I don't know much about cars in general and tend to accept what a mechanic tels me. That said, I had some necessary work done by a mechanic at Dolphin automotive the week after hurricane Helene came through. All the other local auto mechanic shops were destroyed or out of service due to lack of electric and water service. I was charged $95 for diagnosis (? I already knew what was wrong with the car) plus $95 for a switch (??) and $95 for labor. My car ran just fine when I drove it into Dolphin's station that day. After the work was done, which by the way, did not involve the engine, the car started missing badly as soon as I drove out. Back at the mechanic, told me a part had been broken and I needed to replace the entire assembly. Denied having broken the part, which I find hard to believe. Why would my car run fine before they worked on it, to not run afterwards? As I stated before, Dolphin mechanics have worked on my car several times and have done an ok job, nothing outstanding. I now suspect they pad their invoices but can't prove anything, just like I can't prove the worker broke my part. However, after this last incident I will no longer patronize the shop and will not recommend them to anyone I know.

I came in early and it took about 1.5 hours. The lobby was clean and they had TV playing quietly. I was able to work from my laptop so the time passed by pretty quickly. The second time was for my roommates car. She'd been having issues and the first place we stopped at told her it was a loose gas cap and nothing to worry about at the moment. Then her car started steaming. So we came to Redmon's. Again we came in early, I don't think they take appointments so come in the morning. We told the front desk clerk what was going on and he had a few ideas what it could be. It seemed to match what I was thinking, coolant or some sort of leak for oil... so we opted to have them do a diagnosis and went on our way. They called us back about 2 hours later with a full report and everything seemed to match up. Honest and hard working people here. I really appreciate their patience for all of our questions and how fast they seem to work. We will continue to bring our cars here in the future.

Had an unfortunate experience with Valer. Hired them come out to fix the broken A/C in my vehicle…read more When they said it was all set, we paid and went to get the car. Once we got the car back, the A/C was in the exact same condition as when we left it with them. After letting them know it wasn't fixed, they stringed us along for over two hours on when they could look at it again to the point we couldn't wait around for re-service. They knew of our prior commitment so this felt intentional. Another concern is that he accidentally sent us a voice note when speaking with his associate saying that there was a leak but "we'll worry about that another time." In later texts, he explicitly lied to us by writing they checked everything and there were no leaks. After this, we had a reputable company look at the issue, who diagnosed it within five minutes as a leak. I've approached Valer to work something out considering they knew the problem but ignored it and charged us anyways, based on the accidental voice memo. In my attempt to get some type of refund, they lied again, stating that they sat there for 30 minutes with the A/C on to ensure it worked, however, the entire service call didn't even last 30 minutes. The third lie was when we were told they warranty all of their work, but haven't done anything to remedy this situation. Since there was no resolution despite their "We don't do refunds we get results (with an arm emoji)" text when giving the company the fair chance and time to make it right, this review is being shared as neither of those outcomes have been met.

Most shops were a week out and half were not open on Saturday. I needed to get my vehicle fixed by Monday morning. I have never used a mobile repair specialist in the past so I figured I would give it a try. I googled mobile repair specialists and called several with no answer and had to leave messages. John from Auto 911 answered the phone on the third ring and was ready to help. I called him at 9:00am and he was to my house by 10:15 on a 10:30 estimate. He looked over the truck, tested the truck, found the parts (several miles away), retrieved the parts and finished the repair in less time than it took me to find him on Google. The price was comparable with a brick and mortar shop without the hassle of getting your broken down vehicle to a shop. So to sum up my experience with John and Auto 911 of WNC, I would highly recommend them to anyone!
