This review is long overdue. And this is for Angelina. Angelina has been by go-to for haircuts and color for many years. I have explored other hair salons (upscale) in Walnut Creek, Marin county, and San Francisco, as just like for many, I am very particular and I don't mind paying a high cost as long as the service equates to the high cost. I always find myself booking an appointment with Angelina after I have spent some time with other hair salons because she has this unique ability to put my vision into reality. She listens to what I want while she is also honest with what may or may not be the outcome. Importantly, she makes sure you are happy with the end result. And if for any reason you are not happy, she is more than willing to fix the problem without an extra charge! I have also recommended my family and friends to Angelina and they have been so happy that they have kept her as well. Although she may not serve a glass of wine or champagne (like the other upscale hair salons do) she makes every penny spent worthwhile. I live a very busy life and work in healthcare --crazy hours. I walked-in one afternoon around 2pm on a Wednesday and I told her what I wanted. She told me it would take several hours and it would require me to stay very late if I was available and willing, provided I did not make an appointment to accommodate my time. She went above and beyond working her magic on my hair in-between her other customers. She has taken her time --no rush or short cuts. We stayed until around 10:30pm. The end result was more than I expected! She even told me to look at my hair very closely the next day under daylight. And if I'm unhappy with it, to return the following day. But I'm more than happy with the result. She has also mentioned that she is open Tuesday - Saturday from morning until very late at night to accommodate busy customers like myself. It use to be friendly and making sure customers are satisfied. Yesterday i dis get haircut that i thought i will be satisfied, but I guess im not! The reason why is trimming my hair only in the back and thats it! No hair wash no styles no iron no nothing! Its it was before.$ 25.00 for trimming tha back hair. And the facial not complete! My husband gets his haircut here, I prefer going to nicer salons for color and cut. I do like how they cut my husband hair though, great prices and a nice gentlemen always does a okay job. There are usually multiple people working and the shop does seem a little on the dirty side considering everytime i have been herez everyone is sitting around on there cellphones. If things were a little cleaner and the staff didn't slowly walk over to greet you, phone in hand, starting at the screen like a high schooler then I would even think about letting them touch my hair and give a better rating if my experience as a client was positive. One last thing that gets to me, and why I choose higher class salons in Napa is the English! I will only come here for eyebrow/lip/chin waxing. I do have my favorite waxer but I cant remember her name. She is very nice and good! Several years ago, I came here to get my hair colored and I was charged 2 arms & 2 legs. I was unhappy to say the least. I also came in another time for a facial and it seemed to take forever since they (owner & other stylists) kept talking to each other and I was left in the waxing room longer than necessary (as if I was purposely forgotten). There are definitely better places to get your haircut; hair colored; and facials. Their waxing prices are comparable to other salons. read more

So.. i use to go to this place for years. Had good service before but now when you walk in Angelina is just on her phone and doesn't really greet you how you should a customer. So i showed her how i wanted my hair length to be but she cuts way shorter than i asked. I asked for right above my boobs length and now my hair is short near my jawline. I mean... it doesn't look bad but i would have preferred it to be a little longer and for her to just followed simple directions. I will from now on be going to Kathy at Hot Cuts In American Canyon. 2 stars cause Im nice and it was my fault to even go there....soooo, This salon has went downhill with customer satisfaction and respect of the customers time. The workers Amy & Kristie were awesome, but are no longer there and opened a salon in Fremont. So now the owner is the main person to go to. She's ok, but not as good as her sisters. The owner will be on her phone most of the time even though there are many people waiting. She over charges for her services. The color I picked out wasn't what I got. Very dissatisfied. After waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time, it still took 3.5 hours for a dye appointment!!!! And I didn't have time for a trim because she was too busy on her phone. Lesson learned after this visit. The good Yelp views are probably when the sisters were there. Unhappy customer and will seek salon services elsewhere. Any suggestions??? read more

It has always been hard for me to find a good hairstylist because I am so picky. Usually you end up being someone's guinea pig and looking like a ret arded kid that found a pair of scissors for a couple of weeks afterwards. I have been going to CP Hair for about 2-1/2 years now and I have NEVER gotten a bad haircut there. The beautiful Amy cuts my hair so well that I always get compliments on my hair. I won't go anywhere else. I had gone to Texas for 4 months and refused to let anyone else touch my hair until I got back to California. Great service and great prices. Been getting my hair cut here at CP Hair for almost 18 years now and everyone here has been great! I first met the owner Angelina. She was very welcoming and friendly. Also I live down the street about a mile away which makes this location very ideal and convenient. As far as the quality of the hair stylist, I have had no complaints whatsoever. Appointments are not needed, however, on the weekends its not always guaranteed a walk-in. So, you might have to come early or come on the weekdays when its not so busy. One of my favorite hair stylists is Amy. She does a wonderful job in cutting and styling my hair to how I like it. The best thing is they remember your style the next time they see you. How cool is that? Anyways, this place is like Family, since I've been coming here a very long time. I highly recommend this place. read more

I had a horrible experience yesterday while getting my hair colored. My hair was done by the owner ( asian lady with the long hair) I had bleach blonde hair with about 2 inches of dark brown roots. I wanted to go a rich brown for the fall & I showed the lady the picture. She said she could do it. My hair turned out green, yes GREEN! I was so shocked after my hair was rinsed! I told the person drying my hair it was green & he agreed. I was mortified. The lady said it was an "ash" color and people pay a lot of money for that. Umm no, that's not what I requested. My roots were brown & all the parts that were before blonde were now a dark almost seaweed green. I left the salon in tears. When I got home & saw my hair in different lights, I was so upset. I came back this morning & asked for a refund or atleast partial refund & she denied it. She said she could fix it but it'll cost more. She's the one who messed up in the first place, I shouldn't have to pay to get it fixed. She even denied that my hair was green. I'm not blind. So I left, extremely mad. I called up another salon & explained my situation about my green hair & she said that since my hair was previously blonde, they should have put a filler first before coloring it & it would not have turned green. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I paid for. Not only was she on the phone the entire time she washed out my hair, when I came back, she had me talk to her in front of another customer whom she was doing hair. She couldn't even step aside. I felt bad for the person who had to hear me complain about how awful my hair turned out as she was also getting her hair colored. Bad business & very unprofessional. read more

Came in today with my dad because he needed a hair cut and the Asian lady with the long hair usually does a great job. My review is for the fact that we were turned away today when we got to the place and was told to either come back tomorrow or later that day. We were not happy because there was only the one Asian lady working there and two ladies were already in the middle of their coloring hair process. The Asian lady proceeded to say that she was really busy today and she had another appointment coming in. In a business, you should have more staff who can accomodate customers. We offered to wait, but she said that it could take an hour or longer she wasn't sure. My dad needed a hair cut and she could've just cut his hair, but she just kept saying come back later or go their tomorrow. Who wants to come back again when we were ready at that time? DUH?
