As good as it gets! After getting a couple of quotes, we chose Custom Pavers & Design because the bids were about the same but they seemed more professional in their approach. We are not disappointed in choosing them. They did our driveway, path down to the house, 8 stairs and a patio in front of our house. All are done extremely well. The installers are perfectionists and it shows in their work. Highly recommend them. read more

Pablo and his team did a fantastic job on my retaining wall. They were prompt and great at communicating the process. The job was completed on time and on budget. My neighbors have all admired the design and its implementation. read more

I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to warn others about this company. I had a terrible experience working with Custom Pavers. From start to finish it was frustrating and stressful. Their quality of their work is horrible. After their first incompetent team laid the pavers, they were uneven and misaligned. They were then relaid by another team, and while better, they are still not great. The assigned project manager Sebastian, was mostly unavailable, did not respond to texts, would fail to show up when we had arranged to meet or he would show up extremely late. As compensation for all the difficulties with our paver install, Custom Pavers offered to seal our patio for free. Against my better judgment, I agreed to have them do so. They spent about 10 minutes pressure washing the patio in preparation for the sealer, and it was clearly insufficient. They then applied some type of chemical to remove a stain and it left a huge discoloration (much worse than the original stain) that looks like spilled white paint. At that point, I fired them and decided to cut my losses before they made matters any worse. I am now left with a substandard project that will need to be repaired/redone. Definitely do not hire this company. read more

Our new retaining wall and steps are gorgeous! I highly recommend Customer Pavers & Design for any project, large or small. My contact with Chad to discuss the design and contract was very enjoyable. Who can say that about a sales call? We came up with a design to replace our failing retaining wall with a wall and 3 locations for steps that we were very excited about. While the project manager for our project was unexpectedly out of the office during most of our project, the owners Naz and Ben stepped in to ensure things went smoothly. I was especially impressed with Naz's communications. She was extremely responsive, listened well, and communicated simply and clearly. The project started later than expected and took longer than expected, but that can happen with construction projects. Carlos, who did all the work on the project by himself, was amazing. We appreciated his architectural approach, and the integrity in which he worked. It was unfortunate that 3 aspects of the original design had to be changed due to topography, but Carlos was able to make things work. Ben stepped in a couple of times around design and materials as well. We are thrilled with the new wall, and the access the new stairs gives us to the back garden. read more

This is a solid company that does excellent work. I had very good communication throughout the three week paving project. It was a tough demo and paving job of about 600 sq feet. I have never seen guys work so hard. The price charged was quite reasonable given the extent of the work. I definitely think it increased the value of my property in multiples of the project price. And, I now love to look out my kitchen window and admire my yard's beautiful paving work. read more

Custom Pavers has done shoddy work on our project, including damaging our sprinklers (and then asking if we want to pay some guy they know to fix it!). We're really disappointed they don't take accountability, especially since there have been delays and they won't tell us why. Stay away. read more

We were just delighted by the quality and look of the stone walkway and new retaining wall that Custom Pavers installed in our backyard. The price was competitive and the quality of craftsmanship was outstanding; the crew was friendly, respectful of the property, and did an amazing job cleaning up after the work was done. I can't say enough good things about the whole experience....a sincere pleasure from start to finish! read more

Custom Pavers & Design did our back patio (1,020 sq ft) in Fall 2021, and our driveway and walkways (1,160 sq ft) in Spring 2022. Their price was very competitive. Their proposals were very complete and fully documented, and they explained their proposals very well. The quality of their work and their workmanship has been truly outstanding. The workers were very experienced, highly skilled, very courteous, and very well supervised. The company management is extremely responsive and very customer focused. We cannot praise the management enough for their sensitivity to our concerns; they took care of every issue which was brought up by us. We are absolutely delighted with their work. Passersby have been stopping to admire their work and to take photographs. We recommended Custom Pavers & Design to our friends, many of who had Custom Pavers & Design take care of their paving projects, and all of them have been similarly delighted with their work. We very strongly recommend Custom Pavers & Design without any reservation for all pavers and hardscape work. read more

We've had a really great experience putting together a beautiful paver patio and side path to our backyard. Michael was a great first point of contact walking us through the entire process, contributing ideas, and giving us a thorough and timely quote. Once we accepted the contract, the entire team moved quickly and finished the entire job exactly to what we had aligned on within two weeks. Even afterwards when we had some small hiccups with our sprinkler system, they immediately solved the issue within 48 hours. I would definitely go with Custom Pavers again for any project, small or large. read more

After getting a few bids for having our backyard concrete/brick replaced with concrete pavers, we went with Custom Pavers & Design. They did a great job on everything, getting the work done quickly and at a fair price. The new back patio looks fantastic and drains much better than our old patio. We actually liked it so much we immediately scheduled a second job to install a retaining wall in our front yard. Again, good quick work here, and within a week I got an email from a neighbor asking who my contractor was - can't beat pleasing the neighbors! read more

I hired Custom Pavers to install a large brick patio and they did a fantastic job. It was a huge project but they finished it on time and at a reasonable price, and their team was professional and courteous. The patio looks so good that I hired them again to re-do my front walkway with matching bricks, it looks so much better now! Will absolutely hire them again for future projects. read more

Custom Pavers and Design has done two projects for us in the last 5 years. Both teams did an excellent job. The first project was a two level patio built on a steep slope. The second project was a continuation of the first involving retaining walls, walkways and steps. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommended! read more

We are very satisfied with the driveway and walkway pavement works that Custom Pavers and Design did for us. The process was smooth and completed on date as promised. Very high quality and professional. Their bid was the highest but it was worth every penny of it. Thanks to Mike, Sebastian, Fernando, Aneiton, and Elias. You are a great group *****. read more

I've used custom pavers for 2 separate backyard projects and am very happy with their work. The owners were very professional and responsive throughout the project. They did everything in their power to make sure our projects were completed to our satisfaction. Several of our neighbors complemented the project and noted that the completed projects looked better than the work they had done in their own yard. Highly recommended! read more

After consulting with several local paving companies, we finally found Custom Pavers & Design. Our estimator Steele scheduled us in short time, and he was thorough. The estimate was surprisingly reasonable. From then on, all staff we worked with were helpful, professional, and left us beautiful work in our backyard. Kudos to Naz, Steele, Jaclyn, Silvio, Octavio, Antenon, and Esti! read more

From beginning to end I was very happy with the team at Custom Pavers & Design. We had them do a retaining wall/gardening spot in our back yard and it turned out great! Steele did a great job of helping us determine what we needed and gave us good insights that helped inform our decision making process. The workings created a great finished product and cleaned up before they left (I was worried I'd be left with random materials, but it was left very clear). The craftmanship was very solid and looks very professional. We had a slight misunderstanding that was more of a miscommunication than anything and it was resolved quickly and simply - Naz was a pleasure to work with, so from end to end it was a great experience. We would recommend using them and plan to do so again! read more

Stop searching, for real. Custom Pavers is ***THE BEST***. Their work is INCREDIBLE, their staff is INCREDIBLE and I get non-stop high fives about how amazing the new paver driveway is. These guys slay hard. I wish I had more driveways to pave just so I can hire them again. read more

Custom Pavers replaced our two concrete patios and wooden deck with two beautiful paver patios. Also they replaced our failing railroad tie retaining wall with a concrete block retaining wall. The estimator, Steele, created a clear detail estimate where the projected price was the final price. The hard working, experienced work crew consisted of Tico and his two sons. At the start of the project, the project manager, had a walk through with myself and Tico where we discussed the scope of the work. Following the demo, the project manager had another walk through where we marked off the outline of the patios to be constructed. During the project, the project manager was not present most of the time. I thought this might be a problem, however with Tico being very experienced, he did not require supervision. The owner, Ben, stopped by several times to inspect the progress and at the end to verify that we were happy with the results. His wife Naz, was also good at answering our questions and passing on our concerns. Overall, we are very pleased with the results...our patios look great! read more

We had Custom Pavers & Design replace the pavers along the side and back of our house. Naomi and Jose did a great job installing the new pavers. They were communicative and dependable. The company was responsive and great to work with. read more

Terrible Contractor, taking them to court a second time. In 2016 I entrusted Custom Pavers & Design with a 20K+ project at my residence. The execution of that project was sheer misery from the beginning, so much so that midway throughout the project I decided to fire Custom Pavers & Design. The owner persuaded me to give him another chance to finish the work. Out of the goodness of my heart I did give him another chance, a decision I regret every day. In 2017, after many fruitless attempts to get Custom Pavers & Design to stand by their work I had no other choice but to turn to the court of law. I sued Custom Pavers & Design and won the case. The nasty behavior of this contractor in the court of law didn't help their defense at all. The court awarded me a full judgement against this contractor. Contentious to the end, this contractor satisfied the judgement only after his license was temporarily suspended by WA State Department of Labor and Industry. Needless to say, that judgement was in relation to a specific complaint and as such has no bearing on any future claims that may arise under the 25-year warranty issued by the contractor. It goes without saying, that I would love nothing more than not to have any warranty issues with this contractor but unfortunately it is not the case. Presently I am faced with several of them, including one of the anchoring concrete edges that has seriously caved in and there is now a loose bullnose paver in the middle of a step in a high foot traffic area, which is frequently used by delivery drivers. These issues and their repair are clearly identified as covered by the warranty issued to me by Custom Pavers & Design. And so I contacted this contractor to report these issues, noting that the loose bullnose paver, located in a high foot traffic area, was a hazard and could become a liability for me if not promptly repaired. Not hearing back from Custom Pavers & Design, I contacted them again, and again and again. All of my calls and emails were ignored. This is unconscionable. As I have no other recourse, I will be taking this contractor to court again. This time, however, I will also be taking this matter to the Attorney General of WA State since I firmly believe that Custom Pavers & Design, while issuing a warranty, had no intention whatsoever of ever honoring it. There are 20 more years left under this warranty and I am fully prepared to hold this contractor accountable each and every time I have to. read more

I had CP&D demo my old patio and install a nicer and much larger paver patio last year. Steele made some great suggestions on which pavers to use and the whole quote and planning process went smooth. There were some issues with the build and Naz and Jaclyn were very responsive to my concerns and made things right. I'm very happy with how things turned out and am in the process of working with them again. read more

I remodeled a lot this year: 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms, a full garage, new roof, electrical panels, you name it! The BEST of the bunch was Custom Pavers & Design. As a woman managing this alone and someone who was gaining experience, I appreciated the respect, excellent communication, design assistance and advice, ensuring product choices in person, supervision, problem solving that inevitably happens during execution, and follow-up when I had questions. Michael Barbieri, my contact, really made all the difference. He invited me to hand pick the stones at the yard with his help and I appreciated this level of service. He held my hands when I needed it, had great insight into the situation, was easy to reach and respond, and I absolutely trusted him and therefore the company. The end product is very professional looking and worth every penny. In fact, the fancy steps may look better than the whole house but I'm proud of it! Before this, I hired a more general landscaper to do a simple paver job and another one to pour some concrete that ended up badly and unwalkable. Those experiences were a costly waste of time that had to be re-done. I'm so glad to have found Michael and Custom Pavers on Yelp and these pavers will probably last the lifetime of the house as long as I have it! The 5 stars is real! read more

Met with Chad at home show yesterday. After talking with him I decided I'm going to build my new driveway and backyard patio with custom pavers. It's such a large job and nobody that I had talked with was able to meet my expectations as to what I wanted. He is a good listener, professional and very experienced in the field. He gave me various options and suggestions on improving my backyard landscape and their viabilities. I'm going to spend about $135K on my project so I want to feel safe and trust who I'm going to go with. They will be building my dream project in 2 months (I'm so excited). Again, I would highly recommend Chad for making me feel so comfortable and making this difficult decision an easy one to make. :) read more

Custom Pavers & Design finished a large project for one of our neighbors last year. The crew seemed friendly and worked hard. Our neighbor was extremely happy with their work. So we decided to ask them for a retaining wall quote. Not cheap, but seemed reasonable for the amount of work to be done. It was tough to fit into their busy schedule, but once scheduled they were on-time, worked long days, and were amazingly meticulous both in prep and in placing the blocks and backfill. We'll certainly use them again if needed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

You need look no further than this company -- nor should you. My review is consistent with the others. The owners are just good, honest people and expert at what they do. They're easy to talk with/understand and very professional while being friendly in the process. Not common these days! Everything was done as promised and according to the timeline. The result exceeded expectations beyond what I thought was possible. Our project added curb appeal, more usable space and seems like it will last forever. We're as pleased as any customer could be! This Spring (2016), we contracted with Custom Pavers & Design, LLC, to work with us to design and build a small patio (112 sq ft) in our front yard. We drew up a sketch of what we wanted it to look like, and Ben Paul, the owner, worked closely with us on the implementation details. It wasn't just a simple job because the patio had to be installed on a slight slope. Now that the project is done, it came out exactly as we designed it and we couldn't be more thrilled. Ben is a great listener. He heard what we wanted, added ideas of his own and made it happen. His bid was very competitive and within the budget we had set. He got the job because of who he is and how much he cares to make his customers happy. In one day, his team ripped out our lawn, built the retaining wall that would make the patio level, leveled the soil, poured in the crushed gravel, set the concrete pavers, added sand between the pavers, and washed down the patio. A few days later, Ben came by and sealed the stones. Bottom line, we could not have been more pleased with Ben and his team, and have no problem recommending him to others (which we already have done). read more

We hired Custom Pavers and Design to install pavers at our front porch area and on the side yard. We could not be more pleased with how the projects turned out! Update: After 11 months, our backyard settled and the back edge didn't settle well. Since Custom Pavers warranty their work, we contacted Ben and Naz, to let them know what's going on.
