I had a very disappointing experience with Cowboy Kia in Conroe and, unfortunately, I left feeling that the pricing and communication were far from honest. On the evening of September 8, I inquired about a vehicle advertised by the dealership. I received a response from Katie, a dealership representative, who specifically told me through text that the price of the vehicle was $7,505. Based on that confirmed price, I scheduled an appointment to come see the vehicle the following day. I drove approximately an hour to Conroe specifically because of the price I had been quoted. When I arrived on September 9, I actually got there a little earlier than my scheduled appointment. The salesman who helped me was very nice and professional. He explained that the vehicle had just come in on Monday and had not yet been fully processed, but he allowed us to look at it. My mom and I thoroughly looked over the vehicle and understood that it had some damage and corrections that would need to be addressed. We were still willing to consider purchasing it, and I was prepared to pay cash. When we began discussing the price, we noticed that the price on the dealership's website had suddenly increased from the $7,505 price I had been given the night before to $13,013. I showed the salesman the information I had received and asked to speak with someone because I had written confirmation from the dealership's own representative of the $7,505 price. The entire reason I had driven an hour to Conroe was because of that quoted price. The General Manager came over and explained that the price had been corrected because of expenses associated with fixing the vehicle. He said he just obtained the vehicle yesterday (Tuesday) so it had not been processed. I told him that's funny because the salesman said it came in Monday, the GM said oh well Monday, Tuesday whatever. I understand that a dealership may have expenses and may need to adjust pricing. However, that does not change the fact that I was given a specific price by their representative, made an appointment based on that price, and drove an hour to the dealership relying on that information. The General Manager offered to sell it for $12,000. I explained that I did not want to spend that much, especially after adding tax, title, and license, and I was already there prepared to pay cash. My mom then asked whether the dealership was required to honor the advertised price. The General Manager told us that they were not because the website had a disclaimer stating that errors can occur and customers should verify the information with a representative. Here's the problem: I DID verify the information with a representative. I went back afterward and looked at the disclaimer myself. It says, essentially, that errors can occur and customers should verify information with a customer representative. I did exactly that. I have the text message from the dealership's customer representative confirming the $7,505 price. So what exactly was I supposed to do differently? I am not upset because the dealership wouldn't sell me a vehicle for a price they no longer wanted to honor. I am upset because I relied on a price that was directly confirmed to me by their own representative, drove an hour to the dealership, arrived for my scheduled appointment, and then discovered that the price had increased by more than $5,000. I respect the salesman who helped us; he was kind and professional throughout the experience. Unfortunately, the way the pricing situation was handled by management left a very bad impression. If a customer verifies a price directly with your dealership representative and makes a trip to your dealership based on that confirmation, I believe you should stand behind what your representative told them. I came prepared to purchase a vehicle with cash. Instead, I left feeling that my time and trust were not valued. I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing from Cowboy Kia to get everything in writing, save screenshots and text messages, and verify the final price before making a long trip. For me, this experience was enough to take my business elsewhere. Even if I took the car at $12k I don't feel like the dealership would honestly fix all the errors on the vehicle. read more

An hour later and they tell me they're just now getting back to work... now I have to wait another 30 minutes to an hour. Why aren't the departments communicating?! I ended up talking to a representative named McKayla, and I was put on hold for a long time just to get basic information. When I finally got through, they recommended a body shop that, after doing some quick research, has really bad online reviews and doesn't appear to be Kia certified. For a newer vehicle that's still under warranty and loaded with safety tech, that's a huge red flag. I expected a dealership to send us somewhere trustworthy and clearly certified to work on Kia vehicles, not just any random shop. The whole thing made me feel like they cared more about pushing us to a certain shop than actually making sure my mom's car was repaired the right way. For something as serious as a crash, that's not okay. I won't be trusting their repair recommendations again, and I'd suggest anyone in a similar situation double-check the shop's reviews and certifications before following their advice. read more

Bought a new 2026 Kia Sorento middle of March. Have had to take it to get fixed 3 times now and we haven't even made a payment on it. They assured us the last service appointment it should be running great and it lasted a week. Car was shaking horribly and check engine light came back on. I worked at a dealership where before we sold a vehicle, we got it serviced just to be sure stuff like this wouldn't happen. Extremely disappointed. Dropped off for service again today after our sales guy said we could get a loaner off the lot. Nope, they "didn't have any on the lot" & had us go to hertz and get a rental. Pretty sure we got sold a lemon and will be seeking legal counsel if the issue occurs when we get our car back. read more

Service department rates are ridiculous. Wanted a Homelink mirror installed in a new Telluride I had purchased, from Cowboy. Bought the mirror (Homelink mirror not included with EX trim pkg), went to service department to set up appointment for installation. Was told it would be $379.00. Was told labor time was 2 and a half hours. Did just a little research and changed out the mirror myself. Took me 30 minutes to swap mirrors, calibrate compass, and program garage door opener. They were going to charge me labor for 2 1/2 hours? Now that I see how Cowboy Service rapes customers, I'll be taking my car elsewhere for any service or work to be done. read more

After I signed the purchase of my $50,000 plus Kia PHEV Sorento I began to realize I purchased the wrong vehicle from the wrong dealer. The experience went downhill thereafter. The guy who was supposed to explain the features and how they worked was a disaster. I had to go home and read the entire owner's manual and then go back and get a salesman to help explain how multiple features worked. A few weeks later I had a flat tire. The tire jack collapsed while I was lifting the car and I was forced to call a local mobil tire truck to recover the jack trapped under the vehicle and change the tire. The spare tire jack cannot handle the additional weight of a PHEV Sorento. I took the jack to Cowboy Kia and they refused to provide any compensation or a new jack. They told me this was operator error. As you can see the Jack is placed according to where the owner's manual instructions indicate it should be placed on a flat surface. read more

They refused to proceed with me buying a car until I left a good review for them online. My internet was bad so it wouldn't load. & sat there for 15ish minutes trying to get it to load. I told them it's my dad's birthday and I just wanted to speed this up. After I buy the car, I get a call weeks later that they lost paperwork and that I need to get the car inspected and send them the paperwork. They offered to detail my car for the inconvenience. Needless to say I do it, and I show up to pick up my plates and they said they actually found the paper work. Now I was down 40 dollars for no reason and no detailing of the car happened. Shortly after, my AC goes out and the whole carbonator needs replacing. They assured me when they were explaining the extended warranty that if my AC specifically went out it would be covered... needless to say it wasn't. I asked them to call my dad so my dad could better explain it to me and they said they would. They call me back and say there's nothing they can do and I have to pay out of pocket. When asking my dad, he said they never called him... which means I was essentially lied to and manipulated. I noticed when I tried to roll my back window down that the manual handle to roll it down was broken and just lightly placed on the door. But when you move the handle, it falls off. I bought my tires from here. I had a nail in my tire and when I walked in on a Friday at 2pm, they said they my couldn't fix it. And that the next appt was July 10 and that my warranty didn't cover the fix. They didn't even offer to put air in my tire. The 2 girls at the front desk were too busy gossiping about their boy drama. I drive a mile to Discount Tore and they fixed for free. This is the 3rd time I have an issue with cowboy Kia! I hope the owner of this business is not ok with the way all these young kids are running his business! read more

I called Cowboy Kia & asked Virgil if they have a market adjustment. He said they stopped the $10k charge due to higher supply. I asked if there were any required add-ons. He said no. They had 5 Tellurides & more coming. To confirm, my husband called. He spoke to Tim & Jeremy. They said there was no market adjustment but there was an optional add-on. Tim gave us a total price that excluded any add ons or market adjustments. We told him which vehicle we wanted & scheduled to meet the next morning. Tim asked about a trade & told him yes & disclosed damage on the front fender. He gave me an estimated trade value. We checked the price at three other local dealers.The other dealers and the original quote from Cowboy Kia were the same. Upon arrival Tim requested we leave positive reviews on Google & Kia. He said perfect reviews both places would get me a $50 gift card. He took the keys to my trade to appraise it. We looked at 2 vehicles. I chose the 1 I wanted & declined a test drive. Tim handed us the keys & got an invoice. Their appraisal of my vehicle was half of the quote from the phone and half the amount of 3 other dealers. The invoice had a $5k protection package. We declined it. The new invoice had a $2.5K package. We declined it. The next invoice had no protection package but they lowered the value of my trade. We knew the vehicle was worth over twice their appraisal and after they dropped it lower we told Tim we were going to keep my trade & buy the Telluride. Tim left & came back with a manager. He told us that without the protection plan & the trade, there was a $5K market adjustment. They lied to us so we made a 2.5 hour drive to the dealership only to find out nothing we were told was true. I reminded them that the reviews work both ways. We told them we weren't buying but couldn't leave because they had my keys. It wasn't about the money. It was the unethical sales practices & the lies. Jeremy & a new manager brought a new invoice. He asked us to meet in the middle & accept half of the depreciation my car suffered on their lot. We agreed. Jeremy said mentioning a negative review was the reason they decided to raise my trade value a few hundred dollars. Before paying Jeremy requested I leave a google review. I was told what to say & the order to name the salesmen. They made leaving a positive review part of the sales process. We went through financing without trouble. A young man walked us through the vehicle's features. We never made it back to my trade before leaving. We had no access to it and I didn't remember I left my purse in it. The purse was in the console with the owner's manual, lock nuts, and headphones. When I realized I left my purse in the vehicle I traded we called & spoke to Jeremy. He said my vehicle was there & he would look for my purse. Jeremy called back to tell me that my purse was thrown away. They had the items with the purse including the headphones, lock nuts, and owner's manual. We asked again to verify. Again he said yes and that someone remembered throwing my silver purse away. He said all valuables are thrown away in detail. We called to ask if we could come check the trash for my purse but he said the dumpsters were emptied. I called the manager. I told him I left my purse in my trade & Jeremy informed me it was thrown away. I asked if they normally throw people's valuables away. He said no. Valuables were supposed to be brought to the office so their owner could retrieve them. My purse had ID in it. He said Tim would look into it. Tim messaged later that evening stating my purse wasn't there, it wasn't in the trash, and nobody threw it away. Two salesmen and two very different stories. The next day I called the manager. He said he was going to personally look into it. Instead Jeremy called back and his words were are we really doing this again & when I said excuse me he said about your purse. In short, Cowboy Kia lies, uses very unethical sales practices, can't be trusted, & doesn't care about their customers. read more

When I got my car back and at home, I noticed there was a dent on the back of my car and paint chipping that was not there before. They "investigated" it and said they found nowhere this could have happened and basically I am at fault. This was after I had to followup multiple times. And the saga continues with cowboy Kia. My son had a recall on his 2014 Kia Optima. Kia had put a brand new engine in his car in 2020. Sometime last year with 40k miles or just under engine lost compression. No reason for it to lose compression. Then they told my son that Kia won't cover a warranty on a brand new engine and that it would cost my son about 6k to pay them to do it. Well fast forward to now....Russ from service said there was never a ticket work up for the warranty on this engine that was replaced. So we are now back to square one and Russ even agreed that there is no reason why this new engine has no compression. As of today he passed this on to the warranty lady. I have been helping a relative buy a car. They decided on a KIA based on the prices discussed both over the phone and when test driving. When they sat down to finalize the purchase, the quoted payments looked off. We asked why learned they add a nearly $7000 package to every car they sell. It's unclear when the salesman would have disclosed this if not asked about why the numbers looked wrong and the explanation for the mark-up was ridiculous. In this environment, it is true that other dealers add "packages" to their cars to price them over MSRP, but every other dealer we've spoken to has explained this upfront and mentioned it in all discussions of pricing from the start. No other dealer has been anywhere near as deceptive as this or had a "required" package anywhere near this price. read more

This place is a joke, they will tell you anything you want to get you to fill out a credit application that will result in a Hit on your credit. DO NOT TRUST THEM, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED I spoke with 2 people, the first was named Emory. Emory answered all the basic questions about the special promotion and asked what I was trying to trade and what I was looking to get, no problems there. I explained to him how I had a vehicle (2014 Jaguar XJR Long wheel base) that was not currently running due to engine problems and that I owed close to $30k ($23k principal balance) on it. I asked is this something you can work with, not only did he say yes but assured me that he's delt with worse. I explained the situation several times just to make sure and each time he was clear that this promotion would clear the owed balance on the car and get me in a new Kia. He told me to fill out a credit application and send him a email with my check stubs, license, etc. I once again asked if he is sure we can make this happen before I did this application, I did not want to get a credit hit for nothing. He again assured me that he personally believes it can be done.. soon after doing the application he said "we can help you for sure" and then said a Telluride or Sorento would be the best option. I asked once more if he's sure they can pay off my car and he replied "that's the plan!" Soon after I would never hear from him again. I tried calling several times and never got an answer until I spoke with a manager named Tommy. Tommy said that Emory had an emergency and that he would be taking over my deal. I re-explained the whole situation and the whole discussion I had with Emory. At one point Tommy was telling me that the cars Emory recommended would not work but could get me in a new Sportage and said he would call me on Monday. He never called and when I called, Tommy wasn't having it. He began changing everything that I had heard from Emory and was sounding eager to get off the phone with me. I told him how this was upsetting because I'm hearing something completely different from what I was told earlier, and that this wasn't right. Tommy took no care and just defended his worker again and again giving me the are you going to buy something or we can't help you attitude. What Tommy said was that my car would not be paid off in the way Emory explained it, but that all the remaining balance would be rolled over to the new Kia car, and that my car balance would be so high that it would make no sense to do it. He told me that I needed to get it fixed before trading it in even though I made it very clear several times what I was dealing with in the very beginning, I did not want those exact words thrown at me after doing the credit application. He was giving me the annoyed brush off attitude making me feel like my car was worthless to them, clearly not wanting to understand my frustrations or even apologize even once for what I was told from Emory vs his words. Went in sales dude showed us the Forte bc it was "right at our price point" and that he would even "work with us to get a better price", he let us know that the car was 25k. After test driving the car we were considering it sat inside, to be told that the price was actually 4k more than what the guy said outside because they add 4k on top of the price as dealer markup, and there was NO wiggle room bc its a sellers market and we should be lucky to get a car at all. When I bought my 2019 Kia forte here 3 years ago there were so many fees they added in that they didn't explain and I was supposed to have the 100000 mile warranty for free but they charged me a extra 2000 when they weren't supposed to but I didn't realize it till after I paid off my car. I went in to sell my car 2 weeks ago and ALBERT PRISCO but I think he goes by Al was AWFUL! He spoke to me like I was stupid and didn't even want to print my quote for my car saying it was impossible cause he didn't want other dealers to see what he was offering me so I had to lie and say it was so Tesla could see my down payment then he finally printed it. Then there was a issue with carfax cause they put my mileage in which he said wasn't a big deal cause he can see it was a little error that they could fix if need be. When I think the error is fixed I called early in the morning saying I'll arrive 3 for me to get there and Albert to not even be there. they had 6 hours to call me and not waste over a hour of my time . the next day I arrive and he's over 30 mins late and im ready with all my paperwork and my ride is coming. He goes to make the payment then gets mad that the error still wasn't fix and said be would take 6000 off my 11000 quote cause the error wasn't fixed even though he said it was no big deal. I have never been talked to so disrespectfully and never had my time wasted so much. Avoid this place at all costs. I went to Mac Haik in spring and they had no problem taking my car cause they actually had a brain cell and even gave me more for my car. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

WORST CAR DEALERSHIP EVER! We were very interested in a vehicle that was listed on their website for $54,995 we test drove the vehicle Saturday, THEY RAN OUR CREDIT before coming to tell us that the car was listed online wrong. They stated that they could not make the decision on the price of the car without the GM's approval and that he would give us a call on Monday. The price of the vehicle should've been $59,000 and they did call us Monday to tell us they WERE NOT going to honor the price listed on line! When speaking with the GM he told us that he was not going to loose money by selling it to us for the listed price. As of Monday at 5:00PM their website still lists the car for the "wrong" price (I have pictures to prove the car is STILL listed wrong). I'm very pissed that this facility took us through all the steps INLCUDING RUNNING MY CREDIT before noticing that the car was "priced incorrectly" on our website. I will NEVER give these people another opportunity for my business. The sad part is, a family member of mine was looking for a new Telluride and now we are shopping else where for their car. tommy and my dad had been talking for at least a week on which vehicles i was interested in and that i wanted to test drive them before making a decision. on thursday 5/25/23, we asked him to hold a steel grey kia seltos with white/grey interior until saturday so we could get everything settled. once we arrived, tommy pulled up and showed us the vehicle as it was getting washed. we went back inside to purchase the seltos. emory helped us figure out the financing options (didn't even run our credit) but we had realized there was a $3,500 extra charge for what is listed in the photo. we expressed we weren't interested in the package but they stated they couldn't remove it, just lower it to $2,899. my dad was extremely unhappy with this and tommy had told us every dealership has some type of package similar to theirs and we weren't going to find a place without one. i got very upset and we left cowboy kia extremely disappointed. all of their employees seem so nice but all they want is to charge you extra fees without saying so upfront. also, tommy was justifying the extra cost by stating it was on the sticker, i would've just preferred him to be upfront with us instead of leading us on. we ended up finding a great deal at joe myers kia in jersey village and they were extremely helpful. never go here unless you want pure lies read more
