An hour later they still hadn't bagged it up and we mentioned that we had been waiting an hour. Alyssa assured that I was currently being bagged. Arriving after they closed and departing before they opened, I felt bad that we didn't get a chance to eat at Cracker Barrel. They're big supporters of the RV lifestyle by allowing RVers to use their parking lot with the unsaid request that if you're having a meal in the area, that you have it with them. The Server and Manager were both nice and friendly. I wish the Server visited the table more often, but it was busy, so I understand. When the food got to the table, everything seemed fine because it looked and smelled delicious, but the moment I cut my steak, it was prepared incorrectly, and the pancakes were not hot/warm like I'm used to from Cracker Barrel. The server didn't come back to the table to check on us until after my friend was almost don't eating. I only at my eggs and chose not to wait for them to remake everything again, due to the time. We like this venue when only comfort food will do. But unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. The past two visits were met with unfriendly hostesses at the front desk. I cannot even guess why management wanted customers to be greeted by young men with chewing toothpicks while looking at the seating chart and young ladies who wouldn't smile even though they could. They must think that the general public does not deserve to be greeted kindly any more. While we were seated at a four top as requested and our servers were lovely and efficient, dining choices were limited to what was left in the kitchen because the specials on the menu were exhausted for the day. Meaning, they ran out of the food we had come in to eat on the past two visits at this Cracker Barrel location. This week it was the ribs which were the Saturday special. When we ordered something else, that was gone but the kitchen could provide it is we wanted to wait close to an hour. The staff's response was, "we were just slammed today". The general atmosphere was subdued this evening. We were not having a good time. I personally was not going to risk asking for desert. Everything was delicious, I would only ask that everything came out hot other than that our meals were on point. Thanksgiving meal this year was very disappointing. The sweet potatoes were mashed and runny. The turkey was chopped up small pieces with white gravy over it considering they were very busy. The service was good. This is my second year to go there. Doubt if I will return on Thanksgiving day again unless I learned how to cook the food. read more

Lots of changes to the menu, I guess room had to be made for the alcohol. I don't mind that there is alcohol available I am just surprised that this would be a big enough money maker to dedicate that much menu to. I ordered the chicken tenders and the chipotle bbq sauce and am in love. Chicken was very crispy and the sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Hashbrown casserole was a rock solid choice. Once again Cracker Barrel in Evans fails to satisfy and the couldn't care less. Why do I keep trying them? The food is great, it's the service that disappoints. Once or twice a year I go hoping for a better experience and every time I'm reminded not to go back ever again. When will I learn? On this occasion I sat with a party of five and our waitress was the most inattentive person. She brought our drinks and announced to my sister-in-law that they were out of Diet Coke. She order a different diet drink and we asked for a kids menu. We were told they didn't have any and that the main menu had the kids menu in it. We searched and searched but could not find kids options in the man menu. Since she didn't come back for some time, I asked the hostess and she had the manager photocopy the kids menu for us. When the waitress did come back she took our order and brought the replacement drink. We asked for a basket of biscuits to hold us over while the food was being made since the waitress told us directly that it may take a while. I thought that was off but everywhere is short staffed these days, and I don't usually have good service here so I wasn't surprised. After a long while she was passing through to take orders at another table and we asked about the biscuits. She said she forgot, but gave no apology. Then she didn't go to the kitchen to get some, instead went to two other tables to service them. When the food finally came out we asked again for biscuits and she said oh yeah, I'll get those any thing else? So we asked for napkins as they had never been set at the table and refills on our drinks that had sat so long the ice was gone. She returned with the biscuits and napkins after a while and then we never saw her again until we asked the hostess for Togo boxes and the check. Just another reason I won't go back this year. I can't do it anymore, y'all. I tried to give them chance after chance, and I can't go here anymore. It's not just this location, either. All of them are slow now. It took 20 minutes before my table got their drinks, we never got the bread, and they forgot to tell us what they were out of AS THEY BROUGHT IT THE FOOD.The waitress would rather sit down and engage in a 10 minute conversation with the table behind us rather than serve us and replenish our drinks. The worst time to come here is during lunch, because they clearly don't understand that working people have an hour to eat at the max. They kept forgetting things people are disrespectful and we heard someone out of my race say the N word and they didn't make the food right.

I took my mom out to eat for a nice Sunday meal. What a weird experience to say the least. Their Sunday special was chicken pot pie so my mom and I both say we will have that I ordered mine with a side of hash brown casserole and we saw they had fried onion petals which we have had at a nearby Longhorn Steakhouse and were excited to see it on the menu. The waitress Madeline came out and said at 6pm that there were no more chicken pot pies. Not at 8pm an hour before closing but 3 hours before the meal of the day was not available. I let my mom have the chicken pot pie and ordered a pot roast instead. Our order went in and our food came out without our onion petals being dropped off. My mom's pot pie topping was not cooked and not golden brown like it usually is it was unbaked. My pot roast was good but I did not receive my side of hash brown casserole. I placed an order to go for my dad in the middle of the meal for the dumpling soup and it came out in the smallest container and definitely was NOT a dumpling of any kind. Towards the end of the meal I was still eating and the waitress puts down cups and tells me these are out to go cup's insinuating it's time to go. When I finally brought up the lack of our onion petal appetizer all our waitress said was I'll take that off for you. Not that she was sorry or anything. When I brought my dad his bowl of soup at home all he could say was this was not what I ordered and threw out 90% of the "soup" this was a very "odd" dinner out and not one that sparks an interest to return which was disappointing to say the least because I saw a LOT of great options on the menu my son would like. With SO many places to eat around here it is unfortunate that this lackluster experience was the case. Had a great morning stopping at the allocations Cracker Barrel this establishment is well organized with getting customers in to dine. If you arrive early enough the adverse wait time to be seated is 10-15 minutes. They are enforcing social distancing with all their customers. There is even outdoor dinning if you prefer. The staff immediately sends your server to the table for drink orders, they are a friendly bunch that are all smiles under those masks. Our order came out fast hot and delicious, compliments to the cooks (aka chefs). Your bacon N' Egg Casserole dish was my favorite by far. I've dined at a few Cracker Barrel's in my day. I gave you five stars because your establishment hit all five points. Cleanliness, friendly, fast service, excellent food, speedy check out. We waited 30 minutes to be seated. Totally understood (at the time) because we had a party of eight and it was Veterans Day. Initially no big deal. But once we were seated we realized that the place wasn't all THAT crowded. Like maybe half full. We speculated that it was a lack of personnel. But buckle up. It gets better. It took over an hour to get our food. WELL over an hour. And once our server (Louis, who was actually VERY nice) was finally able to start bringing out our food, he started rattling off the things they were out of that as a result were not on the plates. They were out of gravy for the already dry chicken fried steak. They were out of the cinnamon roll-flavored syrup for the cinnamon roll latte. They were out of chicken sausage. They were out of cheddar cheese for the scrambled eggs with cheese and had to use American. Some of the things that actually were on the plates were barely edible. The fried pickles were cold, greasy and had obviously been fried in old grease. They didn't even look or smell appealing at all. Just looked and smelled like the old grease they had been cooked in. The fried cheese tasted like it had been cooked in fish grease. My friend's burger was cold and dry and the cheese wasn't melted. And the tomatoes on the burger were frozen. FROZEN! Mine and my wife's French Toast were burnt. I could go on... We summoned the manager (who was also nice but whose name escapes me) who tried to start verbally offering solutions which she knew right away that we were not accepting. She then quickly switched course and said our whole table would be comped. The manager advised this wasn't her normal store and that she regularly works at the Aiken, SC location. She said that it quickly dawned on her when she started working at this store that things were done "much differently" than her normal location. That statement was very telling. read more

Boy oh boy where shall I begin. We rolled into the barrel about 11 o'clock and were feigning for some good ole breakfast. We got seated after 30 mins and ordered our diet cokes. Anyways, Remember that scene in Forrest Gump where Forrest drank 15 doctor peppers and told president Kennedy "I gotttaa pee"? That was us bc our food didn't come out for 45 mins but I'd be lying if I said we didn't get 25 refills of Diet Coke . Frozen butter, lukewarm biscuits, and hard flavorless eggs the way I like it. My friend Katheronion had her order wrong and had to send it back. The food was mid the service was slow but Im gonna go back and just order a Diet Coke and play the triangular tee game and sit for a few hours and listen to the sounds of a poorly run establishment. Had a very bad experience today with the ToGo order for my office. Food was not ready, waited nearly an hour for it after arriving, food was cold when I got bad with it like it had been sitting for quit some time. We were missing things like syrup, cornbread, butter, and jelly to go with what we ordered. A co-worker went back for the items and they tried to charge her for cornbread after all the inconvenience of it all. Needless to say we will not be ordering for the office there again. read more

We were seated right away, considering it was a Sunday morning. Our waitress was busy but attentive. Our order was put in and we waited. We ordered coffee and lattes which were brought to the table a few minutes later. The waitress brought the basket of complementary biscuits to our table about 20 minutes after we ordered. I looked around and seen we were not the only ones waiting for our order. We got our order about 70 minutes after it was taken. We ordered the Biscuit Benny, Stuffed Cheesecake Pancake Breakfast, and Grandma's Sampler w/French Toast. Unfortunately, all the meals were cold and definitely had been sitting out for sometime. I mean cold eggs and hash browns just aren't my thing. I was pretty disappointed since this breakfast costed $50 and we waited for our order for over an hour. I let the waitress know about the temperature of our breakfast and she said she would let the manager know. The manager did not come over to speak to us so we just paid and left. They had a free cake slice promotion and tried to give us one slice free and make us pay for the other slice when all they had to do was split the bill so my party could enjoy the promotion. The cashier refused to split the check and I had to ask for two managers to come and assist! Then we were chastised for not knowing it was one slice per ticket - our server could have mentioned it if she wasn't so busy running away every time we tried to get her attention. We ordered our food and when it came out we noticed that several of us had ordered the same lunch, but the portion sizes were all different . Some got more and some revived much less. I got the french toast and it was absolute dynamite. Wonderful french toast, very soft and tasty. I love their thin Cracker Barrel syrup, it has a delicious taste. Their scrambled eggs are fantastic and sausage is really good. I also ordered the mac n' cheese and it was okay(not as good as Wife Saver's mac n' cheese), but other than the mac n' cheese i would say it was outstanding. I love french toast as it is one of my favorite breakfast items and their syrup is probably the best restaurant syrup there is. 5 stars! read more

Danelle needs to be recognized for her outstanding service and calm attitude. She come by three or four times to check on us and to see if we needed anything. She is one of the best waitresses we've had since we've been going to Cracker Barrel. The other branches the waitresses bring you the ticket when you get your food and they don't even come by to see if we need anything. Cracker Barrel offers an assortment of meals from breakfast to old fashion home cooked fixins such as meatloaf and roast beefs. The meals are country sized for a reason and will offer you the opportunity to have a nice leftover meal for later. It is something about those darn pancakes that keep me coming back. I have tried various ways to recreate the Cracker Barrel goodness of their pancakes using their proprietary secret recipe pancake mix via their country store and even though my finished pancakes were delicious they still miss the mark. Today is Administrative Professional Day. Our office of 13 women chose Cracker Barrell in Evans to get lunch. We will NEVER AGAIN order there. We placed an online order and it said it would be ready for pick up at 11:37am. Upon arrival we were told our order was not ready. After waiting nearly and hour, at 12:31pm we learn our order was ready the whole time. Not only was our food cold, we didn't receive croutons for the salads, gravy for the chicken fried chicken, we ordered pancakes and french toast and got no syrup, we got no ketchup, we got no jelly or butter for biscuits/cornbread. However we got no cornbread either. Also, no utensils. We called and Destiny the kitchen manager said we could come get it all because they couldn't bring it. We get up there and they send out a girl. Not a manager and still no cornbread. She said I didn't order cornbread and I told her it was put in some of the orders when it asked biscuit or cornbread. The girl stated that if I want cornbread I'd have to pay for it. I said with OUR INCONVENIENCE we have to pay for something you bring to every table for FREE at cracker barrel? She just said yea you have to pay. I said forget it and we won't ever be back here. Order was over $200.00 and they have now lost our buisness. Some girls threw their food away. Cracker Barrel has always had great food and service. However, this is our first time going since they have drastically changed their menu. There are some of the old favorites still on the menu but a lot of the menu items have been removed. They up charge for apple butter and honey with the biscuits and only had sugar free grape jelly. My husbands order was completely wrong, but he kept it and ate it. My daughters eggs were suppose to be over easy (runny yolk) but were completely fried. Not sure if I'll be going back to Cracker Barrel for a while. read more
