Not the best experience I've had at Cracker Barrel. Our poor server had to hunt to find knives to serve us and then she mentioned that there were no spoons. Oh my goodness. Food was good when it arrived.

Overall: 4.5/5 s! I've gone to cracked barrel many times growing up, and I've always loved it! This time, I ordered Fried Chicken & French Toast (which is my all time favorite, regardless of where I eat brunch), and Cracker Barrel of Dry Ridge did not disappoint! It was honestly the perfect amount of food for my appetite (I have a smaller appetite than most), so it definitely kept me full but not overstuffed! I would say if you're allowed to, definitely order the biscuit gravy on the side because I just dipped my chicken in it and it perfected my breakfast even more. I included the rest of my family's meals in this post, but i unfortunately can't provide much insight for theirs, but they loved their meals as well! The service was FANTASTIC; everyone was super friendly & super nice, which made our visit pleasant.

Fried chicken, meat loaf, and some mashed potatoes.

One of the only full serve restaurants in Dry Ridge and happens to be pretty good. Ate there at 6 PM and had to wait 10 minutes for a table, so we hung out looking at things in their country store. Everyone, including our server Logan, were extremely nice. We tried/shared the 3 item sampler of fried chicken, signature meat loaf, and chicken n dumplings, with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The chicken was very good with a nice crunch to it, the meat loaf was good (but not great, could have used some gravy), and the chicken n dumplings was just OK. 1st time having the chicken n dumplings and not sure what I was expecting in the way of a dumpling, but there was a lack of flavor. The mashed potatoes with white gravy, and the cole slaw were very good. Reasonably priced and the service was great.

Was told 15-20 minutes for a table, and we left after 30 minutes and the store room is empty. Tired of waiting.

I don't write reviews often, but Southern Grace absolutely deserves one…read more The food here is already well known for being amazing, so that part isn't a secret. Everything is seasoned perfectly, cooked right, and served hot. The fried fish was crispy and flavorful, the mac and cheese was rich and comforting, the greens tasted like they came straight out of someone's family kitchen, and the candied yams were sweet and done just right. It's the kind of plate that reminds you why Southern cooking is so special. But what really stood out to me wasn't just the food. It was the customer service. In most places, you either get incredible food with average service, or great service with food that's just okay. Southern Grace somehow manages to deliver both at a very high level. From the moment you walk in, you're treated with genuine kindness and respect. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and you can tell they actually care about the experience they're giving their customers. I have to make a special mention to one of the team members LaDon for his exceptional professionalism. That kind of consistency between food quality and customer service is rare. It makes the entire experience feel personal rather than transactional. If you're looking for authentic Southern food paired with top-tier hospitality, Southern Grace is absolutely worth the visit. Places like this remind you what real customer service is supposed to feel like.

We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. They got the first rounds of drinks taken care of then took food orders. The deviled eggs were popular, plentiful, and delicious. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. Pics from my last visit but still accurate.

The wicker chairs in the section to the left of the bar as you face the bar were unusually deep and low. Over time I think we all adjusted, but sitting in them definitely felt unusual. There are other chairs throughout the restaurant. I recommend finding a table with different chairs. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very efficient. We hadn't checked on the website, but found out Thursday is oyster day, with $1 oysters and fried oysters and $1.50 for Oyster Bienville. The fried oysters were delicious. The raw oysters were good, though I had one that was gritty. We are going again in two weeks and will try the Oyster Bienville along with other assorted oysters. Two of us had the special Pan Seared Sea Bass. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The crisp on the top was delicious and the fish itself was delicate and moist. It did indeed melt in my mouth. The potatoes were very good, though I didn't finish all of them. The greens were good. Mark had a ribeye and is still raving about it today. He ordered the preparation version made with just salt and pepper. He also had a cup of gumbo. He said it had an amazing depth of flavor. We wrapped up with dessert. Three folks had Key Lime Pie. I opted for Karma's Opera Crème Cake. Oh my goodness, it was huge, sweet and delicious. I tried a bit of key lime and it just didn't compare. That said, those who had the Key Lime Pie loved it. Not only would we return, but we have the date already scheduled. I'm looking forward to trying something different.

Not to mention the fact that you HAVE TO HAVE A RESERVATION, was mind boggling for the place. Like the server was very nice and all, that is a plus. Though sadly the food, we had the gumbo and etu fay, it was honestly pretty sad. Like it's up there with the top 5 most sad restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was pretty bland, and lacked any form of spice. Not to mention it was hard to tell what was actually in it, like a lot of the ingredients tasted over cooked. So yeah it's going to be a no for me.

The place is small and had a very weird vibe between fine dining and kitschy. White tablecloths, but then lots of purple and pictures of roosters everywhere (I realize the name, but hmmm). Our server was lovely but would disappear for too long between times when she should have been present. We ordered our drinks at 745pm, and I watched them sit at the end of the bar. Finally, at 805pm, I went to the bartender and said, "those are our drinks that have been sitting there for a while". Our server brought them over like we ordered them 5 minutes prior. But the lovely owner/manager came over and said the "drinks are on me" because we waited so long. We appreciated that! The fried chicken was good, but the breading was very salty. The green beans were almost inedible because they were so salty. The mashed potatoes were average. The biscuits were fantastic. The fried deviled eggs were okay. A regular deviled egg is better. The shrimp and grits had a lot going on. The shrimp was lightly battered and fried (?) and the flavor of the dish was bold. I think sauteed shrimp and a little less gravy would make it perfect.

There are two buildings and you check in at the one building, near a parking lot, but then get on a tour bus and they take you to the other building, which has the gift shop. It seemed a bit counterintuitive to start at the other building, then. Before this, I was super hungry, so we went to their bar area in the gift shop and ordered the charcuterie, which ended up just being like a metal box with some meats, cheeses, and other things, and a bag with a few pretzels in it. Disappointing especially for $33, although it kinda worked out because we only had a half-hour before the tour. I didn't know that Woodford Reserve has actually only been around since 1996 but the campus they purchased has buildings from 1890 and later - I would've loved to have heard more about that history even though it wasn't technically Woodford's. At the end of the tour, they return you to the gift shop and that's where you do the tasting - there is a private tasting room. I should probably note that we did the basic tour - it was $35 and my husband said you could get a similar tasting to the one we got, in the gift shop area, for $30, which made the tour only $5, which isn't bad. I did end up buying a pin, a magnet, and a sampler box of their bourbon treats (chocolates etc. - expensive, at $46 or so, but looks good) and my husband bought a few of their bottles. However, next time we are in Louisville we can probably skip this one, I'm thinking.
