The rain and wind made anything other than the bar area uninhabitable yet we were kicked out after ordering well over $200 worth of food and alcohol due to space at the bar -- no one walked up to the bar the entire time there The big blonde bartender was especially rude and made us pay our tab as the food finally came out - including the "water moccasin" shot that would "warm us up" -- $60 later. We had an incredible experience at Crabby Steve's. Ocean View is great! It was a very welcoming atmosphere, Rhonda and Virginia were so fun and accommodating. The beach can be a party atmosphere, but Crabby Steve's felt like home. The crab artichoke dip was divine and cocktails were spectacular. Can't say enough about the staff and great service! We came hungry and Steve did not disappoint. The menu was awesome. I had the mahi-mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries. My wife had the burger and fries and our 85 year mom had the crab cake sandwich. She loved it. Thanks Steve we are coming back for dinner!!! Came back for dinner the next day and had the cheese burger with top shelf margarita. Perfect combo...I highly recommend the artichoke and crab dip also. Location, location , great service, food, drinks, view, ambience, character and a Hidden gem! This place is tucked in a condo complex called high pointe! Getting here is tough! There is beach access or access through the condo complex for guests only. The restaurant is open to anyone! I recommend public parking near rosemary beach and getting to the public beach access then walking a while to get to this place! I loved it here ! I had a blackened fresh fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw. I had snapper. Good size fish portion with great seasoning! I loved it here! I would come here daily if I could! read more

I really like this place! The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the lack of interesting flavors. They have great quality fish, but they don't do anything special with it. This is an interesting place. The only way you can get there is from the beach. We hiked over from Seacrest Beach. The food and service were fine. We had a cheeseburger, grilled shrimp, and the California chicken sandwich. The restaurant is not that big, and it's the only place on this part of the beach. So, I'd suggest you come early to avoid a wait. The nice thing is that you can grab lunch here and go back to the beach. I would probably come back. read more

Waited 20 minutes at the umbrella while 3 employees looked at me and finally walked up and got my own table. They were apparently closing early but didn't close the umbrella or the gate (open umbrella/gate means open). Ordered the salmon and avocado wrap. Would have been much better with some lettuce tomato and lemon juice. Was just not a great texture without any crunch. Mediocre food and service, I wouldn't go back. read more

We were treated terribly by the man who seated us, who didn't want to give us a table out of the sun despite the many available seats and who happens to be the owner. We found out he is the owner by the girl who came to be our waitress and also claims to be his daughter! ( young brunette girl) As we told her that we might not be staying to dine with them due to the rude man that seated us she responded by saying " I have NO recourse, he is my father". It's very sad to know that a family owned and run business is this poor in their customer service. We really felt so unwelcome from the moment we stepped into this place and I would honestly rather burn my money than give it to Crabby Steve or his equally Crabby Family! Steve is not crabby! And his staff is just as amazing! This is an awesome location, food, service and all you can ask for. We loved to walk in and be welcomed and treated as family, have the owner greet us and play with our kids. We had crab cake sandwich (5 stars for sure) with potato salad (gotta try it). We've been coming here for years, its one of our favorite casual places with awesome food...as well as amazing views. Unless you are staying at Rosemary or Seacrest, you really can't get here easily, the only accesses from the beach which has no public access. But honestly, its keeps the crowds down so we can't complain. The staff is no-nonsense, if you need your hand held, this isn't the place for you. Prices are reasonable for fresh fish sammie + side ($25 ish) and drinks are cold. Even our kids love it. Get the tuna dip appetizer and any of the fish sandwiches or wraps. The rum runner is our fave drink. read more

My review is really more of a word of warning for those attempting to eat at Crabby Steve's. I know it comes up a lot on seafood restaurants to hit while in the Seacrest/Rosemary Beach area, but it's not worth the hassle of getting to it. It's primarily a restaurant for the (gated) community that surrounds it; and if you're not staying there, good luck. You can access it from the beach though, so if you happen to have camped out in the general vicinity for the day, by all means go for it. But if you're simply trying to drive there, it's not really feasible. The guard at the gate won't let you in unless you're staying there, so don't bother with that. You have to drive down a ways and hope to score a spot in the relatively small parking lot down the road (about a quarter mile). From there you have to trek out onto the beach and backtrack in hopes of finding the restaurant. I've eaten at a lot of good seafood restaurants in my life, and maybe two of them would be worth this kind of trouble. Crabby Steve's is not one of them. read more

Review for non seafood. I get it, why go to a seafood joint if you aren't going to order seafood but sometimes you are with a group and not with the majority. I ordered the jerk chicken with fries. The chicken was pulled and pretty juicy, I was expecting a chicken breast for some reason and more of a dry rub experience. The regular fries were bad. Clearly frozen thick cut tasteless fries. We sat boozing for a while till our rental opened. The rose I was drinking was nice but it was $8 a pop without many other cheaper options. It's nice to eat al fresco on the beach and the service was fine, but if you are like me and don't want seafood, I'd pass. The rest of my party liked their seafood plates enough to go back for lunch another day! read more

Food is good but I literally ordered To-Go and tipped 5-10% and one of the female the bartenders had the AUDACITY to tell me it "wasn't enough and that [bartenders] work for tips". No joke. Like I'm sorry, standard tipping for a to-go meal is, and has always been, 5-10% of the bill. She may have gotten more... I was planning on going later and getting a few drinks from the bar but now I'll pass thanks to her audacious comments and lack of general respect for paying customers. If this establishment want guests and patrons to return, maybe check your employees attitude. Just completely rude and uncalled for entirely. Awesome! Only thing is it should be called crabby parking lot lady. Steve was not very crabby at all, very attentive to all the guests and even did a fun Shirley temple thing w the kids. Great location, climb up the stairs from the beach to get here, only downside is getting in can be tricky so plan ahead (there may be a better way but we didn't know it). We got a great high top table with perfect sunset view. Kids loved their chicken tenders and the fries were good. Had the blackened salmon wrap for $16, delicious; and my wife liked her mahi sandwich for $15.50. The mojito and Moscow mule were refreshing, standard bar pricing for mixed drinks about $10-12. Quality of food was better than other spots in rosemary where they charge twice the price without actually having any view. As above, only negative to the experience was trying to leave. We walked through the attached property's parking lot thinking that was how to leave, only to not be let out onto 30a by the parking attendant who said my wife, our 2 young children, and another separate family who happened to be behind us were "trespassing on private property" and to "go back to where we came from". So her solution was instead of letting us leave, to have us remain on the property and wander around in the dark. We finally walked all the way back and down to the beach to get to the rosemary beach exit from the beach itself to make it home in the dark. Definitely need a better way to get into and out of this place, esp if the staff in the area are so rude and condescending. I can imagine a much tipsier crew than us not taking the attendants bizarrely rude behavior very well. Also as a heads up we were planning to come back the next day but they are closed on Mondays. Bummer for us but next time we come to the area we will be back for sure. read more

Customer service at its worst. This place started off on a sour foot when we greeted the hostess. Snarky attitude, jackhole manager "crabby Steve" missed out on a huge tip.
