretty on point for such a busy place. Had a little shop where you could purchase nick nacks and small random things.

I censored the server to save him from public ridicule. He couldn't help being him.

I was greeted & given a table at 2PM. Ordered a coffee when I sat down, never got it for 15 minutes and 2 servers later & it was cold, old & stale. Besides being empty, the place was bit dirty & messy. Ordered pancakes & sausage with eggs over easy. The sausage looked like they had been on the grill for the entire day. Black, hard & tasteless. The wife ordered a chicken dish which she said was good, so I added a star. (I was going with one) the server added no redeeming value to the experience, no, NONE... not even a little personality. I was going to get a mirror to see if he was breathing. again, I asked for a coffee that cost me 3.19 that I did not drink (BTW I Never send anything back) my NYC upbringing taught me to never send food or drink back. You have one shot at me that's it. Besides this is Cracker Barrel it should be right the first time out; it used to be like that...NO MORE! My food was awful, cold, dry, burned etc. The pancakes were old, taste like they put butter on some old pancakes and put them on a plate, cold, greasy... Terrible! I did not say anything to the server because we were not sure he was alive, no kidding. We ate what we could although in fairness to him he did bring out when we left the corn bread & biscuits, again old & stale. We did leave him 20% out of pity, my wife asked what do you think is wrong with this guy? I said lack of oxygen to the fetus, no joke he looked confused, very sad & depressed. (after all look where he was). Now we're at the cashier who asked "How was everything" my response was do you really want to know? OR are you trying to be congenial? She said did you not have a good meal? After I got done telling her how awful the food was, she apologized and asked "Why we didn't send it back to be replaced" I won't bore you with a redundant response. I thought when she heard the story she would say let me call the manager and have you speak to him, like an efficient run business would do, but no she looked sad as she took our $35.00 for the junk I was served, my wife on the other hand was satisfied with her meal, but I don't believe we will return to this I-45 Location, EVER! In closing I would like to say that the place looked sad, dirty, tired & dated, along with the help who look like the cast from Village of the Damned! My family used to love Cracker Barrel but like most things today it will fade into the past, I don't see this location (Airtex & I-45) staying in business (especially at those prices) too much longer. Cracker Barrel, get with it, I hear bad things about the restaurants, you should try to save the few customers you have left.

On our way to the airport from Magnolia and had to stop here. Great food (omg their fried chicken), our server was the funniest, and it's always so cozy inside. Not to mention as someone from CA the prices here are insanely good.

Worst Cracker Barrel experience ever, we got sat and waited at the table for 5 minutes and no one came to greet us. I tried to call over one of the servers and he made eye contact with me and proceeded to walk away and keep talking to a coworker who was already off( his name is Eric I looked at his name tag and when I asked the manager he told me Dave...). I had to go to the host stand and ask where the waitress is. Some other guy who wasn't the waitress came to help and he said the server would be right with us and still nothing...! We asked them for biscuits and never received them as well. We came around 2:20 pm past the breakfast rush and somehow didn't get good service. The bathroom didn't have any soap in both of the dispensers and there was just a hand sanitizer that was practically empty there in the rr. And one of the employees said just to use that. Sooo umm the employees aren't washing their hands while working? My Mac and cheese also had a lot of burnt black pieces all in it which is not right at all.

We ordered our Thanksgiving meals from Cracker Barrel this year due to several personal reasons. We ordered the Turkey feast (feeds 8-10 people) and the glazed ham. Two sides, rolls, and a pumpkin pie come with the turkey feast. We obviously added an extra pecan and some more sides for good measure. I loved the idea of everything pre cooked and essentially "warming up" everything. For me personally, it was the only convenient way to do Thanksgiving this year. Given the warm up instructions of the main course, sides and rolls, you do need to factor in timing of when food goes in and out. Other than that I was a fan of this. Now how much does something like this cost? Well for us, we paid about $285. Keep in mind that's two turkey breasts , ham, pecan pie , extra sides etc. Peace of advice , listen to the serving size here. We totally ordered way too much food for 4 people. I assumed portions were small and not realistic. I was wrong. Love : the fresh turkey with its natural juice (when it comes out it's pretty close in taste with the real deal), pumpkin pie is just good, Cracker Barrel rolls are too. Sweet potatoes casserole was good. Not so good: cornbread dressing was okay , turkey gravy was okay, and the mashed potato was okay as well. All in all I enjoyed this experience. I ordered online, I paid with a credit card and had a set time and location to get it from. I didn't even have to go in the store as the location had a drive thru in back for any heat n serve items. I can't say I'll always do this route for Thanksgiving BUT this year with family health issues and a 7 month year old. I can't see how I could realistically do everything the more traditional route. Hope it helps! Take care. -Rick

Our server, was very attentive. And got our order just right. The server who brought our food out was also great! Our food was cooked perfectly, and everything tasted great. Our only issue was our table had crumbs left on it and it took awhile to get our order in. Not a big big deal, just explaining our experience. Check out was easy, and all the staff was on point and courteous. I love the store as well. It has all kinds of small gifts. I ended up purchasing a few items for gifts. The store itself gives you the country home feel, it would be hard not to find something of interest in the store.

Our waitress was great it was the Togo food that I had a problem with. I had bought Togo food for my daughter to eat and in the middle of eating it she finds a whole glove in her food making her lose her appetite.

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.

Mr. Picky ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp while I opted for Veal Parmigiana, and we each stole a bite from the other's plate. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
