As a flipper I love when I meet people whose customer service is top notch. Boris was excellent from beginning to finish. He installed my unit within a timely manner and I'm so happy with it. I highly recommend this business for your AC needs. Definitely worth the investment.

Highly recommended. Do NOT go with those morons who will charge $50,000 for your house! Boris charges a little over $3000 per unit. We had an excellent experience from the planning to the execution to the payment. Boris is a kind, pleasant professional who works with an older person and a younger person in his crew. Clearly he knows what he is doing, because he has his own company manufacturing the mini-splits. Each mini-split has its own outside compressor box, so you can add more later - they don't all run from the same box. They will work with you in scheduling and placement and such, and they are polite and EFFICIENT. I had to teach a class on Zoom and Boris waited patiently to ask me questions. The price is very fair as well, and when my bank annoyingly only let me send over 1000 dollars per day, Boris was unflappable and did not mind that we paid that way. The machines work beautifully to dispense cold or warm air as needed. My 1927 house finally has some AC!

We have a bedroom in our house that get really cold in the winter months. So we decided to get a slit mini ac/heater installed in the room. It's very quiet and efficient. My niece used Covac and she was pleased with their work. I called them and they responded right away. They are dependable and honest. Within a few days I had the unit installed and it works so well. Best decision we ever made to call Covac. I highly recommend this company. Get in touch with Boris. He will help you with your questions. Super knowledgeable and easy to work with!

We received a prompt quote 3 months ago. However, we didn't get the work done because we wanted to see how our central air would work... our house has a bit of a warm spot. Well, we decided we need to supplement our AC. I contacted Boris again, and he scheduled the appt two days out. He arrived 1 minute before the 1 hour arrival window. The install was done very professionally and cleanly... Not to mention Boris was pleasant to interact with! I highly recommend this company. And their price really is hard to beat (based on another quote from another 5 star company). I'll update this review if the unit somehow fails to perform. I'll also post photos that'll show the new look for the 24,000 BTU unit. Thanks Boris!!

Recently bought our second mini split unit from them. Got the first one in 2017 and we have never had any issues. The unit and installation costs are competitive and reasonable. Boris answered all of my questions and provided me with a quote right away. I trust his product and company. The installation was clean and the unit itself is high quality.

Juan had a complicated project on his hands since all of our ductwork is contained underneath the house, with very little clearance. Not only did the old ducts deteriorate over time, but many areas were also no longer up to code. From start to finish, Juan was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. The installation was smooth, and he kept everything clean and organized throughout the process. Since the new ductwork was installed, we've noticed a huge improvement in airflow and indoor comfort--each room now cools evenly, and the system runs more efficiently. What sets Juan apart is how much pride he has in his work, and it truly reflects in the final results. He basically remapped the entire ductwork to maximize the potential of our heating/cooling system. I would highly recommend his services to anyone needing HVAC work. We have recommended Juan already to several of our friends and family. Quality workmanship and excellent customer care!

I see them at least once a year for regular maintenance, and sometimes more often if any issues come up as my system continues to age. No matter the reason for the visit, they are always prompt, friendly, and fair. One thing I've learned over the years is to schedule maintenance visits ahead of time because they do get busy--understandably so, given how reliable and skilled they are. Their pricing is more than fair, especially considering the high quality of their work. Recently, we were dealing with uneven cooling in different areas of our home. Their team came up with a smart, effective solution by installing dampers, and the difference it made was amazing. They've also suggested a few improvements to help make our system more efficient, and I'll be seeing them again soon to take those next steps. If you're looking for a company you can count on year after year, I can't recommend The Air Conditioning Guy enough. They truly care about their customers and stand by their work.

I assumed it was the AC unit sitting right above it, so I contacted Pioneers in a mild panic. They quickly put me in touch with Tomer, who showed up that same afternoon to take a look. From the moment he arrived, Tomer was calm, kind, and completely professional, which is exactly what you want when you're stressed about water dripping through your ceiling. He diagnosed the problem efficiently: our AC drip pan had overflowed due to a clogged drain pipe. He walked us through everything as he went, answering every question we threw at him without making us feel like we were slowing him down. He needed a couple of additional parts he didn't have on hand, so he promised to return Monday morning to finish the job. And he did, right on time. When yet another part turned out to be needed mid-repair, he didn't reschedule or leave us hanging. He went out, got it himself, and came straight back to finish what he started. No drama, no delays. While he was up in the attic, he also flagged some rat droppings and other pest concerns. But not in a pushy, upsell-y way, but just as a heads-up. "Here's what I'm seeing, I can get you a quote if you want." Refreshingly straightforward. Tomer turned a stressful Sunday emergency into a resolved problem by Monday afternoon. Thanks Pioneers H&A!

Other companies either tried to upsell me on a UV lighting system or suggested opening up the entire hallway ceiling, which felt excessive for the scope of work. After accepting the estimate, there was a delay of over two weeks before I was contacted to schedule the service, and I do think communication during that time could have been improved. That said, once they reached out, they were able to schedule the work for the very next day. Victor and his crew were professional and efficient, completing the job in about half a day. Kevin took $4500 from us, didnt buy any material for the project and didnt do any work. He promised us a refund on text, and then stopped responding and never gave back our money. The most unprofessional and dishonest person I've ever met. On August 25, 2025, my partner and I paid Kevin Lee from let's chill HVAC a 60% deposit for HVAC installation. The invoice did NOT state that deposits were nonrefundable. We paid five days in advance of the agreed start date because he said he needed money to pick up the equipment. By that date, after following up to confirm, he finally responded -- hours later -- that he hadn't picked up any equipment all week and now the warehouse is close for Labor Day weekend. Instead, he tried to upsell us on a different unit than what we originally agreed on, then admitted he didn't have a truck to transport equipment and couldn't perform the job on time regardless. At that point, we asked for a refund to hire a more reliable company. Mind you, we've been without AC for an entire week during the hottest months of august. During this time, he ignored multiple calls and texts from us, but I confirmed through my own Yelp account that he continued responding to new customer inquiries. This shows he was selectively avoiding communication with us. Finally, after 12+ hours, he said he would return only $3,500 of the $4,500 deposit and said that the law allows him to wait 30 days. That deadline has passed, and I have not received the refund despite his written promise. No material was ordered and no work was done and he wants to keep thousands of dollars from us. After talking to other contractors and researching online, under California law (Bus. & Prof. Code §7159.5), contractors are prohibited from requesting or accepting more than 10% of the contract price or $1,000 (whichever is less) as a down payment. So technically, our down payment should've been $750. In this case, the 60% deposit was well above the legal limit so I will report this accordingly. This experience was frustrating and Costly. HVAC is a saturated field so please speak to multiple people and go with someone that's trustworthy. Also, you should always verify a contractor's license status with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) before paying any money because it's illegal to do HVAC work in California without a license.
