I came to Covenant to get supplies for my very first glass project and had one of the best shopping experiences of my life! Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly employee, and when I told her I was new to the hobby she took her time explaining different types of glass, showing me a grinder and giving me some advice about choosing glass for my budget and skill level. She left me to browse but came back to check on me, which I found very thoughtful. I really appreciate that Covenant has a "small projects" section with smaller pieces of glass- perfect for getting a good variety without breaking the bank. A different employee rang up my purchase and was also extremely helpful, friendly, and encouraging. The atmosphere at Covenant was very peaceful and it made me feel at ease. I will definitely be back to buy more glass (and maybe take a class!) at Covenant. read more

Had a church stained glass window to makeover and signed up for their class. What a wonderful experience it is as this place is owned and staffed by people who are knowledgeable, friendly and very talented in everything glass. If you have a stained glass something that needs some love or you are interested in learning a new art form, you've got to visit this place. After my project, I may take another class to learn about melting and shaping glass. read more

Bought a wine bottle slumping "class" which was a joke. Basically, you bring in a wine bottle, they tell you a little bit about the process of how they are going to slump it, you leave it there and come back to pick it up. I definitely expected more of a hands-on learning experience. Very happy I bought my husband and I the class through Groupon and didn't pay full price for it. I do want to mention that I am very glad Everett has a glass shop and while I personally won't be going back I hope they stay in business and do well. *I went in a time once before looking for a Christmas gift. My budget was $50. I picked up a frame and it definitely looked used; scratched and a couple of nicks. Since it was $50 (and the only thing I could find that was that "cheap") but had a little wear and tear I asked if they would be willing to bring down the price a little. Definitely not, was the consensus. And while I respect that I am also wondering how they are going to sell products for that much when they already look used? You can find amazing deals on glass online. Also there are great classes through the college to learn glass blowing etc. There are a myriad of shops if you google outside of Everett. I really like to shop locally but unfortunately do not feel comfortable going back to Covenant. read more

I took the intro to stained glass class at Covenant and fell in love with the place. The class itself met once a week for about 3 hours. During this time, the teacher, the owners, and the regulars were all at our disposal to answer questions as they arose (note: the regulars would offer to help - there wasn't a stated policy that they were there to help us). There was a wonderful spirit of camaraderie. There were people who clearly had been coming there for years to work on their pieces, and they were all genuinely interested in what the newbies were working on. It made me feel really confident about the work that I was doing to know that I had the support I needed to fix problems should they arise. My final project came out amazing. I was so incredibly proud of what I had created, and know I never would have been able to do it without the support of the community of students and teachers that were there with me. I absolutely plan to do more classes there in the future, and hope to go in often to work on my own projects. Check out their Tiffany lamp classwork. When i first moved to Everett, WA in 2008, I had been crafting stained glass art for about 3 years. I found this place through a Google search and saw that they offered basic stained glass classes, among other glass crafting classes. Stan, the co-owner with his wife Colleen, run an amazing shop. They have all types of glass for purchase, and lots of tools to help you get started, at reasonable prices too (stained glass crafting can get pretty expensive). What I like most is the staff. They really strive to help you realize your vision without standing in the way of your goals. It is really helpful that they make space for the returning students to work on projects too. read more

I've been wanting to come here since 1999 and finally had the ability to make it happen. Stan is very talented, kind, easy going, and very helpful. This is a stained glass shop--not a lampworking supply store. I've been in a couple times looking for lampworking supplies. The first time I went, they had the basics, but it was clear that the employees didn't know much about lampworking (when I asked what the COE on the glass was, they had no idea what I was talking about). When I stopped in the other day to get bead release, they said that their one lampworking employee no longer works there and they demonstrated once again that no one knew anything about the supplies they carried. It was under-supplied, poorly organized and over-priced. Save yourself the trip--go to Seattle to visit Hot Glass Color, or go to Shelton to Frantz Art Glass. (I also hear there's a place in Marysville, but I've never been.) read more

Covenant Art Glass is a fantastic retail store, offering a staggering selection of glass, whether for stained glass projects piecing art glass together with lead or copper, or for fusing or forming. You can purchase large sheets, or they will cut for you and you can buy the size you need. They also offer lots of supplies and tools. They also offer high quality and reasonably priced classes on topics such as glass painting and fusing. I just attended a 2-day class on fusing, and it greatly exceeded my expectations; well worth the 3-hour (each way) journey from my home. The 3-person staff teaching the class were extremely experienced and made sure we each got individual attention and support, leading us through several projects (as well as answering my other many questions). This is a family-owned business, and Stan and Colleen have a true love of art and commitment to education. Stan's own glass painting is stunning and inspirational. Note: call and ask about glass cutting classes that are offered regularly but aren't on their webpage, and go and visit the store yourself, as they don't attempt to show their retail offerings on their webpage. read more
