As a new resident to Boone, I discovered this delicious little restaurant. From the outside it looks like nothing, but it's truly a gem. This is a little restaurant as many are in Boone, so on a weekend plan to wait a little. I ordered their Vegan burrito ( i am not vegan) and it was delicious! They make their own salsas and everything is fresh non frozen ingredients. Accidentally some how a piece of chicken slipped into my burrito and the waitress took it entirely off the bill. All their vegetarian and vegan items are made in a separate kitchen and are not mixed. On a nice warm day, the outdoor seating is wonderful If you have a chance to make your way to Coyote Kitchen, you will not regret it. read more

What it lacks in exterior charm it makes up with the flavor of every bite! It you are tired of bland food and boring combinations eat a boat! This place was full at 2:00 pm on the Friday before Christmas. It was worth the 10 minute wait to get a table. The Super Sampler chips and salsas was awesome (good for 3 or 4 people)! I also loved the Baja Boat. I shared this with a friend. I wish I had seen an avacado somewhere on the menu but the food is tasty even without guac. I absolutely love Coyote Kitchen. It's nice knowing I don't have hormones in the meat I'm eating and the vegetables are fresh. They are incredibly accommodating to special dietary needs and even offer a wonderful selection of gluten-free and dairy-free desserts. The waiter said that two women had complained about the strawberry cake that my friend and I -adored- . Gluten-free tastes different than flour-based desserts. THEY TASTES AND ARE TEXTURED DIFFERENTLY WHERE EVER YOU GET THEM. The sweet potato fries are a major reason I go there. Those with the chipotle ranch are a divine combination. The staff is great and offer wonderful suggestions! The patio is a nice place to sit when it isn't too cold or too hot. The only time I don't have a perfect experience here is when it's incredibly busy and the dining room is packed. I try and avoid going to any restaurant when it's horribly busy though. read more

My sister is GF & there were many options for her to choose. The occupancy is small so I imagine there might be a wait on the weekends. Skip the "C" chain across the street and eat here! Ate lunch here with the family. Small place in a strip mall, but the food is really good and not at all the cookie cutter "Mexican" (I'd probably call it more "southwest" than real Mexican) you get at most other places. They have vegetarian and vegan options including dessert. My son liked the fish and chips, fries were good, southwestern bowls were really good. Had the Sedona and Mesa Verde and both were good. Always recommend this to my friends visiting. Such a unique and fun version of "mexican" but it's not. We stopped by this place because of the high reviews. This place was way expensive for what you got. We ordered 2 boats, which were basically burrito bowls with cheese melted over top. I had to pay extra to substitute spinach for pineapple. Also, for a sit down Mexican place, you had to pay extra for the chips (which were thick and stale) and salsa. The salsa was mediocre at best. Huge selection of healthy eats, of the Caribbean/Mexican variety. We've been here twice now and always love to pick up one of the bowls or salads with the homemade dressings and salsas. Strong red pepper flavor to pico and dishes. They have housemade hot sauces that change by the week; my husband noted that his "100 hand slap" hot sauce paired with the perfectly cooked shrimp tacos was beyond delicious. My family and I came to Boone for a mini vacation and at here recently. We all loved the attitude, atmoshpere and food so much. It was authentic, yet original and delicious. I highly reccomend going! This place quickly became our favorite in Boone. It is surrounded by a sea of generica- Applebee's type chain foods stops you find everywhere. We try to avoid these places as they give back little to the local community and generaly have mediocre food. Coyote Kitchen was the perfect alternative, serving a hormone and antibiotic free Eco friendly menu.. Small place filled with local art, Wonderful selection of microbrews (even micro brewed rootbeer) and the food was excellent. Really, I mean EXCELLENT. Oh man, this food was unexpectedly outstanding! I'm always a tad weary when my husband selects a hole-in-the-wall type place, but Coyote Kitchen erased all my concerns. The menu highlights how they cater to various food restrictions. As someone who prefers to eat Gluten Free, I really appreciated the information. We got two appetizers which was probably two too many since we were full by the time our food came. However, we didn't want to miss the different salsas and amazing fries. My husband and I both ordered bowls which were unique and a wonderful blend of flavors. The kids enjoyed their meals and we all left really happy (and WAY too full!) P.S. the service was outstanding!
