We had an all around great interaction with this company. They were suggested to us by Yelp. (Yelp Projects is a good place to start for alot of home improvement projects). The first meeting for AC installation was almost immediately after I had posted my request on Yelp. Luis came out to our house to do the assessment and he was extremely polite and helpful. There was no pressure, just providing information about the different machines and brands. He also let me know about rebates and tax credits I could get from the state for installing energy efficient machines, which will be alot of help, come tax time. He sent me a bid right away through email that detailed the scope of work. We got a great price on the work that needed to be done. When the workers were installing the unit, they were all very professional, protecting my furniture and floors. This multi-day installation went so smoothly that you couldn't tell day to day that other people had been in the house. They were really good about cleaning up and returning everything to normal, even though they were coming back the next day. We now have air conditioning and it's such a relief. Just in time for summer. I'm sure there'll be 100 degree days, so I'm so happy that we were able to get this done so quickly and on time. We went with an American Standard split system with heat pump mounted outside, and an air handler in the attic, with ducts to every room in the house. So far, so good! Great service with true, knowledgeable & capable technicians. Luis goes to great lengths to assure you that you may put your trust in his company. We had a non-responsive mini split AC unit that we originally asked to have serviced. Blizzard was the 5th company we contacted; the first 2 would not even look at the unit, 1 wanted $850 to service it and flat out said there's a 60-70% chance it will not turn back on after being serviced, and 1 company who is one of the largest in the LA area completely misdiagnosed the issue. Blizzard correctly diagnosed the problem based on the history we provided and they were able to show me the real issue (shorted out motherboard), and tried to first source replacement parts instead of immediately trying to sell us into an expensive and possibly unnecessary replacement unit. Unfortunately there was no way to source/replace the shorted motherboard for this particular brand (Mirage Ventus-- i do not recommend this brand They work great until they don't. Parts and customer service for this brand essentially do not exist). So Blizzard worked with us to find a more reliable AC brand (Daikin 19 series, 12000 BTU) that would do the needed work for our square footage and worked hard to quote a price for install that was fair to all parties. They guarantee their work for 2 years and the machine has a 5 year warranty. The removal and installation process was efficient with great results; the techs Ricardo & ____ were very polite and explained a lot about the new unit. Very happy and relieved to have an AC back up and running. Blizzard was also the only company we contacted that could confidently service our OTHER Mirage Ventus mini split in the rear of our house which needed a deep clean. So we booked this service with them as well, and Enrique was able to do what 4 other companies said they could not do. Long story short, Blizzard will be my ONLY HVAC servicer in the LA area. Came on time when they said they would, finished the work under the estimated time it took and made sure everything was secure. My HVAC was about 13 years old and always needed repair. I finally decided to replace the unit before it died on me during the heatwave. I called several companies, and Blizzard Air was one of two that took the time to assess my needs, look at the unit, and "right-sized" the proper unit. The team took care of everything, including dealing with the city permits, scheduling the replacement, meeting the inspector, and making the 'very minor' adjustments the inspector wanted (such as adding the unit number on the HVAC system). I cannot recommend this company enough! We had to have our a/c unit moved to resolve a permitting issue with the city. They were communicative the whole process, always arrived when they said they would, and beyond professional. They got the unit moved, inspected for any issues that could delay the permits and even scheduled the HERS test for us. The best part, was the price was very fair when compared to other quotes we got. Come inspection day, the guys arrived early and prepared with a file full of documents just in case the inspector asked for anything. The inspector was in and out in just a few minutes, signing off on our issue!
