Every 1 to two years, Cox jacks up the cost of Internet and tv service. Then you have to call their "loyalty" department to try to negotiate a new rate even close to your previous one. They tell you how much they appreciate your 30 plus years as a customer and promise reductions here and there on different packages, after which they give you a new price, but that guarantee of no increases during the promo period is a lie. Within 1 year of my 2yr promo, my bill jumped twice, from $305 to $335, to $356. Then when you make an inquiry, you get someone telling you the promo had nothing to do with price increases. The rep I spoke to couldn't care less, apparently, making no effort to resolve my concerns to my satisfaction, and telling me she couldn't escalate my call to someone who might. I asked her to send verification of the new pricing based upon services I requested dropped and downgraded. She didn't bother to send anything to the email on file, and the one she sent to me had broken or expired links. Figures. But thanks anyway for my 30 plus years of loyalty, Then to add insult to injury they try to sell you a mobile plan. Well, I've been with T-Mobile for 20 years and never had to call them to dicker over price increases. NEVER. If I could give my Cox Communications local Baton Rouge, LA Siegen Ln store zero stars I would! My father recently passed away, but has been a long time customer with Cox for over 40+ years! As the court-appointed legal administrator for my father's estate, I brought my 80-year old newly widowed mother into the Siegen Ln store on the morning of October 6, 2025 to change their account from his name to hers. Upon explaining our situation, I immediately provided my legal paperwork and a death certificate, of which the customer service rep refused to look at but demanded 5 times that I show her "power of attorney" documents for my father. Ignoring me and our legal paperwork, she simply dismissed the estate letters of administration as a "piece of paper", and I quote "that anyone could type up." I even showed her the court seal on the legal estate court documents but she was belligerent and adamant I would provide her with power of attorney paperwork or she would not help me. This was so upsetting for both my 80-year old mother and I both, and I literally had to tell the customer service associate over and over that power of attorney isn't applicable for anyone who is deceased, it is only for someone who is still living. The unprofessionalism of this young woman was appalling; wearing a face mask only covering her mouth but not nose, mumbling and rolling her eyes throughout our entire interaction and showing zero interest in her job and outright disdain toward helping customers. At that point she brought out either a manager or another employee who had no interest in helping us either. WE WERE TOLD TO GO HOME AND CALL COX's 1-800 number if we wanted to transfer the account. This was absolutely pitiful disgusting service, especially for elderly clients who have been with this local company for over 40 years! Blatant disrespect for customers and for the law. Cox will not provide me any formal way to file a complaint against these service representatives and store although I have called and asked specifically. Do not do business with this company and please protect your elderly parents if they are continuing to use Cox as their TV or internet provider! I called to troubleshoot my internet router on Monday. They did some troubleshooting and found that my modem wasn't capturing a signal. The technician promised a new modem would be shipped to me and that it would arrive in 3-5 business days. Fast-forward to Thursday. I hadn't gotten any update on the shipment, so I called Cox. The previous technician failed to ship my modem, costing me three days. I had to go through all the troubleshooting again which lasted two hours. They found the same problem. I needed a new modem. I'm still waiting on the new modem. The agent left me on hold and the call disconnected after I voiced my concern about respect and good customer service. I still don't know if I'm going to receive the new modem. read more

Countour app does not work for long on the iPad. My whole playlist is there. I select a show and it plays for several minutes, then POW! buffers, then cuts off and gives me the attached error code. it sucks I have called cox. they say the service is complimentary and will not fix it. Cox internet service in Harahan is terrible. We have had very frequent outages for the last three months. They can't fix the problem. Don't waste your time or money with them. I am 48 years old, have used Internet and cable providers from North Carolina, Georgia, Tennesse, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and California. I can say, without a doubt, Cox Communications internet service is the absolute WORST service I have ever used. It will be down a significant portion of the time, or it will be spotty in use and video calls will drop. Occasionally, they do notify when the service is down, and provide random times that will be back up, but don't get your hopes up, because the time they provide is just that, random, and has no basis in reality as to when it might actually come back up. Sometimes, they'll just deny that its their service and tell you its your modem, which is neat, because apparently my neighbors modem also gets "sick" at the exact same time. Seriously - if you have another option - go with it - If you are like me and stuck using them because they are a monopoly in the area I currently reside - well then shame on people who don't like capitalism because Cox Communications is what you deserve when competition isn't allowed..... read more
