When you're talking you'll get a lot of static and you'll have to repeat yourself over again. Att has lower price on phone & WiFi. When you call cox you're lucky if anyone answers. Installers charge you $75 bucks for a service visit to screw existinging cable cord into phone modem, then they steal the customer owned cables and accessories. Installer wandered around my house thinking he was there to install cable boxes, but I've had the cable boxes in my house for two years. Don't really know why he wanted to wander away from the phone installation area unless he was looking for something else to steal. read more

We have had Cox WiFi for the past two years, and it is absolutely awful. We have WiFi outages multiple times a day, I get disconnected during online exams as well as on important conference calls while working during the day. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

Worst customer service ever! Internet and cable have been been affected by an "outage" foe over a week. Internet has been very spotty. Their contour box quits working with this type of outage, but their cheap little boxes continue to work, but only with basic service. Pay way too much for this type of service. Our cable box started having issues with reception and interference and we were told (wrongly, as we later learned) that we had to take the box to the Cox store and exchange it. We got there and waited 45 minutes. When we finally got to a counter, the lady working there didn't know what she was doing. It took another 45 minutes to get the box and we later found out, when we got two bills, that she had created a whole new account for us with the new box, and we were being double billed. On top of that, it was the wrong kind of box and wouldn't work on our set. (This was back in October and like the other reviewer says, there were only two people and the one lady couldn't work alone.) So we took the box back and got a guy who was exasperated with the errors but had to call some corporate number to get everything straightened out, which took over an hour. We got a replacement box but it had even worse reception than the first one we turned in, and after several calls and visits to the store, we realized they weren't really supporting the boxes anymore because they wanted people to pay for an HD upgrade instead. We canceled service which, of course, meant going back to the store and returning the box. Somehow, whoever it was who helped us that day re-activated the extra account we were wrongly signed up for way back when this all started, and it took three months to get THAT straightened out. Oh, and when I worked for an insurance company, literally every customer we had who had once been or still was a Cox consumer had a ding on their credit report from Cox. Check your credit reports. I had to correct mine after this fiasco with the boxes happened because they had me reported as having never turned in that "second" box, even though there was no second box. read more

I have received the worst customer service of my life from this store. Over the past 2 years there have been many errors with my service and my bill, and when I call with complaints they say they have no history of previous changes. The final straw was when I called today about incorrect charges on my bill. I was transferred to someone else in the store who told me it was my fault for only paying the amount shown online because it was apparently incorrect. I enroll in paperless billing so this is the only bill I receive. Apparently my online charges were incorrect, and I was told, and I quote, I "should have known the charges were incorrect". The employee was defensive, rude, and difficult. I canceled my service and filed a complaint with corporate. read more

They gave me a promotion for some new TV box that allows you to stream from Netflix without eating up your data limit. I don't even watch TV I just did that deal because it was cheaper. Now I need to cancel and they want to charge me $90 cancellation fee. There was a 2 year contract included in that deal that they did not tell me about. All they said was that it was a promotion to get that new TV box product circulating. Money is tight, especially with this nonsense pandemic crap and now they want to screw me out of $90. What an absolutely trash company. If there's other options around Manhattan, look into those options. read more

Nothing has changed but for some reason have been charged $100 extra every month for "data usage". I had cox's for three years. Never had any issues with them until I canceled my plan because I was moving to a different state. The day I canceled, I went into the store and turned in ALL of my equipment (I had two boxes and a Wifi modem, along with my remotes and cable cords). They told me I didn't have any leftover balances to pay and that I actually had a credit on my account. Three weeks later I got a bill for $57 dollars saying I didn't turn in one of my boxes. I only had two TV's in my house but they said that I had three boxes. I called customer service and they told me I had to pay the remaining amount..... FOR WHAT?! WHY WOULD I WANT TO KEEP A CABLE BOX THAT I CANT EVEN USE?!?! I just had to pay $57 for something I didn't even have! I feel like because I was such a loyal customer to them, never had a late payment they should of worked with me a little bit. could not get ruffly 15 tv channels on the cox mini box. I did a self-test and a channel scan, it came up with a M.5.1.10 and a M.3.1.4 code that I had to give the technician when I called. After about 30 minutes on the phone talking to them all they could say was to take it in and get a different one. The second box is having the same problem, still can't get the channels I watch the most, TNT, Nick, ESPN, ESPN2, Life, Comedy central, WIBW, KSN, those are just a few of the 15 channels. Last night I spent another 20 minutes on the phone and the rep finally told me that there are other people in my area that are having the same problems. I asked if she meant my neighborhood or part of town, she said Manhattan Kansas is having the problem. DO NOT GET THE MINI BOX FROM COX COMMUNICATIONS. if you need more than one tv connected go with DISH! read more

Extremely disappointing. There are only 2 cable providers in town and last year we had issues with AT&T so chose to go through Cox. My boyfriend put his cable on vacation leave when he left for a deployment and was told he could restart it when he returned. When he got back they cancelled his entire account and said he was no longer a returning customer. Ok fine. Then they finally set up an install for a week later (Friday night 5-7pm). He waited around the entire time after getting email confirmation they would be there. At 7 no one had showed up. He called the store but they were closed. Eventually connected to the corporate office and they said he wasn't confirmed for that day so they would have to reschedule for the following saturday, a WEEK later. I'm sorry but that is no way to treat your customers, especially veterans. The only apology he received was a refund of the installation fee. Took over 2 weeks to get cable & internet when supposedly he was an existing customer. Would not recommend their services to anyone. read more

Lacks customer service on the phone. They will offer you deals, and then raise your bill without warning you. (Sort of how drug dealers work..get you hooked and then get your money.) So I tried to downgrade to affordable service. They make it very hard to downgrade or disconnect. To make a long story short I was transferred a lot and on hold for over ten minutes three times. When I finally got through I said I did not want to be transferred or on hold anymore. I asked for a ticket number for this call and she wouldn't give it to me. She said they have my calls recorded. I told her to look up my record then and she would know how much troubles I had getting through today. I asked her to disconnect me. When the lady asked why, I said I was moving. It seemed the best way at this point. I don't like how Cox does business. And I don't like Cox's customer service. I was taught in business you should have a leaving customer happy so they will want to come back. I won't be going back to Cox. read more
