I was really glad to see this coffee shop open a few months ago. It was one thing Carrick was…read moreseriously lacking as there weren't many places where you could just go for a relaxed coffee and catch up, particularly later on in the day when the cafes had closed for the day. Creed is surrounded by glass walls so you can see inside the relaxed and tastefully decorated shop as you drive past, however the lighting inside is muted so you can see everything comfortable without it being intrusive. I finally visited for a cup of tea with a friend about 6 weeks after it opened, and the experience was great. In the area where the shop is, there are two other businesses, a flooring shop and a pizza takeaway. There is enough parking to cover the three as long as things don't get too busy, and it's a short walk from the front door. We got a seat no problem when we arrived, and got served straight away. I just had the berry tea which came served in an infuser, and it was beautiful, my friend had a coffee. We didn't eat this time, but I saw a fantastic range of pastries, tray-bakes and sandwich options, so will definitely make a point of going back for food soon, particularly as I follow them on Facebook, and the salads they post up look absolutely divine! They also have some really comfy leather couches, great if you aren't in a rush and want to just chill out and watch the world go by.

Ladies are gentlemen! Boys and Girls! Listen to this review because you shall heed it well! This…read morerestaurant is hands down the most beautiful amazing authentic Italian restaurant I've eaten at in years. You know maybe the pandemic has made my heart heavy and lonely but my stomach is in complete delicious delight and 11 out of 10 contentment. Take my breath away at how I'm just speechless at the awe of how the execution concept and passion at display! The appetizers! Just wow. Rice balls absolutely authentic! My Sicilian mother and godmother would cry as if their childhood was touched. The pork belly was impressive as well my friend Mark loved it! Entrees! Lamb is a beautiful thing. Never underestimate it. This lamb was so well made I could taste the orchestrated symphony of flavors hot my palate. My friend Mark's pasta was also to the same effect. Dessert. Pistachio cheesecake is the most Italian NY dish ever to graced my graces. My friend Mark's tiramisu... I've made it before and absolutely blushing in flattering graces! Overall that 1 star review is garbage. The reviewer probably was divorced the night they wrote their trite tired overwrought high school excuse of a existence. Bottom line listen to this Sicilian descendants word. This restaurant is the real deal. Do not and I repeat do not!!!!! Pass up this restaurant!!!!! Go here!!! You owe it to yourself!!! Yes this restaurant isn't in Italy whatever that's not the point. The point is this restaurant is the only Northern Ireland restaurant that knows Italian cuisine. Also the waitress Cassandra is an absolute delight as well! She recommended the wines and drinks and you know food service is absolutely all about the restaurant experience!!! I'll say it again!!! Go here!!! Eat this food!!! You will thank yourself!!! Your soul will thank yourself!!! Thank you readers for reading. I hope my next restaurant is just as well executed. The next place has a high bar to compete with. Thank you! Castello Italia it has been a pleasure! Chef's kiss! Bon appetit!

A friend mentioned this place was in Carrickfergus and I was excited to try it. Upon arriving we…read morerealized that there is a cafe - open from 9 every morning, and a restaurant, open from 5pm. Since it was lunch time, we walked in to the cafe and stood at the counter waiting for someone to welcome and seat us. Standing drooling and looking at all the amazingly presented tray bakes, it wasn't immediately obvious if they served lunch. In fact, were it not for the other customers in the cafe I'd think it was closed as the staff, despite walking back and forward behind the counter, had left us standing staring and were busting themselves - and yes, they had seen us. Husband spotted menus, so I grabbed one, confirmed they served food and I actually had to ask the lady behind the counter whether or not we could seat ourselves. She stared at me gormlessly and a man came out and said "are you here for lunch?" I said yes, do we seat ourselves? And he said sit anywhere. I grabbed another menu for husband and we sat, no one came near us for a long time. The vibe wasn't right at all. We were surrounded by people chatting and drinking tea but the staff were inattentive or just didn't care at all. After an extended period of time my husband said, I don't like it in here, I asked if he wanted to leave - he's NEVER like that, so I was astonished when he got up and said yes. So we left the delicious display of tray bakes behind and left. So, so disappointing. The menu looked great, on street parking, enough ice cream and cakes and tray bakes to shake a stick at, but either we had our invisibility cloaks on, or were just being ignored. I'm glad business is so good for them that they can just ignore customers, but it's not my kinda scene.

The decor is quirky (without trying too hard as sometimes places that try to be quirky can be) and ambiance is lovely. whether you are seated in the backroom which is the cosiest I think, or one of the front areas, where you get a lovely view of the bay, it is a pleasure just to sit here. The staff are always friendly and pretty fast and so great to engage with, but I think one of the stars of going here is the food and coffee. The menu is inventive and will have something to please everyone, and so delicious for the most part. I tend to gravitate towards a favourite that they do... eggs in purgatory... but anything Ive tried has been great!

Wow. This place is a hidden gem…read more I only went for breakfast but they also do a bed and breakfast service. The customer service is next to none. The guy that welcomed us is eccentric and so friendly. The front door was opened before we even reached it and we where very warmly Welcomed and led into the dining room to sit at a table with an amazing view. The food was great and the you had plenty to choose from off the menu. I would probably go for the French toast next time as it looked awesome. Staff continually ask do you want coffee refills. They have a wee shop out the back selling gifts. Parking is on street and easy. A great place to go for breakfast and walk along the sea front. It's like being in another world. So good to be away from the pace of city life. Can't wait to go back.
